#19 had quite a weird journey.
It was the lowest SD for a while, which made it coast just on the fringe of the top 10. But suddenly, a wave of low rankings happened, and dropped it into the bottom 15, until a few pretty high rankings partially countered it.
Ultimately, we're losing 2 top 10s - including a HIGH top 5. We're again, you guessed it, eliminating 4 bottom 10s, including 2 bottom 5s, but also including one of the scarcer #40s.

It was quite the turnaround to see this go from the lowest SD to not even being in the bottom 10 SDs. It's no secret at this point that I love this band (who unfortunately disbanded recently), and their ability to incorporate indie rock, math rock, emo and whatnot under their unique, signature sound.

#18 sees the return of an old enemy: a #1 ranking.
After spending the first few lists in the 20s, it rose up, spending more than half the rankdown inside the top 10, and multiple lists inside the top 5. From its peak of #3, which came right at the mid-point of the movements, a wave of tanking the drop kicked it by 15 spots to its final position.
Apart from the #1 ranking, 4 more top 10s are lost. Blah blah 4 bottom 10s, 2 bottom 5s.

Can I just say I'm surprised not to see this in the top 10?
My condolences, @trilogy

#17 was generally agreed upon as it is the 5th lowest SD.
Apart from a blip where it shot into the top 10 around the middle of the process, it spent almost the entire time in the 15-20 range.
4 top 10s are lost, but just 1 is a top 5.
Alternatively, only 2 bottom 10s are eliminated, and neither of them are low.

I'm very happy these guys are consistently having good performances around these parts. A very polished song, with a perfect balance between synthpop and darkwave elements. I guess this kinda feels like being a goth in an amusement park

Not only does this not make the top 10, but... this is the highest SD? I am shocked.
RIP legend

you need to learn some music history...if it weren’t for this band, there’d literally be no “Blue Monday”, no “Planet Rock”, Coldplay’s “Talk” , Incubus’ “Are You In?”, Scissor Sisters’ “Night Work”, LCD Soundsystem’s “Sound Of Silver” (all of which sample Kraftwerk). In fact most of the bands in this rankdown may have never existed w/o their influence. In case you don’t realize, my current avatar is Florian Schneider, a founding member who was active in the band for 42 years. Sadly he died earlier this year, before Kraftwerk gets (eventually) inducted into the R&R HoF. It’s criminal they haven’t been voted in yet, although they’ve been nominees many times.

20. Stare at the Sun - Ringo DeathstarrThe song was pretty cool. The band name is even cooler, but I think I paid more attention to it because of the doggy cast music video. Even tho it was weird as F U C K I still found the strange dog scenes interesting, because they were dogs, and it all made the song sound a lot better. Once I realized this. I heard the song while viewing another tab and sure enough dropped it a few slots to #18. Number 20 sounds about right for this song. 19. Knights - Minus the BearNothing particularly bad about this song, except the fact that it's melody failed to hook me in. I think it was mainly the vocals that tuned me out. The singer sounded like he was phoning in the vocal performance. No emotion at all. Next time add the bear. 18. Vanished - Crystal CastlesNormally I like a little spacey NRG melodies inserted into music, but the part I should have liked which were the synths sounded awful. They sounded like they were under water. Almost muffled. An effect I hate in percussion, vocals and in music all together. Pity about those terrible synths because the vocals were rather enticing. 17. Confetti - Cold CaveThis was my favorite first time listen. Got all those vibes you said. Goth, darkwave, synthpop and, 80's come save me please vocals. Terrific piece of music that I download/checked on another tab even before the song had played all the way through. BTW, here is a live performance which I thought sounded just as amazing. His vocals are completely stripped of layers which makes his tones the real 80's fire. The female vocals are still present so I'm wondering were she was hiding? 16. The Robots (Die Roboter) - KraftwerkThis is another pre 80's classic that gets the PULSE shaft. You might as well just take the keyboard and smash it over my head, because years from now i still won't comprehend this ranking. 8D Actually I'm not surprised at all this one is out before the top 15. I should have seen the signs when "Electricity" made an undeserving early appearance. Anyway, this song also reminds me a lot of Telex "Moskow Discow", Also from 1979, but I like it even more because of the High Energy vibes.

Hi again! I'm quick-revealing 15-11 right now. Sorry for revealing at non-primetime hours again, but I'm really busy these days and I need to keep the ball rolling with reveals anyway! I'll try to do a better time for the top 10!
#15 is the 4th lowest SD.
It spent only one early list in the top 10, and hovered around the same range for the rest of the way.
4 top 10s are eliminated - of which 2 are top 5s. The opposition wasn't too pronounced either, though, as only 2 bottom 10s are shed here.

Of course these guys were going to be featured in another RD of mine. Glad I wasn't the only top 5!
If you have the time to, check out the video too - IMO, the dancing is great.

#14 spent time in both the top 10 and the bottom 10. The time in the bottom 10 came early, and it seemed to stabilize into the top 10 until the last 2 movements dropped it out of it.
Multiple people who are running out of top 10s are losing yet another one here, as 6 of those rankings are lost here.
3 bottom 10s are lost - but none are in the bottom 5.

3rd lowest SD at #13.
Spending only 2 lists outside the top half, this song spent most of the process hovering around its final position.
Oh? We're losing another #1 ranking, and two more top 10s. Rejoice (or lament), though, as we're not losing any bottom 10s.

Another strong showing for Greg Pusciato's side project. A real elegant if not sensual piece of dark synthpop
My condolences, Juan Carlos

We still have some big SDs ahead of us. #12 is the 4th highest of the kind, specifically.
This song spent multiple episodes inside the top 10 - no, inside the top 5, but it was dropped out of it for good around the end of the rankdown.
A whopping 9 top 10s are lost here; in fact, almost all of the top half rankings are actually inside the top 10.
What caused such a high SD? Well, there are 4 bottom 10s, including 3 LOW bottom 5s.

A simply perfect piece of darkwave. These guys are absolute pioneers in their genre - yet I don't think they receive the appreciation or the notoriety that they, in my opinion, rightfully deserve.
Ouch, this reveal hurts for me. But also for American Idiot , who has my condolences

Just missing out on the top 10, #11 is the 7th highest SD. It only spent 2 lists inside the top 10, and those movements were spent exactly at #10.
Multiple #1 rankings are lost here, as they are part of 7 total top 10s.
We're losing 5 bottom 10s, which is a pretty high amount at this point; this explains the song's high SD.

I'm generally not too into progressive rock, but this hits a damn sweet spot with me; a very melodic for a song that falls in the genre. And those harmonies in the final line of the chorus are so enjoyable
My condolences, aerodynamite and janinho

LOL I missed this whole set in the shower.
"A Day" was pretty good, but I'm still moreso attached to Xymox's darkwave material
I liked the heavy low-end emphasis of "Thrown Into The Dark".
1 3 5 7 9 11 12 16 18 30
I'm not too fussed about my 30 being in this top 10--it's still good (and at least it's not Porcupine Tree). Guessing that my 9 or 5 wins.
