No Megan in top ten on Spotify, interesting. The album is too good to underperform!

BTSβ Spotify numbers: #7 Life Goes On β 1,077,349 plays #10 Dynamite β 957,661 plays #15 Fly To My Room β 752,584 plays #17 Blue & Grey β 727,388 plays #18 Telepathy β 716,130 plays #20 Dis-ease β 690,677 plays #23 Stay β 657,383 plays No playlisting so this is pretty much ok. Their strong suit is sales so that will take them to the top.

While I don't see any of the songs doing long-lasting damage on the charts in the US, it's obvious Dynamite surely started something that will not be stopped anytime soon. btw Stay has so much potential to become a hit in Europe - GP here still lives for EDM songs on the radio.

BTS might be able to have two top 10 songs again this week. LGO will probably go #1 due to sales and Dynamite has pretty good spins, had the largest gain in streams since BE dropped and sales are going up again.

Aren't we due for 90s throwbacks by now? The 80s had its revival in the 2010s, it's time to milk the next decade. I mean, we've had a few (Finesse comes to mind), but I'd expect there to be a lot more. The 80s have been reviving since the 90s. The number of 80s hits covered in the 90s and 2000s have been more than any 90s resurgence that have popped up since 1999.

The closest we got to a 90s throwback this year was "Rain On Me" with its house elements. Arguably DJ Regard's "Ride It" also played a bit into that sound, and I adore both songs. The 80s are fun and all, but the 90s are so diverse musically, and I'd be all for reinventions and reinterpretations of the defining genres of that decade, while still adding fresh and modern elements to them, of course. π Rina Sawayamaβs album felt very 90s-inspired to me

I canβt tell whose career βMonsterβ will benefit more. Bieber hasnβt gained much from his βChangesβ era, but his collabs have always helped. Then again, I couldnβt stand βLonelyβ; when he hits the chorus, sounds like a dying dog on its last limb. Terrible yodel.

Then again, I couldnβt stand βLonelyβ; when he hits the chorus, sounds like a dying dog on its last limb. Terrible yodel. I feel like it benefits both, but iβm not sure. We all know the Justin story this year. Shawn just had one song (wonder) that didnβt do as well as we thought it would, especially as a lead single. Coming off Senorita and If i canβt have you, itβs kind of a setback so maybe monster is the song that helps both of them in a way

Monster is suppost to be Shawn's saving grace for this album after wonder not doing so hot(a top 20 hit isn't bad usually when you're not coming off a big hit). At least Bieber has his collabs to fall back on. So my answer is Shawn.

We might get another Country song debuting top 10 this week. That would be 3 in one year.
2013-2019: 0 top 10 debuts for Country songs
I think at this point, this year has shown people need to stop worrying if Country will make it to the streaming era when it now officially has. The older Country veterans will probably never truly adjust to streaming (i.e. pulling higher streams than sales) but that has more to do with them being past the appeal of today's main music consumer (majority of heavy streamers which are younger age) which happens to every veteran eventually. You don't see 50 year old Pop/Rock/Latin/etc artists lighting up streaming with new music. The new generation of Country artists like Morgan Wallen/Luke Comb have clearly fully connected to the streaming audience.
And even many of those veterans still do get decent streams with some radio singles through Amazon Music. Miranda Lambert, Gwen/Blake Shelton, Kenny Chesney, Garth Brooks/Trisha Yearwood, etc reached top 5 on Amazon Music with singles this year.

Shawn would be fine if he just made actually interesting songs and not those boring wallpaper songs.
Camila made Senorita a hit though, so maybe Shawn's career is going downhill.

Camila did not make that a hit, they both needed each other evidenced by their efforts after the song. The relationship, the perfect sound, with the summer vibe during that time, and them coming out as a couple is what made it smash. Perfect timing. I think monster will probably smash though so he will be fine.
