Since this is the last dated week of 2020 for the Billboard charts, what are the biggest take aways from the music, the trends, the charts, and the artists this year?

I think "Rockin" is more of a threat to Mariah than "Willow" (which I don't see getting anywhere near #1). "Rockin" is ahead of Mariah on iTunes and is neck and neck on Spotify (like an 18k difference yesterday). Hopefully Mariah gets a few weeks at #1 this year regardless!

willow is #1 on itunes, #2 on apple music, and we havent even seen spotify #'s or radio #'s... ya'll are making bold claims.

willow is #1 on itunes, #2 on apple music, and we havent even seen spotify #'s or radio #'s... ya'll are making bold claims.

Its lead on iTunes isn't as big as a new Swift song usually would be. We will have to see how it holds. It needs a large total to overcome the airplay gap. We will also see how it competes with holiday songs in streaming over the weekend.

This is the most interesting thing about folklore. The album failed to spawn a smash like past Swift records, but sold & continues to sell incredibly well. People that wouldn’t typically listen to Swift did listen to folklore. It’s impressive.

Side note, “betty” is Swift’s longest charting hit on both the country genre chart & radio chart as a lead artist since 2013’s “Red”, which I think is interesting.

I'm sure this is not something that happens only in the US, I know that in Colombia, Christmas tunes starts to play on the radio in September and in many Latin American countries, Spain, Philippines...

Don't know about most european countries (UK, France, Germany, etc) but I guess they also play Christmas songs before December even begins.

Yeah the love for Christmas music is hardly an American concept. We might be a bit more into it than others, but it's not like Christmas music doesn't do exceptionally well in other Christian-popular countries.

And judging from the UK charts, they start listening to Christmas music even earlier, and consume it in even greater quantities, than do Americans.
