"Blown Away" is amazing and one of my favorite Carrie Underwood songs - predictable but great winner nonetheless. The really dark and almost ominous feel of the song and Carrie's explosive vocals in the chorus and the outro is just great. I also love that "Springsteen" made it all the way to the top 3 - it's my favorite Eric Church song. Thanks for hosting sabre14!

Welp naive me thought "Neon" could legit win this lol. I'm not a fan of David Naill at all. At least a good song won lol. "Blown Away" might not be one of my top favs from Carrie, but it is great and lyrically its a masterpiece IMO. Thanks for hosting sabre14! This was a horrible year for country music, but this was fun nonetheless lol.

"Blown Away" is not overrated. It especially isn't overplayed (at least not here in my hometown, where you'll never hear it on the radio again after two devastating tornadoes hit us hard in 2013 and 2016, carving eerily similar paths). It is (and clearly we're all in agreement on this ) the best country release of 2012. Glad to see my queen win this whole thing with one of her absolute best songs!!! And a huge thank-you to the host sabre14 for putting in time and effort to juggle work and a 126-song rankdown! I don't know how you do it tbh lol

Top 3 is probably the highest an Eric Church song can get in a year-end rankdown lol Blown Away winning is expected, and one of Carrie's best songs so can't complain. Thanks anyway sabre14 for hosting the rankdown.

Don't think you can get away with these though It was written by Ben Hayslip, Sonya Isaacs and Ben Hayslip. Usually, we see a song make the top 5 in these year-end rankdowns because nobody tanked it and it was generally well-received, and "Let It Rain" is randkwon's lol.

Was really hoping "Springsteen" could snag a deserved top 2, but figured it would have too many tankers. Happy to see David Nail finish so well, even if it was for the worse song. "Let It Rain" is super over-wrought, but David's vocal performance is phenomenal.
Predictably disappointing winner. Never been a fan of the production or vocal arrangement. Not technically a bad song, but it has always been an instant station changer for me.
A few other top 10 thoughts: - Thrilled that "A Sound Of A Million Dreams" made it so far despite not being a hit. Such a beautiful song, one of the deepest and best written songs I've ever heard. The sparse piano production is probably what doomed it at radio, but it's also part of what makes the song so special.
- Also very happy to see Eli Young Band make it so far in a year end. Another extremely well written song, and although they've had melodies I've preferred a tad more, it's still a great and deserving song.
- I hadn't listened to "Over You" for a while before this rankdown, and I had forgotten how effective the opening verse of that song is. I love the way the lines are spaced, really giving each one extra weight. The chorus isn't as strong by comparison, but it's still one of Miranda's stronger songs.

Always so much fun to follow along with these rankdowns!! Which year is next?? 2020!!!!!! 😉 And I'm so excited!!! "Drinking Alone," "Bluebird," "Pretty Heart" (I think?!), and so many other greats. 2020 has definitely been a particularly better year for country music imo

I love all of the top 3. I would've been fine with any of them winning, but "Blown Away" is one of Carrie's greatest. Thanks for hosting!

Yay so glad to see Carrie win this!! Such a great top 5 too. Eric’s song is a bit overrated but it’s still good and one of his best. So glad David Nail did so well with both of his songs here too. My favorite male vocalist ever.
