Go Home - Stevie Wonder
The follow-up to "Go Home" was actually written back in 1979 and was performed on Saturday Night Live in 1983, but it wasn't released as a single until it was re-recorded for the In Square Circle album. It rose to #8 soul, #24 on the Hot 100, and topped the AC chart.

Here are a couple of extras. This song may have been one of her 7 consecutive #1s on the Hot 100, but it didn't quite get there on the soul chart, stopping at #3. It's a remake of a 1977 hit by George Benson.
Greatest Love Of All - Whitney Houston
Next, the first Top 10 hit on the Hot 100 for this freestyle group from New York City, peaking at #8. On the soul chart, it rose to #3. Allure and 112 would send this back into the Top 10 in 1997.
All Cried Out - Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam w/Full Force

looking forward to the results. Too bad there is no obvious last place "We are the World" entry here, though IMO there is one tone deaf entry.

THANK YOU, QUEEN for waiting for me. When I saw this list and thought I had missed it, I was so crushed, but I was away from Thurs - late Sunday and had every intention of doing this. The lead-up to my friend's wedding back East (I was a groomsman) was super busy also, but wowwwww 1986 was one of my earliest memories of music. 1984 is where it actually started, when I was requesting my family buy me vinyl or cassettes by specific artists, but 1986 was a REALLY good year.
Also, I had no idea who sang Do You Get Enough Love but I forgot all about it and LOVED that song as a kid. Also, I know every ad-lib to Closer To Close LOL. Oh...and that Meli'sa Morgan cover of Do Me is SUBLIME. WHEW. It's like how I feel when Mariah remakes some songs and I ALMOST forget about the original.

But first, a couple of extras. This song was featured on the soundtrack of the movie The Jewel Of The Nile. It peaked at #6 on the soul chart and #2 on the Hot 100. It also topped the charts in Australia, Belgium, Canada, The Netherlands, Ireland, Norway, and Britain.
When The Going Gets Tough, The Tough Get Going - Billy Ocean
Next, the comeback hit by a legend from the Rocky IV soundtrack. It peaked at #10 soul and #4 on the Hot 100.
Living In America - James Brown
