yep. it was her first (of an impressive 10, so far) No. 1 hit on pop radio. even there, though, "Teardrops on My Guitar" had reached No. 7 a year prior.

Thanks for the correction. "Change" was such a fluke - only charting for three weeks on the Hot 100 and not promoted to radio - and "Love Story" hit the top ten so soon thereafter that it was easy for me to forget about it!

My Head and My Heart has to be the first pop song in a while SOLELY propelled and charting thanks to airplay.

And not in a Bieber or Maroon 5 sort of way, those acts still have some streaming or sales traction. Even compared to other Ava Max singles, they at least charted on Spotify charts. It was tiny but it was there. I've NEVER seen My Head & My Heart impact any streaming chart.

But I also still really like the song so I hope it becomes a hit lol.

positions longevity is pretty impressive, it'll be just 2 weeks shy of tying with thank u, next for Ari's most weeks in the Hot 100 Top 10 (15 for 'positions' counting 02/20 while TYN got 17).

I'm kind of shocked with how many Top 10 hits she's had Ari has never broken 20+ weeks in the Top 10.

radio likes established names instead of new artists. Conan Gray’s “Heather” flopped at radio despite great streaming, for example. Ellie Goulding’s “Worry About Me” spend several weeks in the Top 40 despite doing nothing anywhere else because of name recognition. They’re very stingy in that way

the song just got added to TTH on Spotify on Friday and popped up on Spotify Global Top 200 and UK Top 200 since. hope the US is next!

she’s never had good longevity. I’m not sure why, but her recent album eras & single releases being short probably have something to do with it. Before that, idk

Yeah, I haven't seen that figure anywhere at all.

It was confirmed by nielsen. They told one guy that does predictions on twitter. Although, they were off by 3k for the digital sales so it's possible they could be slightly off with the CD's, although it'd need an additional 7k CD's to go #1 unfortunately.
