I like this top ten a lot. Even my 33 is good, but I knew it would be top ten. Rooting for my 1 but I think my 2 will win

15. There Goes Our Love Again - White LiesThis was the first song I previewed form the list. I had this one in my top 10 before listening to the rest of the songs. Strong song with even stronger vocals. Really loved the vocals, and it would have stayed in my top 10 with a darker wave vibe. 14. Falling Into Me - Let's Eat GrandmaThat is some band name. I could tell right off the back this was a modern production. The best aspect was the vocals, but she could have a delivered them in a much more interesting fashion. Also I feel Modern day synths sound like they are stripped of their natural essence. they sound more like background noize than the backbone of the song. 13. Thrown Into the Dark - The Black QueenThe song has that kind of percussion intro I can blow a fuse to, but the rest of the muzic was a bit too klubby sounding for my 80's ears. the elegant aspect kinda weakened it a little for me, but it did squeeze into my top 20, because His vocals are instant 80's hard on. 12. A Day - Clan of XymoxThis band has so many darkwave wonders under their discography. This one anchors my top 10 for that ultra fast synth beat. reminds me a lot of Berlin's Sexastional classic "Sex (I'm A..) 11. Blackest Eyes - P orcupine TreeProgressive Alternative Rock really isn't my thing either, but I can appreciate one that goes a little hard on the guitars, but still has a lot of melody to spare in the chorus. Great top 10, and it's all because my actual #1 made the cut. . Our host figured it out before I sent my list, and if you are a regular on my personal weekly charts than you probably know it too.

Outstanding top 10! Both of my top 2 were amazing first listens. I wasn't sure how either would do here so it's really cool that both made the top 10. I think my #3 has a good chance of winning though really I'd be fine with any of these remaining songs taking the title.

Well, I had a big word wall for this, and I exited out of the window and accidentally lost it. F uck. Okay, quick hit points for the important reveals... (I might edit this later.) That is not the #1 I expected for "Deutschland". Hell, given some of the songs in this, it might be the most surprising #1 here. I'm still really glad it escaped the bottom ten. I thought there was a chance it could be #40. Shows what I know. The Crystal Castles song was fine, just not one of my favorites. re: Kraftwerk: BOOOOOOOOOOOOO I'm glad White Lies didn't make the top tenAs someone who has liked everything I've heard from The Black Queen, sadly, "Thrown Into the Dark" didn't do as much for me as I was expecting. Well, I thought Xymox was making the top ten, at this point. I'm shocked that Porcupine Tree was this close to making the top ten. gates ranking this at the same spot as Tom is...interesting. Pretty good top ten overall, and everything is in my top half...so I guess that's how I'll soften the blow for my lowest remaining.

Hi everyone! I'm very sorry for delaying the reveal of the top 10 - I've been extremely busy lately and haven't had much time to devote to Pulse activities. Most of the reveals are, in fact, typed up and ready to be revealed, I just need to find the time to sit down and dedicate a good hour or two to reveals. I'll do my best to do this in the coming days!

Hi everyone! I'm very sorry again for the delay in revealing this. I've been super busy lately. Let's reveal the top 10!
#10 has a whopping 8 top 10s, but somehow, none of those are in the top 5. Multiple individuals are losing bottom 10s here (3), but only one is fully clearing that range of rankings.
This song actually didn't spend a lot of time inside the top 10; only 4 movements, including the last 3 ones.

The most perfect intro to a song before the juicy beat drops

I'm not too fussed about my 30 being in this top 10--it's still good (and at least it's not Porcupine Tree). ohp well that was easy

That's not even the only time that happens to me in the top 10.
--
#9 is a low-ish SD, although it's not close to being one of the lowest ones in the top 10.
It only has 4 top 10s - including 2 top 5s, and a very high one is among those.
3 individuals will be relieved to shed a bottom 10, including 2 bottom 5s. In fact, only 5 individuals did not rank this song in their top half.

Melodically, and lyrically, this song hits like a ton of bricks. I especially like the part where it gets real noisy, almost like strong winds are blowing around - as if to mimic the chaos in someone's mind

Until shazam predicted that this could make the top ten, I didn't really think of this as a top ten contender. I figured it would do well enough, but I thought it would get tanked more than this.
This is the latest (of many installments, lately) of "Red Can't Read the Room".

#8 is the highest SD inside the top 10, and the 5th highest overall.
It spent multiple movements at #1. It only spent one list outside the top 10; most of the time, it hung around slightly above its final ranking.
We're losing three #1 rankings here. Five more individuals ranked this song top 10.
This, however, has the most bottom half songs remaining of any other song inside the top 10 -- 9. This includes four bottom 10s among which there is a lone bottom 5.

Hm, well this is the other song of this RD that I thought would be very unifying. Instead, it's the 5th highest RD. *shrug*
My condolences @humanshazam, singingrulebritannia and peacebone

This having a high SD did not cross my mind.
This is the best song I've heard from Doves so far.

#7 is a top 10 constant. Actually, a top 8 constant. This had very little movement amplitude, spending the entire process in the #4 to #8 range.
We're losing another #1 ranking here, and five more top 10s. Opposition-wise, we're losing three bottom 10s.

Just because it's not from their later material does not mean this is not awesome - the loud, thumping drums and the piano breakdown are sublime
My condolences, Red

I've never loved Talk Talk as much as the rest of you do I'm afraid, they're usually good but fail to blow me away.

#6 did not spend the entire process inside the top 10. However, it ended the process at its highest position.
Of course, another #1 bites the dust. Five total top 10s. Fourteen total top half rankings.

This is the beginning of my push to be the biggest Talk Talk fan on Pulse. Shit, I ranked it above Deutschland, and I didn't even give it a second thought.
Pure synthpop magic.

How in the world did this nearly crack the top 5? Definitely the biggest, coolest surprise this rankdown has in my opinion

#5 spent multiple lists at #1, on separate occasions. It also spent time outside the top 10, although for a very short stint.
A whopping 9 participants ranked this song top 10 - including, of course, a #1 ranking. There are just two bottom 10s located here.

Pleasantly surprised this did as well as it did. I just love the way this song begins more than anything else, just a super solid minute+ of buildup.

This has arguably become my favourite song from this band - even over their 90s classics (yeah, sacrilege, I know). I'm very glad they've made a solid return after going on an endless hiatus. Oh how I would love to see these guys live.

I feel like most of the songs they've put out since "Charm Assault" have been varying degrees of good, and this is no exception.

#4 was locked into the top 10 all the way through. However, it never made it higher than its final position, though it spent nearly half the process at that specific position.
Only four people did not rank this inside their top half - and only one bottom 10 was reported. This is also the lowest standard deviation of the rankdown.
