I was technically a smidgen behind in the daily reminders and was slowly trying to catch up to where I should be, so with that said I'm going to go ahead and knock out the next one as we've already added a couple of more participants to the board. As I mentioned in the previous update, there will be a bit of leeway between that and the final last call (as in possibly a day or two). As of now, the only previous participants missing are bboat11, 🌺CountryLineDancer, kw9461. and Kris Kringle as well as taylor is terrified who very much stated they'd be back for the final album. Thanks to taylor is terrified, we've managed to make it to double digits which is still a bit short of where I wanted to end up as we wrap up the album series. This is a bit of longer album, though, which in turn might have scared off some of the previous participants that would've submitted otherwise.

Lists were to be due today and since I've done plenty of reminders for this, I'm going to go ahead and announce that this will be the LAST CALL for anyone that would still like to do this. I'd like to get this started by the time the weekend rolls around, so the last call is really only good for another day (possibly two).

Thank you taylor is terrified! It's been a pretty intense couple of weeks. In good ways and bad.

The good is that I have been feeling super productive at work lately! We are wrapping up the year within the next couple weeks, of course, but I am currently 100% caught up on my grades! As the department head for our high school team, I have also taken on the primary responsibility for putting together our master schedule for next year, because we're thinking about how we could try to mix things up for next year. And on top of that I am applying for new jobs, because I would rather teach in-person than online 😂

And then there was my sister's college graduation last weekend, so a bunch of family came to town and we were celebrating her all weekend, and it was a great time!

The bad is that my dad was diagnosed with lymphoma back in February, and we just found out that the chemo hasn't been working much at all, so they're trying to figure out if there is anything they can try next... :( Apparently there are not a lot of chemo options for this specific lymphoma, so after this one hasn't worked he may already be at the point where he's at the mercy of whether or not he can qualify for experimental trials. That stress is honestly why I have hardly been around here since like mid-February, and keep falling behind on Pulse stuff..

Bowing out first is “I Was Tequila” which honestly is a song that I wouldn't have pegged to be a contender to finish last at all. Much to my surprise, though, this failed to pick up much in the way of support with only Kanenrá:ke placing it inside his top 10 and a few others just outside of that. And while no one put this in last place on their list, the majority of the group did in fact rank this somewhere within their bottom 5 including a trio of bottom 2s from gardyfan, .indulgecountry, and bboat11.

I think the song is hindered most by the fact that it not only comes at the tale end of the album, but it is also clocks in at over fine minutes in length. While I myself did initially have this ranked down inside my bottom 5 as well, the song proved to be a grower and one that I found myself wanting to come back around to more than I was expecting. Because of that, it found its way a bit higher on my list with each edit before finally landing inside my top 15.

That was a solid guess as it was one of our earliest contenders for last place. In fact, it spent the majority of its run down inside the bottom 2 as seven participants overall ranked this down inside their bottom 5. Of those, that includes a last place designation from castleoblivion26, Cody Wants Out..., and taylor is terrified. It manage to pick up some support along the way, though, with both .indulgecountry and gardyfan giving this a top 5 nod along with a pair of top 10s from George Strait Junkie and bboat11. That swing in rankings alone was enough to make this the third most polarizing song from the album.

The tail end of the album takes yet another hit as “Chain” becomes the next track to exit. This too saw the majority of the group place this somewhere within their bottom 5 which included a lone last place from someguy. Because of that, this also became one of our last place contenders as it spent the majority of its run there once we reached the middle part of the rankdown. It was given a lifeline, however, from taylor is terrified who is the only participant to put this in their top 5 while both Darkest Hour and .indulgecountry put this in their top 10.

I too initially had this ranked last place and only moved it up a notch with my final few edits. It still remains one of me least favorite songs from the album, though, and more than not will likely always skip over this one for the most part.

We bid adieu to yet another song from the last quarter of the album as "I Do" exits next. This wasn't always a contender for the bottom 5, though, as it spent the first half of its run at or near the top 15. However, it ended up slipping back into the bottom 5 towards the middle of the rankdown where it would remain for the duration of the time. Surprisingly, only three participants ranked this outside of their top 15 which included a bottom 2 from Cody Wants Out... and a pair of last place rankings from gardyfan and .indulgecountry. While it did manage to pick up some top 10 support, the rest of those fell outside of that and it in turn just wasn't able to gain much traction to push it any higher.

I should note that this is our first of two ties from the album with the initial tie-breaker going to the song which has a #1 ranking. Who is going to be the first participant to depart with their top-ranked song?!

According to the story behind the song, it was never Alan's intention to even put the song on the album and even when he recorded it he assumed it would be a bonus track only. But, the label wanted the final cut put into the mix with the rest of the album and so it was lol.

Rounding out the bottom 5 is "This Heart of Mine" which also happened to be tied in points with our previous song. The tie-breaker ended up going to the one with the highest ranking which in this case turned out to be a #1 from .indulgecountry. This just never could seem to find a spot to settle in as it yo-yoed up and down over the course of its run. While it did manage to make it just outside of the top 10 early on in its run, it mostly spent its time at or near the top 15 and only settled back outside of that in the final moments of the rankdown. You can thank Kris Kringle for that as he joined Kanenrá:ke, bboat11, and castleoblivion26 as they all placed this in their bottom 5.
