Morgan Wallen released an apology earlier this week. There hasnt been much backlash unlike other celebrity apologies. Obviously he isnt immediately forgiven but hopefully he stays true to his word in stepping from the spotlight and bettering himself, and at least he fully accepts the responsibility and doesnt want to be defended. Again, it remains to be seen if he's sincere and actually changes but I do hope that he can. Morgan is a pussy. He made it private so that it only funnels to his fanbase and turned off the comments.

I know itβs only been ~8 hours, but yikes, Duaβs new song isnβt doing all that well. #55 on iTunes, #772 on AM. Maybe things will improve by the end of the day, but as of now, this isnβt a good sign. It's quite common for Dua's releases, they're usually slow-burners. Recent Eg: Levitating PS- I appreciate the fact that unlike many estd stars who extensively depend on their stans to make their songs into hits (evident with their huge debuts & gradual slide into obscurity), her hits are mainly due to their own merit & feel legit

^To note, her highest debut has been Break My Heart at #21, but that was helped by Future Nostalgia being released that week. Other than that, Don't Start Now has been her highest non-album release week at #30.

Morgan is a pussy. He made it private so that it only funnels to his fanbase and turned off the comments. It's also visible through his Twitter - which he didn't turn comments off And the top reply is a white man telling him "it's all good bro" and talking about the double standard of "certain" people being able to use the word and others not. If you are going to make an apology video to the masses it should be easily accessible. Putting it on private disables the video from being able to trend and be searched up regularly. Don't use the same tactics Beyonce did when she dropped Formation for your apology. Not during Black History Month!

Later that day, Spotify account clarified that they were talking about Buss It remix with Travis Scott. Welp, that's the last time I listen to hip hop Twitter and wow, what a disappointment.

Lil Tjay ('Mood Swings', 'Pop Out') and 6LACK's "Callin My Phone" is already at #9 on AM (and it's been like 6 hours~) A snippet of it has been teased for quite a while with great fan response to it's nice to see it do well right out of the gate (as opposed to Lil Tjay's slow burner hits). Also #77 on iTunes US (while being #30 in Canada, #26 in Australia and #28 in the UK) so the fans are really showing out lol. The song is up to #4 on AM.
Plus Lil Tjay posted this regarding Spotify streams so far (they are Global btw) like an hour ago. This will be an interesting week

Where did you get Sunday from? I see an owl and nothing else.
That's probably the surprise release Spotify was hinting about.

An album called "Certified Lover Boy" dropping on Valentine's Day... - sounds like a Drake thing to do. π
Come forth rumoured collaborations with Roddy Ricch, Ariana Grande, Bruno Mars, and/or Post Malone. Any of these would be a win in my book.

I don't doubt that Drake might drop in Valentines Day considering the fact that his album will be named Certified Lover Boy.

Lil tjayβs Spotify numbers are shaping up to be huge. I predict CMP will go #1 at some point. If not this week, then definitely within the next month or so. Of course, that's also contingent on Drake's rumored release on Sunday that could block the song from #1 entirely if we're to believe it'll be God's Plan levels of huge.

This will be an interesting week Just took a quick glance at this instagram stories and he kinda posted his Spotify growth and I took screenshot receipts because I'm kinda weird and this type of stuff never really gets shared, anyways so why not: 12 hours ago it was #6 on Apple Music Spotify (real-time): 2,474,815 streams Spotify Global (to me, this was posted 7 hours ago, so that's 9am EST / 6am PST) Spotify (real-time): 3,570,662 streams Spotify Global (to me, this was posted 4 hours ago, so that's 12pm EST / 9am PST) // Apple Music: #4 Spotify (real-time): 4,121,094 streams Spotify Global (to me, this was posted 3 hours ago, so that's 1pm EST / 10am PST) // (lol maybe 3?) Spotify (real-time): 4,500,307 streams Spotify Global (to me, this was posted 2 hours ago, so that's 2pm EST / 11am PST) // Apple Music: #2 The first receipt I saw of Calling My Phone went #1 on Apple Music ~27 minutes ago = 4pm EST = 1pm PST Still a very long day to go to collect more streams. Go 6LACK & TJAY! (8 more hours to go for EST) receipts.

Reality is her songs start out slow because there isn't much interest in her music, and end up sticking around thanks to extensive radio and playlisting.

Not really doing numbers like a few other select songs on the album. Honestly kind of thought it would be bigger on AM in general.

FWIW, Don't Start Now and Break My Heart both debuted in the top 30, so at least in the buildup to her last album, there was legitimate interest from the American GP when those were released. However, I do see where you're coming from, as that process was the case for Levitating and her 2018 singles.

So we will have two number one debuts in a row. Some people have been complaining about lack of movement at the top of the charts so they're probably happy

They really need to get rid of these website digital sales, CD's & vinyls tactics. It's pretty evident it's being taken advantage of & mainly just works to benefit the major fanbases. Unfortunately, sales are dead and we really should just let streaming overtake at this point. Mass not buying is not an accurate reflection of actual sales. Or at least weigh sales down at this point.
