Good Days kind of reminds me of Better by Khalid, at least with a similar vibe. Does anyone remember where it peaked on radio?

Over 6.1 Million views for the music video of "Save Your Tears" in its first 24 hours! Highest debut of the 'After Hours' era! Hopefully it'll re-enter the top 200 on Spotify tommorow as it nears the top ten on iTunes.

Good Days replay value is insane. Maybe thatβs why itβs doing really well on streaming

^Future/his label are on point with the certification of this single. One of very few songs/albums that are up to date. As soon as it reaches a new level it gets a new certification. It has beed (re)certified 9 times within less than a year.

strongerq I want to live in a world where the RIAA automatically certifies songs/albums as soon as they reach a new certification mark.

THIS. If the RIAA is still so concerned with making money from the records they certify, they can set up a system where they send labels the bill for certifications for the artists on their roster at the end of each year or better still, change their messed-up set-up that only allows labels to certify records. I know many artists would gladly foot the bill to have their records certified, if only for the bragging rights that would provide. One of the reasons labels go so long before updating the certifications for their artists is because they tend to forget. Too many artists, too many songs, too many albums to keep up with. There are too many artists who are undercertified with their songs/albums, some of which haven't been updated in 10/15 years. It's so sad.

^Same thing is true for the ARIA charts. The advantage there is they also certify songs and albums. Their charts actually show the certification that something has.

The RIAA's current system towards certifications is really flawed.

Regarding all-time lists- some pre-1992 blocks of years were weighted equally, while 1992-present hits were at one time weighted equally. However, the rise of streaming, and big hits' slow descent down the chart, resulted in an adjustment on that.

Uptown Funk has to be getting close to 2x diamond. possibly, but probably not that close. it went from 9x platinum to 11x platinum between July 2015 and October 2016, so assuming it slowed down significantly since then, I'd guestimate it should be at ~16 or 17x platinum (without really looking at anything else).

But it has zero impact on the actual chart though.

It used to be "1 million copies sold." Now it's...x copies + y number of streams(*z weighting).

I think that a chart should be about that chart and only that chart. there's tons of changes need in the overall industry do we list them all on a weekly chart? What's the connection? None. right now the info on the hot 100 is a permanent record of that song for That week. that info doesn't change. Position, writers, label etc. An RIAA listed cert is probably outdated within weeks. It therefore serves no purpose as anyone looking at an old chsrt is getting false outdated misleading info. go ahead and change all the music problems in the world, just leave them off the charts.

Not reg Hot100 but has anyone seen the latest BB Hot rock & alt chart? After Taylor's album bomb sent good older tracks to recurrent, it's filled with ass music. On top of that Taylor's tracks are hardly rock/alt π

I think we could very well get a R&B revival soon. With SZA's track unexpectedly smashing on Spotify to "B.S." having a pretty solid performance on airplay, it seems like we're slowly building up to it.
And of course, let's not forget both "P*$$y Fairy (OTW)" and "Slide" being minor hits last year, as well as Summer Walker getting an album bomb with "Over It" in 2019 - an album that ended up at #17 on the Year-End.
As a huge fan of the genre, I couldn't be more thrilled for it! β€

If R&B is making a comeback, hopefully we also leave dirtbags like Tory Lanez and Chris Brown in the past

If R&B is making a comeback, hopefully we also leave dirtbags like Tory Lanez and Chris Brown in the past Tory Lanez hasn't scored any proper hits as a lead artist since 2015/2016 with Say It & Luv respectively. I don't think anyone has to worry about seeing him high on the charts unless he's lucky and scores another feature placement on a song that does well like he did with the Whats Poppin Remix last year. Chris Brown won't be going anywhere anytime soon, so you might as well get used to it. No Guidance (2019/2020), Go Crazy (2020/2021). He's due for another hit later this year.
