Come On Come On could really use an album rankdown, too. (As long as “Only A Dream” gets its due, haha). Personally I would 100% be here for that because that album is such an iconic album! tim you should do that album alone on top of the main rankdown you plan to do for her. I'd love to do an album series for Mary, but other than maybe handful of us I'm not sure there would be enough interest for one. In regards to a future rankdown for her though I can tell you that no singles from Come On Come On would be left off (I've half a mind to just include the entire album lol!). I wanted to approach her rankdown a bit differently because there are quite a few singles that were released in the 2000s which weren't really reflective of their parent album...for example I'll be including "The Age of Miracles" in her rankdown because it's a song she has long performed live even though it wasn't released. The same goes for "Between Here and Gone" as I'd likely be including that. Anyways, y'all need not worry as I will make sure not to leave anything of significance off!

Can’t wait to do this and see what’s included. All of her 90s singles and “This Shirt” please (which how was that not a single...probably one of my biggest surprises haha)

I don't even fancy MCC very much, but even I would still do her album series so not sure why you think turnout would be abysmal, lol.

Well there certainly appears to be more interest in doing an album series for her than I originally thought! I’m actually thrilled to see that because she’s very much an albums artist whose best material is tucked away in the album tracks.

I can kinda see why anyone would think turnout for MCC would be low. Patty, Pam, Lee Ann, and Jo Dee have had rather low turnouts overall. MCC would definitely be in the same vein as most of them as far as familiarity for most here. Either way, I'm excited for whatever we get when it comes to her cause I've long wanted to dive more into her music cause she is so good!

I don’t want to tell anyone what to do, but I would be all in for a MCC album rankdown as well as a singles one. #staymighty #angusandwhitekitty

I mean, it's not like MCC is gonna get like 20 or 30 people ranking her, but there's a solid 8-12ish of us that are assured to do almost all country RDs that crop up, no matter who they are for, lol.

Yeah, I'm one of these 8-12 people and while MCC is another one that my mom didn't listen to much (and thus a name from a longer time ago that I don't know of because what late 80s/90s music I listened to as a kid was from her library of music), I would absolutely do an album series from her, especially after she popped up in the last Women of Country RD. I've missed a few of the Pam/Jo Dee rankdowns and the tail end of Lee Ann, but having this Icon series for example is great for me, because I get to hear older artists who brought a lot to the genre, most to all of them I'll likely have low or no familiarity with, and even if I might not personally prefer the artist's music when all is said and done, I can still come away with a deeper appreciation for them and with background info from the host, I might also come away with more knowledge of the genre (my expertise is rooted squarely in like CU and TS lol) I only miss rankdowns if I just don't have time for them, lol.

Missed all the reveals but I was fascinated reading the results and seeing which songs connected with those who weren't familiar with K.T.! I adored this woman and am happy that those who maybe didn't love everything at least found a song or two to love As for MCC YES!! I think she's one of the only artists in my top 50 most played not to have a rankdown and I'd love to see it happen. And while 'Come On Come On' is usually considered her best album 'Stones In The Road' is my favorite! Post 90's 'The Calling' is her top imo!

I meant to offer some final thoughts! I am SO happy to see "Hold Me" end up in the top 5 at least! I had no idea what to expect from that song, but I found the story to be super engaging, so it ended up being an easy #1 for me after a few listens through the list. Beautiful song, with a beautiful sentiment. I can't help but imagine how riveting it would have been if somebody like Reba had gotten a hold of it in the '90s! "Live Close By, Visit Often" was easily the catchiest song here. It had a melody and a hook that stayed with me immediately, while most of this list blended together on first listen. I wasn't sure if it would be the type of song that everyone hated because it stands out, or loved because it stands out, but I knew it would be one or the other. Thrilled to see the majority fell towards the "love" end of the spectrum, like me! "80s Ladies" is of course her signature song, so it is the one I expected to win all along. It is a bit too of-its-time-period for me to fully enjoy it the way that some of you do, but it is a fitting winner, and I am glad to have finally taken the time to expose myself to it more! Thanks for hosting tim!
