Ouch! Three discoveries that I really liked and put into my top 10 ahead of some things I know and like.

"She's Strange" was mesmerizing. The longer it went on, the more I liked it (I think the opposite was true for a lot of other songs on this list for me).

"Don't Waste Your Time" in the bottom 4 too? Meanwhile the dreary "I Just Called To Say I Love You" and "Hello" both survived? Man, a lot of you favored familiarity over quality this game...

This extra is undoubtedly one of the signature songs for this legend. When it reached the Top 10 of the Hot 100 (eventually peaking at #4), he made HIStory by becoming the first artist to have 7 Top 10 hits from one album. It also peaked in the Top 10 of the soul chart at #3.

18. Lovelite (17): ok discovery, although a bit generic production and melody. (BTW, I hadn't watched that video --WOW!)
17. She's Strange (15): another ok discovery, but with more interesting instrumental production
16. Don't Waste Your Time (7): Awwww. This was my favorite discovery. Very nice melody and instrumental (the percussion reminded me of La Isla Bonita) and strong vocals.
15. Joanna (14): This received good airplay in '84 and has had some recurrent airplay, too, although not as much as other K&TG classics like Cherish, Fresh or Ladies Night. I've never been a huge fan. It's got a good melody, but it's a bit too boring/AC for my liking.

"Hello" is one of Lionel's biggest worldwide hits, topping the charts in Australia, Belgium, Canada, Ireland, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Portugal, Switzerland, and Britain. Stateside, it topped the pop, soul, and AC charts. Lionel would later be sued by songwriter Marjorie Hoffman White, who accused him of plagiarizing her song "I'm Not Ready To Go".
