Don't make me wait 'til October 5th. You can blame those that like to procrastinate because this is DUE TONIGHT and yet I'm still waiting on a few to come through. Your list plus another from samo🦕 means we're now only four away from matching the same turnout from the previous rankdown. There are still a handful of previous participants procrastinators ( George Strait Junkie , ClevelandRox , Cody Wants Out... , LBTrocks , gardyfan , .indulgecountry , nickd, BackwoodsBarbie) who haven't submitted yet, so I'm hoping there's a few amongst that group who still plan on submitting. In all likelihood I won't start reveals until later into this next week, so in light of hoping to reach the goal of 20 participants I'll likely still accept any lists through the night of Tuesday, October 6th. Participants: 1. Kanenrá:ke 2. d3vin44 3. tim 4. recordyear 5. lipe 6. mamooshka 7. bboat11 8. castleoblivion26 9. dgarcia3377 10. toomuchboy 11. someguy 12. Sambalada 13. austin 14. taylor 15. SHOOTER16. samo🦕

Even though I've been back home in Louisiana almost two weeks, I just got internet back on my laptop two days ago (I've been using my phone). I really want to do this and will try to start on it tonight and have it to you by Tuesday tim! 😓

I'd love to have you on board and given the circumstances I'm happy to adjust the timeline if needed. I'm not planning on starting reveals until Friday, but either way just make sure to let me know before Tuesday night.

With the three additional lists that come in we surpassed the goal and ended with a great turnout of 21 participants! I really want to thank everyone for coming through and I'm happy to see there was just as much enthusiasm for this series as there was for the previous ones!

Welcome to the Country Ladies of the 2010s Rankdown!
Pre-Reveal Questionnaire:
1. What will be #1?
2. What songs will make up the top 5?
3. What will be #55?
4. What songs will make up the bottom 5?
5. What song(s) do you think will be most polarizing? Least polarizing?
6. Sara Evans is defending her crown as she was winner of the Country Girls of the 2000s and makes her triumphant return with "Long Way Down". Will she be able to hold on to the crown or have to relinquish it?
7. Reba has been a fierce competitor in each series as she was the winner of the 80s Ladies of Country as well as a top 3 finalist in the 90s Women of Country rankdowns. Will she be "Going Out Like That" again as a top contender?
8. Miranda Lambert graces us with two songs with one of them being the namesake of the rankdown. In the album rankdown for The Weight of These Wings, "Getaway Driver" was a top 3 finisher while “Keeper of the Flame” left just before the top 5. Which of the two songs will come out ahead this time and when might each one exit?
9. Between Maren's "A Song for Everything" and Carrie's "Ghosts on the Stereo", which of the two will do better and when might each one exit?
10. Any other thoughts or predictions?

Pre-Reveal Questionnaire:
1. What will be #1? Hmmm I don't see any obvious choices here so maybe Girl Goin’ Nowhere

3. What will be #55? Four Years of Chances
4. What songs will make up the bottom 5? Just to Be with You, Crazy Women, Four Years of Chances
5. What song(s) do you think will be most polarizing? Least polarizing? Most: homecoming queen? Least: Giving up on Your Hometown
6. Sara Evans is defending her crown as she was winner of the Country Girls of the 2000s and makes her triumphant return with "Long Way Down". Will she be able to hold on to the crown or have to relinquish it? LWD won't win
7. Reba has been a fierce competitor in this series as she was the winner of the 80s Ladies of Country as well as a top 3 finalist in the 90s Women of Country rankdowns. Will she be "Going Out Like That" again as a top contender? Nah.
8. Miranda Lambert graces us with two songs with one of them being the namesake of the rankdown. In the album rankdown for The Weight of These Wings, "Getaway Driver" was a top 3 finisher while “Keeper of the Flame” left just before the top 5. 1. What will be #1? "homecoming queen?" 2. What songs will make up the top 5? "homecoming queen," "Girl Goin' Nowhere," "Long Way Down," "Somebody Like That," "Wasting All These Tears On You." 3. What will be #55? Either Loretta Lynn or Tanya Tucker, I imagine (for better or worse). 4. What songs will make up the bottom 5? "Wouldn't It Be Great," "Mustang Ridge," "Four Years of Chances," "Send It On Down." Maybe "Things That I Lean On"? 5. What song(s) do you think will be most polarizing? Least polarizing? Most: "Fly," "Hey Heartbreak," "Tough," "American Heart," "Girl Next Door." Least: "homecoming queen," "Going Out Like That," "Somebody Like That," 6. Sara Evans is defending her crown as she was winner of the Country Girls of the 2000s and makes her triumphant return with "Long Way Down". Will she be able to hold on to the crown or have to relinquish it? I don't expect her to win this time (although it wouldn't make me mad or anything if she did. ). 7. Reba has been a fierce competitor in each series as she was the winner of the 80s Ladies of Country as well as a top 3 finalist in the 90s Women of Country rankdowns. Will she be "Going Out Like That" again as a top contender? I can see it making top 15-20 at least. 8. Miranda Lambert graces us with two songs with one of them being the namesake of the rankdown. In the album rankdown for The Weight of These Wings, "Getaway Driver" was a top 3 finisher while “Keeper of the Flame” left just before the top 5. Which of the two songs will come out ahead this time and when might each one exit?Hmm... I guess "Getaway Driver" if it did better in that rankdown. 9. Between Maren's "A Song for Everything" and Carrie's "Ghosts on the Stereo", which of the two will do better and when might each one exit?"A Song for Everything" will do better. "Ghost on the Stereo" will be around midway. I could see "A Song for Everything" making top 10.

1. What will be #1? "It Won't Always Be Like This" perhaps?
2. What songs will make up the top 5? The Blade, Fly, Dime Store Cowgirl, Girl Goin' Nowhere
3. What will be #55? "Wouldn’t It Be Great?" maybe.
4. What songs will make up the bottom 5? Drinkin', Ride Out in the Country, World Still Round, The Age of Miracles
5. What song(s) do you think will be most polarizing? Least polarizing? Most: Love Triangle, Pretender | Least: It Won't Always Be Like This, Fly
6. Sara Evans is defending her crown as she was winner of the Country Girls of the 2000s and makes her triumphant return with "Long Way Down". Will she be able to hold on to the crown or have to relinquish it? I doubt it. LWD is excellent tho and deserves top 10 at minimum imo.
7. Reba has been a fierce competitor in each series as she was the winner of the 80s Ladies of Country as well as a top 3 finalist in the 90s Women of Country rankdowns. Will she be "Going Out Like That" again as a top contender? I doubt it. [2] I could see her in the top 10 as well though.
"Getaway Driver" will be higher - probably top 20, but "Keeper" will be top 30 at best I think.
9. Between Maren's "A Song for Everything" and Carrie's "Ghosts on the Stereo", which of the two will do better and when might each one exit? I think they'll both make the top 30, but I'll say Maren's lasts a tad longer and might make the top 20.
10. Any other thoughts or predictions? I love so many of these so this is gonna be brutal! I'd give at least an A- rating to everything except for my bottom 5 or so, and even then none of them are songs I flat-out despise.

1. What will be #1? Girl Goin’ Nowhere
2. What songs will make up the top 5? Diane, It Won’t Always Be Like This, Dime Store Cowgirl, Fly
3. What will be #55? More
4. What songs will make up the bottom 5? Mustang Ridge, Ride Out In the Country, Love Me More, Just to Be with You
5. What song(s) do you think will be most polarizing? Least polarizing? Most polarizing: The Age of Miracles, Four Years of Chances, Giving up on Your Hometown Least polarizing: Girl Goin’ Nowhere, Nice Things, Diane
6. Sara Evans is defending her crown as she was winner of the Country Girls of the 2000s and makes her triumphant return with "Long Way Down". Will she be able to hold on to the crown or have to relinquish it? No. Probably close to top 10.
7. Reba has been a fierce competitor in each series as she was the winner of the 80s Ladies of Country as well as a top 3 finalist in the 90s Women of Country rankdowns. Will she be "Going Out Like That" again as a top contender? No either. Probably in top 20.
8. Miranda Lambert graces us with two songs with one of them being the namesake of the rankdown. In the album rankdown for The Weight of These Wings, "Getaway Driver" was a top 3 finisher while “Keeper of the Flame” left just before the top 5. 9. Between Maren's "A Song for Everything" and Carrie's "Ghosts on the Stereo", which of the two will do better and when might each one exit? (This is a weird comparison group tbh) A Song for Everything: Top 25. Ghosts on the Stereo: Top 15.

1. What will be #1? I agree that there's not really an obvious winner. I'll throw another vote towards "It Won't Always Be Like This", just because it winning a large rankdown like this would be the first step towards its redemption after being passed up for a radio release.... 2. What songs will make up the top 5? "The Blade", "Criminal", "Diane", "Long Way Down", "State Of Grace" are all options... Maybe "Circles" too? Not sure what to expect!!! 3. What will be #55? Yeah, Loretta seems like a contender for this... 4. What songs will make up the bottom 5? "Ride Out in the Country", "The Age Of Miracles", "Things That I Lean On", "Four Years of Chances"? 5. What song(s) do you think will be most polarizing? Least polarizing? I see Lori McKenna's song being pretty polarizing. "Ladies in the '90s", "Drinkin'", "Reckless" and "American Heart" will probably be polarizing as well. Least polarizing: "Wouldn't It Be Great?" 6. Sara Evans is defending her crown as she was winner of the Country Girls of the 2000s and makes her triumphant return with "Long Way Down". Will she be able to hold on to the crown or have to relinquish it? I think she stands a chance, but I certainly wouldn't put her as the biggest frontrunner or anything. Top 5 is likely to be the cap. 7. Reba has been a fierce competitor in each series as she was the winner of the 80s Ladies of Country as well as a top 3 finalist in the 90s Women of Country rankdowns. Will she be "Going Out Like That" again as a top contender? No, I think Reba will get stuck around #15 if she's lucky.... Might miss the top 20 if she's not lucky. "Going Out Like That" is far from a Pulse fave. I could see both being top 20 contenders, tbh. One of them might even make the top 10. I'm hoping it's KOTF!!!!! That is the FAR superior song 9. Between Maren's "A Song for Everything" and Carrie's "Ghosts on the Stereo", which of the two will do better and when might each one exit?
"Ghosts" will come out ahead! I think they must be tied with each other at a big milestone moment in the rankdown. Like maybe the winner will make the top 10 and the loser will be stuck at #11? I can think of no other logical reason to compare these two songs 10. Any other thoughts or predictions? This was such a strong list! I cannot wait to see what happens!!! I'm really excited to see how Trisha does. "Tell Me Something I Don't Know" is an absolute master class on how to JAM to a ballad

I can think of no other logical reason to compare these two songs Well, you'll just have to wait and see! Outside of any ambiguity about why this question was posed, I just happened to be rather curious about these two songs since they were overlooked as singles from their recent albums. Thanks to everyone who took the time to answer the pre-reveal questions and I can already tell you that there will be plenty of surprises (some good, some bad) along the way. I'll likely kick things off tomorrow evening with the first set of reveals and much like I've done each time with this series I'll be revealing them five at at time. Also, I know there are ongoing reveals for other rankdowns including Carrie, Tanya, and Martina, so I want to make sure I space them out accordingly so as not to overwhelm y'all at the same time.

I wanted to go ahead and jump into the first set of reveals before the grand finale of the Carrie Underwood rankdown later this evening, so I hope y'all are ready! Here's a few stats to get us started before I reveal the bottom five songs: - 498 points separate the top ranking and bottom ranking songs
- The first song to exit is also the least polarizing song of the rankdown
- Three participants will lose a top ten ranking within the bottom five
- Also departing in the bottom five will be three top 15s and six top 20 rankings
- Three of the songs in the bottom five were correctly predicted while one of the more unanimous mentions survives this set

Stats for #55:
While the first song to exit the rankdown does not have any last place rankings, it does consist of four bottom fives where it settled into very early on. This comes in as the least polarizing song as the majority of the participants put this somewhere within their bottom ten.
Best rankdown position: 30 Worst rankdown position: 55 Average position: 40.29 SD Rank: LOWEST! Ranking distribution: Top 10s: 0 11 to 20: 1 21 to 30: 3 31 to 40: 3 41 to 50: 9 Bottom 5s: 2

While I'm disappointed to see Tanya's "Mustang Ridge" out first, I'm really not that surprised given that almost every other song from While I'm Livin' is overshadowed by "Bring My Flowers Now". I did initially have that song selected for this rankdown, however it had most recently been featured in the 2019 edition of the Female "Flops" of Country Radio where it finished in the top three as well as winning the rankdown from its respective album. "Mustang Ridge" has always been a personal favorite of mine from the album and considering that it was personally written for Tanya I thought it would be a good choice for this series.

Stats for #54:
The second song to leave the bottom five momentarily sneaked inside the top 30 early on thanks to a lone top 15 ranking, however it soon settled back into the pack as it began to accumulate a handful of lower-end rankings. The majority of the participants ended up putting this down in their bottom twenty or lower.

Stats for #53:
Most of you had predicted that this next song would leave in the bottom five and so this next reveal should come as no surprise. While this only received two bottom five rankings (including one last place), the majority placed this somewhere within the top 50 but not much higher. And after just departing with our least polarizing song we now lose our second least polarizing song.

Off to a solid start. I liked the Aubrie and Loretta songs but they aren't among the best from either artist, and I didn't really care much for Tanya's.

Stats for #52:
Much to my surprise no one predicted that this next song would leave in the bottom five, so I can only assume there's going to be a handful of you that are both surprised and disappointed by this reveal. That sentiment will certainly be shared with the two participants who placed this in their top ten, but not so much the five who put this in their bottom five as well as one lone last place ranking. Other than receiving an initial top 50 ranking, this was actually one of the most consistent bottom five contenders as that is where it set up shop for the rest of its run.
