"Do You Think About Me" is K.T.'s most recent offering as it was the only new song she recorded for her final studio album, Simply, in 2015. I wasn't sure how this would fare here and it all but exceeded my expectations as it was a very consistent top 10 contender. Despite four bottom 5 rankings, the majority of the participants placed this somewhere within' their top 10 including three top 5's from bboat11 and .indulgecountry as well as a second top ranking from Kris Kringle.

Have to drive an extra mile or two What else can I do, I don’t want to see Cause someday I’ll see somethin’ I don’t want to see And it’ll only break my heart all over again Can’t afford it my friend, this’ll have to end It’s the only heart I got And it needs a little more time to mend 9. “New Way Home”Released: 1993 Album: Greatest Hits: Songs from an Aging Sex Bomb Peak Chart Position: #64 Total: 147 Average: 9.80 Std Dev: 4.69 (10th Lowest) {Songs Remaining}80’s Ladies Come Next Monday Do Ya’ Hold Me I’ll Always Come Back Live Close By, Visit Often Silver Tongue and Goldplated Lies Younger Men

"New Way Home" was another consistent top 10 performer and even snuck into the top 5 a few times during its run. This was well received overall as it only garnered two bottom 5 rankings all the while picking up a handful of top 10's. It also picked up a trio of top 5's from bboat11, someguy, and a second top ranking from McCreerian. I'm not sure why K.T. decided to re-record this for her Greatest Hits compilation, but either way I've always enjoyed this song and am glad to see it do as well as it did.

I can still hear your footsteps in the hallway I still hear your voice behind the door Hear the crying of my heart as it beats at a time As it waits for the one it will never see no more
I remember the first time I saw you Your clothes were black as mine When you talked me your talk, you made me wish you could be mine But somehow I knew something was not right 8. “Silver Tongue and Goldplated Lies”Released: July 1996 Album: "My Roots Are Showing..." “New Way Home” has always been one of my favourites of hers. Had it been released as a single a little bit earlier, from its original album, I wonder if it would’ve been a much bigger hit. By 1993, she was basically finished having hits at country radio.

"Silver Tongue and Goldplated Lies" is such a JAM! I have loved this song ever since I first heard it way back when and am beyond thrilled that it performed so well here. This came in as the seventh least polarizing song overall as it only received two bottom 5 rankings while the majority of the group put this in our top 5 or top 10. Going into this I was keeping my expectations rather low for this song, however y'all really came through with some taste!

K.T's first number one country hit "Do Ya'" leaves us next and along with it Kris Kringle loses his top ranking song. Despite its seven top 5 rankings, this ended up coming in as the fourth most polarizing song thanks in part to the four bottom 5 rankings. Of those, both bboat11 and LBTrocks put this in their bottom 2! Nonetheless, this remained a consistent top 10 contender and even snuck into the top 3 in the middle of its run.

Before I reveal the final song to miss the top 5, I should mention that both of these songs were separated by only a mere point. In fact, our next song only missed the top 5 by two points. Let's find out what that song is!

Despite Kanenrá:ke's prediction that this would be the first song out, K.T's second number one hit "I'll Always Come Back" exits just before the top 5. I've always considered this to be one of K.T.'s signature songs, so it's a bit disappointing for me to see it miss the top five because I just as easily could've put this as my #1. Speaking of, ccarter1023 because our next participant to lose their top ranking song. The majority of the group placed this somewhere within either their top 10 or top 15 with Kanenrá:ke being the only one to place this in their bottom 5. This remained a steady top 5 contender early on, but it ended up sliding back outside of that as more lists came in.

When I left here this morning I was bound and determined I was never gonna come back never, never I was running I was running from you darling I was running from my job I was running from some wrinkles and no cream well stop And got as far as the edge of town then I turned my car around And headed back to you 5. “Hold Me”Released: September 1988 Album: This Woman Peak Chart Position: #1 Total: 133 Average: 8.87 Std Dev: 6.86 (HIGHEST!) {Songs Remaining}80’s Ladies Come Next Monday Live Close By, Visit Often Younger Men

Leaving next is K.T.'s Grammy Award winning song "Hold Me" which also comes in as our most polarizing song. The majority of the group actually put this within' their top 5 including a top ranking from bboat11. That said, it ended up getting weighted down by the four bottom 5 rankings which included a last place from LBTrocks and a bottom 2 from .indulgecountry . This garnered enough support early on that it even flirted with the top 2, but as more lists came in it began to settle back some. I read a funny anecdote about this song from Joe Galante (he was the head of RCA’s Nashville division in the '80s when K.T. signed with the label) and I wanted to share it with y'all:

Before I reveal our next song, I want to let y'all know that the next two songs actually were tied in points so the tie-breaker went to the song with multiple number one rankings. I have to admit that this song exceeded any expectations I might've had for it as I never would've considered it to be such a strong top 5 competitor.

Women peak at fourty, and men at ninteen I remember laughing my head off when I read that in a magazine (I was twenty at the time) Now I'm staring fourty right in the face And the only trouble with being a woman my age, is the men my age 4. “Younger Men”Released: 1982 / 1987 Album: 80’s Ladies Total: 131 Average: 8.73 Std Dev: 5.48 (7th Highest) {Songs Remaining}80’s Ladies Come Next Monday Live Close By, Visit Often

"Younger Men" bows out just before the top 3, but as I mentioned above it is actually tied in points with that song. This had a lot more passion for it than I was expecting as it accumulated eight top 10 rankings as well as four top 5 rankings, including two second top rankings from .indulgecountry and Kanenrá:ke. That's not to say it was universally liked as both Troublemaker and Kris Kringle put this in last place. This song has been with K.T. for her entire career as she originally recorded it in the early 1980s when she was signed to a singles-only recording contract with Elektra. Upon signing with RCA Nashville, she re-recorded this song for her debut album and then also re-recorded it again for her final album Simply.
