I always forget to whom this weird way of pronouncing words (is it elongation of vowels, I don't even know) is originally attributed, but it comes across as sooo precious, twee, and, worst of all, affected. These girls listen to indie singers and all say, "I wanna sound like THAT! It sounds so raw, badass, whatever!" It's the strangest phenomenon. I know Julia Mushmouthmichaels does it, Demi adopted it, Billie, Lorde. Even Taylor has let it creep in. That said, I am a firm believer of if the music sounds well put together, I'm down. I really like both of Olivia's songs so I will definitely give the album a chance.

It’s referred to as Halsey-voice a lot, but I think the indie-girl voice was popularized by Lorde.

drivers license was cute and deja vu is my favorite song of 2021 so far (it's so brilliant!)
But I hope we are getting some diversity with this album, she cannot sing similar songs with similar lyrics and structures for a whole album
That would be so lame and this full length project is the true test if she'll make it or not

After the first listen I found it quiet jarring how the momentum from the great chorus disappeared with the 2nd verse. But other than that, another good track.

Love "Good For You" (she needs to diverge from the lyrical theme of a bitter breakup with the next single tho) and its Jennifer's Body inspired video. It's "Driver's License" >> "Good For You" >> "Deja Vu" for me. Interested to hear the rest of the project!
