A Dua Lipa, Bad Bunny & J Balvin collab is coming soon, Dua's I Like It is coming! this sounds like a terrible idea lol well after the underperforming 'break my heart' she needs to become a ''collab artist'' and also she doesn't have trust in her era anymore...she will release new song and not something from her album who just release 2 months ago..also she has a collab song with Normani and it will come after Bad bunny and J balvin collab

Break my heart is still gaining on Pop radio and is doing decently on streaming and sales. Calling a song an underperformer when it is still climbing is ridiculous. The song debuted at 21 which was a huge accomplishment for her seeing as she only has 2 top ten hits in the states. Also Don't start now is one of the biggest hits of the year and probably the biggest female pop song of the year. I don't think anyone was expecting Break my heart to be a huge smash but it's doing just fine despite Don't start now still dominating. I can see her releasing another single after BMH but even if she doesn't, who cares? This era was a huge success regardless. And lets not even get into the international stats of the Future Nostalgia era.

Calling a song an underperformer when it is still climbing is ridiculous. I don't see any ''climbing'' I think its decrease in position this week is not because of the song's performance but mainly because of (1) the radio recalibration, and (2) the relative strength of the songs that overtook it (Party Girl's streaming boost, Before You Go's sales boost, plus there are four songs debuting above it) BMH's main format is radio and if it weren't for the formula change, it actually gained points in my formula. So it's not climbing in position but it's still climbing in points.

Gaga's been pushing UK more.. i think they have a comfortable lead in the US cause no radio payola and no signed CDs etc.. maybe the little monsters bought the bundle now cause that 3k bundles for Stupid Love was truly a nightmare..

Break My Heart is still gaining on radio so I wouldnโt say itโs underperforming. Dua Lipa making a song with Bad Bunny and J Balvin is a bad idea because sheโs not Caribbean. What I initially wrote this big paragraph explaining it but I deleted. My point is that sheโs an English dance pop artist and pairing her with two reggaeton artists from Puerto Rico makes absolutely no sense. Break My Heart is still gaining on radio so I wouldnโt say itโs underperforming. Dua Lipa making a song with Bad Bunny and J Balvin is a bad idea because sheโs not Caribbean. Neither is J Balvin nor Bad Bunny I know that Puerto Rico is United States territory but itโs literally located in the Caribbean islands so youโre kinda arguing semantics.

J Balvin is Colombian lmao.
I do agree that it would be cheap of Dua to make a reggaeton or urbano track. However, music is meant to unify humanity and becomes beautiful with collaboration & diversity. Dua's song with BLACKPINK, for instance, is a great example of such music that reaches beyond borders, without Dua appropriating K-pop or Korean culture.
Let's not jump the gun before we hear the track.

Breaking News: POWER signs executive order banning collaborations between artists who are from different countries Itโs more of a genre thing. Any artist can latch onto a popular sound to boost their popularity in that market, but if itโs not done well the backlash comes in fast, look where Iggy Azalea is now. Cardi B isnโt from Puerto Rico or Columbia but her collaboration with those artists worked really well because it fit her character and she had great chemistry with Bad Bunny and J Balvin. You cannot tell me that a a dance pop singer from England combining her sound with that of reggaeton is a good idea.

She also had multiple collaborations with Ozuna. we don't know if the song even actually exists or if it's a reggaeton track, relax. (plus how is this relevant to the Hot 100? let's just move on from a hypothetical Dua Lipa song, please.)

Let's not jump the gun before we hear the track. The collaborations that artists like Halsey, Dua, and Nicki are doing with K-Pop acts work because K-Pop includes bits of genres that those artists have already done so it doesnโt sound that out of the ordinary hearing them on songs like that. My problem isnโt cultural appropriation, itโs confusion over what place an artist has making a song in a genre so different to the one theyโre making just because itโs popular. The reason why the Circles Gunna Remix is a meme is because, why would Gunna ever go on a song like that? It would sound ridiculous. Same with why the HITR remix with Rosalia didnโt work. If you try and force an extreme cross genre collaboration just to open up an artists popularity into more places or simply just to make a few more coins, the backlash starts to come in hard.

Iggy didn't get backlash for being a white woman latching onto a popular sound, there was backlash because she was a white woman who made herself sound and pretend to rap like a black woman from the south. Also I'm not really sure what you mean by it fits with Cardi's character, she's Afro-Latina.

I disagree, I think Nicki Minaj on "Tusa," Maren Morris on "The Middle," Beyoncรฉ on "Mi Gente," Katy Perry on "Con Calma" and Justin Bieber on "Despacito" were all great cross-genre collaborations that worked well and broadened the audiences of all artists involved, and brought visibility to their genres. (I also gave HITR remix more plays than the original... but I think that was a me thing.) But again, this topic is very much irrelevant to Hot 100 dated 6/6/2020.

Since when does Dua have to be tied to pop throughout the whole career?
