In other news, Kid Cudi is set to release Man On The Moon 3 on Friday. Not sure what the chances of an album bomb from this are like, but it could happen. wouldn’t it be wild if Phoebe Bridgers made her second appearance on the hot 100 in the course of a month... main pop girl incoming |

I Hope has been pulled from pop radio. I think you mean promotion has ended. This "pulled" stuff started when Rain On Me stopped being promoted at Pop. Radio still played it for weeks after. |

I assume we’re all expecting AIWFCIY to hit #1 (again) this week, right? If so, this would make Mariah only the second artist to hit #1 with the same song in two separate chart runs (the first being Chubby Checker with “The Twist”, which hit #1 in 1960 and again in 1962).

We only got up to 5 Xmas songs last Christmas week.
Getting 6 on the third to last week would be really something. Could we actually get a 100% Xmas T10 this year? Hmm.

I thought the industry had decided that decades ago? Not sure why there’s continuous insistence each and every week for Billboard to “do something.” There’s plenty else for Billboard to “do something” about. I guarantee more people are listening to these Christmas songs than any other song currently in the top 100 right now. Why should they be hidden? |

Does anyone know if, outside of "Hound Dog"/"Don't Be Cruel" and "Come Together"/"Something", there's any other double A-sided singles that topped the chart where both sides were actually, yunno, BIG? Like, big enough that both of them would make top 10 if they charted separately, like the aforementioned singles did? I assume 2Pac's "How Do U Want It"/"California Love" fits the bill?
Edit: Also, anyone knows if any of those double A-sided singles would NOT have hit #1 if not for the help of the points of their lesser 2nd side?

^"Into the Groove" appeared on the B-side of the "Angel" 12-inch, arguably the catalyst behind the majority of its 600,000-plus in sales. Billboard charted it on Black Singles, though not the Hot 100. Variety charted "Groove" separately on its Singles Sales chart, where it reigned for six weeks ("Angel" peaked at 7 there). Both were top 10 hits at U.S. top 40 radio.
"Candle in the Wind 1997" was only listed as the A-side for the first three weeks of its chart life, though there is no doubt that that's the track that people were overwhelmingly buying the single for, even after the airplay had fizzled out and "Something About the Way You Look Tonight" had lots more play.

Toni Braxton's "Let It Flow" was huge on AC and R&B radio at the time that the Double A sided "You're Makin Me High / Let It Flow" was at #1.
"I'm Sorry" and "Calypso" by John Denver were concurrent radio hits when the double sided single hit the top.
"How Do U Want It" was shunned by Top 40, but was culturally big and a moderately big hit at r&b / Rhythmic.
"Angel" didn't top the chart.

Hoping Mariah gets 4 weeks at #1 (3 seem likely). WOuld be nice to know only Mariah, Cardi and Meg served 4 weeks at #1 in 2020.

Does anyone know what year sales stopped being 'relevant' for the Hot 100? Would have been at some point in the early 2000's, before the Digital Songs chart came along, right? Also, when did the Digital one turn practically obsolete?
