Everything I Love Album Rankdown Results
Here are some pre-reveal questions to get us started:
1. Three songs were all vying for the top spot. What will be #1?
2. What will be the two highest placing singles? Two lowest placing singles? (Little Bitty, Everything I Love, Who's Cheatin' Who, There Goes, Between the Devil and Me, A House with No Curtains)
3. What will be the highest placing album track and will any of them make the top 5?
4. What will be in last place at #10?
5. Which songs will be most polarizing? Least polarizing?
6. Any other thoughts or predictions?

1. Three songs were all vying for the top spot. What will be #1? Who's Cheatin' Who?
2. What will be the two highest placing singles? Two lowest placing singles? (Little Bitty, Everything I Love, Who's Cheatin' Who, There Goes, Between the Devil and Me, A House with No Curtains) "Who's Cheatin' Who" and "Little Bitty" highest, "There Goes" and "A House with No Curtains" lowest.
3. What will be the highest placing album track and will any of them make the top 5? I wanna say "Walk On The Rocks" but maybe "It's Time You Learned About Goodbye".. but no they won't make it there.
4. What will be in last place at #10? "Must've Had A Ball"
5. Which songs will be most polarizing? Least polarizing? Most "There Goes"? Least "Everything I Love"
6. Any other thoughts or predictions? Honestly adore each and every track here so I can't phantom how it's going to play out or how my heart will survive this one!

Good evening, y'all! Let's go ahead and kick things off with our bottom 2 songs of which both were clear frontrunners for.

“Must’ve Had a Ball” was the clear frontrunner for last place as it never once deviated from that position over the course of its run. In fact, seven participants all put this at the bottom of their list with only someguy brave enough to rank it in his top 5. The other remaining participants all still placed this within their bottom 3 making this the second least polarizing song from the album overall. This song has always just kind of stood out like a sore thumb on an otherwise great album and I can't help but wonder the backstory of it lol. It's not very often that you get to hear a country song mixed in with some brass instruments and a banjo to boot, so it all makes for a very interesting listen! Also, fearlessarrow pointed at that this sounded like a George Strait song made only worse by the fact that he wasn't singing it. That thought had never honestly crossed my mind before, but I could totally see George pulling off a song such as this one as he's known for having a good sense of humor.

I've stood behind you And I've laid beside you But I won't do that anymore Cause I'm tired of being Just here when you want me Tonight I'm walkin' out that door 9. “It’s Time You Learned About Good-Bye” Track: #10 Songwriters: Alan Jackson Total: 95 Average: 7.31 Std Dev: 1.70 (LOWEST!) {Songs Remaining} A House with No Curtains Between the Devil and Me Buicks to the Moon Everything I Love Little Bitty There Goes Walk on the Rocks Who’s Cheatin’ Who

Leaving next is “It’s Time You Learned About Good-Bye” which was also a clear frontrunner to finish in the bottom 2. Six participants all wound up placing this in their bottom 3 which included a lone last place from George Strait Junkie. While someguy loses a second top 5 right out the gay, luckily he wasn't alone this time around as he was joined there by both gardyfan and 🌺CountryLineDancer. While I've always found this to be a rather catchy song, it still has always fallen down towards the bottom tier as its hard to stack up against some of the stronger tracks. I do have to admit, though, that after revisiting this album again for the rankdown this is one song that I haven't been able to get out my head! I still don't think I could find room for it any higher on my list, however.

I'm gong to pause there for now, but I'll be back later this evening to unveil the next few songs! Any guesses as to which one of the six singles will miss the top 5?!

I'd prefer to see "A House with No Curtains" out soon, but there might be enough passion to send it into the top five. Maybe the title track will miss it?

The right way may not be easy The right road ain't always straight Son, please don't follow the footsteps That lead to where I am today 8. “Walk on the Rocks” Track: #8 Songwriters: John E. “Walk on the Rocks” becomes the third of four album tracks to exit in which it remained a consistent contender to finish in the bottom 3. Five participants ranked this as such including a trio in last place from gardyfan, LBTrocks, and fearlessarrow. This did manage to pick up some top 5 support, however, including a top 2 from Kanenrá:ke. That just wasn't enough, though, to move the needle on this much further as 15 points separated this from our next song. This was probably my favorite rediscovery if you will as it just wasn't a song I related to back in my youth when this album was released. With the passage of time and some more wisdom behind me, I found myself coming back around to this song quite a bit over the course of revisiting the album and it in turn has become my favorite album track. I was really hoping that this would be able to escape a bottom 3 fate because it's such a great song, but in the end it just wasn't able to overcome those low rankings.

It shouldn't come as a surprise that “A House with No Curtains” is the first single to exit as it was also the first single to exit from the album in Alan's artist rankdown. In fact, aside from this and "There Goes", all four of the other singles reached the top 30 there! This was also the only album of Jackson's career to produce six singles in which it peaked at #18 on Billboard's Hot Country Tracks chart, breaking a streak of 27 consecutive singles by Jackson that had peaked in the top 10 of that chart. Coming in as the most polarizing song as well, there was very little middle ground in regards to the rankings as it was pretty evenly split between those who put this in their top 5 and those who ranked it in their bottom 3. It also picked up a handful of top 3 support with both George Strait Junkie and castleoblivion26 placing this in their runners-up position.

Now you don't have to worry About what comes to pass This old world may wear out But my love's gonna last If they ever build that highway to the moon I'll just find something else to promise you 6. “Buicks to the Moon” Track: #3 Songwriters: Alan Jackson, Jim McBride Total: 70 Average: 5.38 Std Dev: 2.40 {Songs Remaining} Between the Devil and Me Everything I Love Little Bitty There Goes Who’s Cheatin’ Who

“Buicks to the Moon” becomes the fourth and final album track to exit leaving five of the singles intact for the top 5. Unfortunately that also means both .indulgecountry and kw9461 become the first two participants to lose their #1 song. While they were joined by a few others inside the top 5, most of the rankings were middle-of-the-road with only two coming from within the bottom 3. This in fact picked up enough support early on to keep it inside of the top 5 for much of its initial run. It settled back, however, in the last quarter and just wasn't quite able to leapfrog back over and into the top 5. That said, it actually only missed that mark by a mere 5 points!

Between the Devil and Me Everything I Love Little Bitty There Goes Who’s Cheatin’ Who
I'm going to stop there for tonight, but I'll pick right back up where we left off tomorrow and wrap things up! Until then, any predictions for how the top 5 might play out?

Ugh every reveal was like a knife to the heart! :( Ok so "Must've Had A Ball" I knew was going to go early, it stands out from the album too much and really does have a quirky sound. Still I love when Alan does something odd like this! "It's Time You Learned About Good-Bye" may just have the catchiest melody on the whole album, it worms it's way into your head and doesn't leave! Always adored how he sings "… Cause you taught me a lot about leavin'" Ok guys "Walk On The Rocks" is too damn good to leave in the bottom 3 :'( I can't personally relate to the story of the song but I know enough who can. Just always loved it even as a kid I understood the advice Alan was trying to convey. "A House With No Curtains" is still one of my favorite metaphors I've heard in a country song. Love the sadness of the heartache having nowhere to hide. "Buicks To The Moon" is just fun! The truly gives ITYLAG a run for catchiest melody on the album! The chorus as a kid was just fun for me to build in my imagination. With Gold, Money, Ships, time travel, stars and flying cars! I don't think I fully understood it as a kid but it's almost even more clever to me as an adult! My #10 is still in and I ain't mad at all, I'd like to keep the title track for as long as possible though guys!

I didn't get to make any predictions in time, but this is going just about how I expected! The songs that have left have all mostly been really strong, but it is just hard for these album tracks to compare to the firewall of huge amazing hits that this album had to offer. Overall I found this to be the strongest album we have done yet though, and every one of these could have been in my top 5 on a different album (except for maybe "Must've Had A Ball").
"House With No Curtains" does always manage to be one of his more forgettable singles to me, but that does't mean I hate it or anything. It's still better than anything Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, etc. have ever managed to put out. The bar for Alan's singles is just a LOT higher, lol. For him, forgettable is a pretty strong condemnation.
Predictions: 5. There Goes 4. Who's Cheatin' Who 3. Everything I Love 2. Between The Devil And Me (This one feels to me like the most "forgotten" of the songs that are left, but I have a feeling it might prove to have some impressive staying power yet!!) 1. Little Bitty

This times 1,000. This was the first AJ album I had as a kid and I used to listen to it constantly, and "Buicks To The Moon" was such an earworm that it has always been my favorite, even if I didn't fully grasp how clever the song was back then. If we do an album cut rankdown after the album series, you can pretty much put that one down as my #1. As far as the top 5 goes, it's a bit of a crapshoot. "Who's Cheatin' Who" is probably the favorite, but I'd love to see the title track take the honors.
