I'm not sure how others feel, but outside a handful of tracks, this was a pretty big clunker of an album. I see why fans were disappointed upon it's release.  |

I'm not sure how others feel, but outside a handful of tracks, this was a pretty big clunker of an album. I see why fans were disappointed upon it's release. Well, I'm not sure if I would use that particular word to describe the album as the disappointment mainly came from the fact its sound was aligned more with adult contemporary. That's in stark contrast from the neotraditional country style that he had established over the course of his career and therefore the album just didn't resonate with his fanbase. After having revisited the album, though, I do think it has aged better than I would've thought and found myself enjoying it much more now than I did back then. It's officially Valentine's Day eve, so what do you say we go ahead and jump into the reveals?! Bottom 3 are coming right up. |

“As Lovely As You” is the first song to exit of which myself, Kanenrá:ke, and Cody Wants Out... all get a perfect ranking on as we each ranked this last. In fact, all but three participants placed this in their bottom 3 which in turn meant that this was always going to be a contender to come in last. And it just so happens that is exactly where it spent the the majority of its run. While I myself do quite enjoy this subdued track, I think that it coming towards the last part of the album doesn't do it any favors and therefore is more than likely to get overlooked. |

With the exit of "Bluebird", Kanenrá:ke becomes our first participant to lose a top 5 while both bboat11 and gardyfan shed their last place. This also spent much of its time in the bottom 3 as the majority of the group placed this in or just outside of that. |

The albums lead-off track, “Anywhere on Earth You Are”, is the last to exit in the bottom 3 and with it both myself and gardyfan are the next two participants to already lose a top 5. This has always been a standout track from the album for me, so I'm rather disappointed by its overall run which unfortunately was mostly in the bottom 3. Speaking of, five participants ranked this there including castleoblivion26 who loses his last place. |

Okay, I'll admit that "clunker" is a strong term to use (and, ergo, not the most accurate), but I was left pretty darn underwhelmed outside of the singles and a few album tracks. Some of these songs I ranked really low didn't have much of a melody imo.
Hope to see "Don't Ask Why" and "Good Imitation of the Blues" out soon. Also wouldn't hurt to see "Don't Change on Me" and "Wait a Minute" leave, even though I liked those only slightly more than the former two.

Yours truly becomes the first participant to lose their runner-up as “Don’t Ask Why” leaves next. While this did in fact start off in the bottom 3 thanks to castleoblivion26, it mostly rode out in the middle of the pack up until the final moments when it picked up two additional bottom 3 rankings from .indulgecountry and Cody Wants Out.... That in turn sent this to the back of the top 10 where it would finish. This has always been one of my favorite tracks as I absolutely adore the piano-laden production. I do wish this at least was able to finish in the middle of the top 10 and was a bit disappointed to see it fall back towards the end. |

“Had It Not Been You” exits next and along with it takes a pair of top 5s from both 🌺CountryLineDancer and Kanenrá:ke. This is the first song not to pick up any bottom 3 rankings, however, as the majority of the participants placed this somewhere in the middle of their top 10. That in turn makes this our third least polarizing song from the album. |

This in fact was a solid top 5 contender for the majority of its run as castleoblivion26, someguy, and Kanenrá:ke all ranked this there. It struggled a bit towards the end, though, as it would pick up two bottom 3 rankings from Cody Wants Out... and 🌺CountryLineDancer who actually placed this last on his list. |

It's a one-two punch for .indulgecountry as he now loses his runner-up just after seeing his #1 exit. Despite this picking an additional trio of top 5s from gardyfan, Cody Wants Out..., and 🌺CountryLineDancer, “Where Do I Go From Here" still struggled to find its grove as it mostly spent its time towards the back of the top 10. That was mostly due to it picking up a pair of bottom 3s from both myself and someguy who sheds his last place. Overall, this clocked in as our third most polarizing song! |

Some of you might recognize "Don't Change On Me" as it was originally recorded by Ray Charles in 1971 for his album Love Country Style. While this was an early top 5 contender, it mostly spent its run just a couple spots why of that and in fact only missed the top 5 at the end by a mere three points. Three participants also placed this within their top 5 with someguy being the highest with a top 3. This was also only our second song not to have any bottom 3 rankings as everyone placed this somewhere within their top 10. |
