The final track of the album is also the first to see itself out which in turn also happens to be our least polarizing song. As you can see from the trajectory, "Amarillo" was pretty much on track to finish last or at a minimum in the bottom 2. For the most part, the majority of the group placed this towards the back of their lists with three participants getting a perfect ranking including myself, Cody Wants Out..., and Kris Kringle. Both Kanenrá:ke and someguy were the only two who placed this within their top 5. This in fact wasn't my initial song for last place and I kind of regret switching them around at the last minute before I put my own list in. The first song I had in that position actually performed a lot better than I was ever expecting, so suffice it to say it won't be leaving for a bit lol.

Despite starting off just a spot shy of the top 5, "What a Day Yesterday Was" found itself in the bottom 2 near the middle of its run and would remain put from there on out. Coming in as our third least polarizing song, six participants placed this in their bottom 3 with both George Strait Junkie and ClevelandRox putting last on their list. Much like our previous song, this did garner two top 5 rankings this time from kw9461 and .indulgecountry. I admittedly am somewhat disappointed that this found itself down in the bottom 2 as I've always considered it to be one of the albums better tracks.

Rounding out the bottom 3 is “Dancin’ All Around It” which was actually a consistent top 5 contender for the first half of its run. That was due in part to its first three rankings all coming from within the top 5 including a top 2 from Kanenrá:ke. It wasn't until the last half of its run that it encountered a speed bump as its first bottom 2 came in from ClevelandRox briefly setting it back. While an additional top 2 ranking from .indulgecountry would bring this one back into the top 5, it would find itself pushed back further as it picked up a last place from gardyfan. Because of that, it wasn't ever able to recover and found itself at its lowest position once the dust settled.

Exiting first is "A Woman's Love" which of course is the original recording of the song. As many of you already know, Alan re-recorded the song for his 2006 album Like Red on a Rose and released it as the albums second single where it peaked inside the top 5. While no one put this in last place, it did garner three bottom 2 rankings while in turn also picking up a pair of top 2 rankings from George Strait Junkie and gardyfan. It would also pick up an additional three top 5s as well. Despite that, this was never a top 5 contender and mostly maintained its position just a couple spots of that over the course of its run.

Winning the tiebreaker is the albums second single, "Right on the Money", which in fact only found itself at its highest position of its run towards the end. And on that note, someguy becomes our first participant to lose their #1 song as it was his ranking that allowed this to jump over "A Woman's Love". That might be a hard pill to swallow for some of the others as you can tell just looking at the trajectory that this mostly rode out much of its run down in the bottom 3. Speaking of, four participants lose a bottom 3 including .indulgecountry who finally sees his last place song exit. Back up top this did pick up a handful of top 5 support as five others placed it there. It should also be noted that this was the first single from the album to exit in Alan's singles rankdown as well. That leaves three singles remaining intact along with two other album tracks.

I didn't think Another Good Reason would get to the top 5 since most of the album cuts I like are usually hated on here.

Talk about a surprise! Despite clocking in as our second most polarizing song, “Another Good Reason” manages to sneak into the top 5 and in turn is the second-highest album track. This garnered a lot more support than I was expecting as it picked up a handful of top 5 rankings including two #1s from Kanenrá:ke and George Strait Junkie as well as a top 2 from ClevelandRox. That in turn was enough to keep this hovering just outside of the top 5 for the first half of its run before finally settling more comfortably into the top 5 in the last half. Not everyone was too keen on this song as bboat11 loses his last place while I lose a bottom 2 (although I initially did have it in last place before swapping it out last minute). In hindsight, I think I would move this back down to last place because it's long been one of my least favorites from the album. I never knew it was so well-liked!

Only one album track remains! Will all three of the remaining singles manage to land inside the top 3, or will "Hurtin' Comes Easy" be able to outperform one of them?!

The albums first single “I’ll Go On Loving You” bows out before the top 3 and actually only finished one point ahead of "Another Good Reason". It likely comes as no surprise that this also came in as our most polarizing song with half of the group placing it somewhere in their top 3 and the other half in the bottom 2. There really seems to be no middle ground when it comes to the song as you either love it or hate it! In the lovers camp, we have ClevelandRox and gardyfan losing their #1 while @cjashaby75 departs with his #2. For the haters, we have a pair of bottom 2s along with three last place rankings from Kanenrá:ke, someguy, and kw9461. Despite all of that, this still managed to remain a solid top 5 contender for the majority of its run.

“Hurtin’ Comes Easy” bows out first in the top 3 and in turn is our top performing album track! Not only was this one of our least polarizing songs, but it is also the first song revealed to be a top 5 contender for its entirety. You could actually say that this was much more of a consistent top 3 contender for the majority of its run as that is where it remained in the last half of the rankdown. And thanks to some of its early support from the get-go, this initially found itself in the top 2 before jolting to the back of the top 5 as a head-scratching ranking for last place came from castleoblivion26. For the most part, the majority of the group found room for this somewhere in their top 5 including a top 2 from someguy. When the album first was released, I thought for sure this was going to be a single but alas it never was. Based on how well it performed here, my gut feeling about this being a missed single opportunity stands true to this day and I can't help but wonder if it would've aged better than say "Right on the Money".

Exiting in the same order as they did in Alan's singles rankdown, "Gone Crazy" bows out first leaving "Little Man" as the runaway winner and our second-least polarizing song. While "Gone Crazy" did maintain its top 5 status for its entire run, it did check in as our third most polarizing song which does come as somewhat of a surprise to me. Why might that be the case? Well, look no further than to both Kanenrá:ke and someguy who planted this down inside their top 2. Other than those two questionable rankings, the majority of the group did in fact rank this somewhere within their top 5 including a trio of #1s from myself, castleoblivion26, and bboat11. There really was no completion though as once "Little Man" found itself at the top, it would have a firm hold on that position for the remainder of the rankdown. Not only did all but one participant put this in their top 4, but it picked up a trio of top 2s as well as four #1s from Cody Wants Out..., .indulgecountry, Kris Kringle, and kw9461. Who was the lone holdout you ask? That's ClevelandRox down there all by himself with a lone bottom 3! I know that the feelings regarding the album were varied with some finding it to be better than expected while others were left quite underwhelmed. While I don't consider it to be one his best personally, I do often find myself revisiting not just some of the singles but also a handful of the album tracks as well ("Hurtin' Comes Easy", "Dancin' All Around It", "What a Day Yesterday Was"). Either way, thanks again to all of the participants and to those that followed along!

And on that note, I'm going to keep things moving along into our next album as we're only four participants shy of what we had previously. Given that, I'm going to give anyone else that remains interested 4 MORE DAYS to work on Under the Influence with the due date being Thursday, November 4th. That way I can hopefully complete the reveals for it over next weekend and officially pause the series until after the new year. Participants for Under the Influence: 1. tim2. Kanenrá:ke3. I enjoyed this album a lot more than I thought I would. "Right On The Money" has always been one of those songs that seemed loved that I couldn't stand and I stand by that to this day. I just don't care for it. That being said it has grown on me slightly and isn't a station changer like it used to be but it is still not something I'd ever go out of my way to listen to
"Gone Crazy" is easily my favorite single of Alan's entire career. How anyone could tank that song and call themselves a Country fan is really a headscratcher to me. Not terribly upset to see "Little Man" be the #1 though as that song is incredible as well and like "Gone Country" has everything that makes me love the genre as much as I do.
Look forward to seeing how Under The Influence goes, I'm hoping my #1 can surprise me and be the #1 even though I highly doubt it will be

I think this will be one of the most interesting albums we have ever done a rankdown on. I can see my number 12 winning it. I can see my number 1 finishing last. Honestly I can see this rankdown ending in just about any way possible. Any song could be 1, any song can be 12.

Honestly I can see this rankdown ending in just about any way possible. Any song could be 1, any song can be 12. I do think that this one is pretty solid overall considering that it's an album of cover songs. Alan did a great job of making the songs all his own while at the same time not taking away anything from the originals. Aside from the singles, there are some obvious standouts which I'm expecting to do well...but we'll just have to wait and see!
