I always like Yukika, but this one actually blew me away after one listen. She's so good. Waiting on a War is the worst single of Foo Fighters' career.

Hmm this one is close. Wasted on the Moon was a very strong first listen, I'll definitely be coming back to it. But I never get tired of Let Down, think I'm gonna give that one my vote but it could really go either way.

Wow every first listen in this round is really good. I wouldn't expect myself to like Turning of Our Bones as much as I do, but this is like, great. I love the instrumental especially, if this were a purely instrumental track I'd still be pretty hot on it. I do quite like Night Traveler, almost forgot they existed so I'm glad that this was here to let me know they have a new album. The song is decent, still think I prefer Burn or 1984 though. As long as this track is, it does feel kind of meandering at times, I think the first leg goes on a bit long. Still a track I'll come back to though.

I found Is It True to be a horribly annoying track the first few times I heard it, but it has grown on me a bit. I like the beat, even if the chorus is still kind of a flop. Odd Eye is good, I need to listen to more Dreamcatcher, I like their fusion of k-pop and metal guitars. The chorus really pops on this one, but there are some questionable detours in the verses that I think could go over better. Still a good first listen I'll come back to though.

Dance Alone is ok, kinda has a city pop flavor to it I like, vocals aren't great though. While I do appreciate a song about Neopets in 2021, the keys were just a little too overly punchy for me. Catchy chorus though.

Kicking things off with my pick! "Lovemonth" has such an addicting chorus/post-chorus section and the production is great; it's one of my favorite songs released this year so far. "Waiting on a War" was ok but it doesn't come close to "Lovemonth" for me.

Halo Kitsch - “(Wasted) On the Moon” (Au$tin, #3) vs. Michigander - “Let Down” (wamdjones, #4)
"(Wasted) On the Moon" has a nice groove to it and it was a good first listen. "Let Me Down" was pretty pleasant in the first half but it really took off for me in the second chorus when the synths came on in the background.

Arab Strap - “The Turning Of Our Bones” (Geometrical, #3) vs. NIGHT TRAVELER - “Ocean Cabin” (Stranger, #4)
The background instrumentation in "The Turning of Our Bones" is pretty cool, and honestly I kind of like the voice in the talking-esque rap (? singing?). "Ocean Cabin" had nice vibes and the second part is amazing but the first part which is relatively uneventful drags on too long for it to fully keep my attention throughout the whole song.

"Is It True" is pretty underwhelming as a Tame Impala song. It was once one of my least favorites on The Slow Rush but it's grown on me. Dreamcatcher is interesting in the K-pop world since they're a pretty unique group doing more rock/metal-oriented music and they've built up a solid following. They're not like my favorite K-pop act or anything, but I respect what they do and their music is pretty good - "Odd Eye" isn't an exception.

"It's Over" had nice instrumentals/production, but overall as a song it didn't stand out a ton to me. I personally haven't really gotten on the LOONA hype train but "Star" is a fun bop.

Really groovy bassline in "Dance Alone", I liked the vibe a lot. The electronic production in "Cyberpet" is cool but as a song I think "Dance Alone" is the stronger of the two.

"Peur des filles" has a really chill but groovy production, it was a nice discovery. "Plastic Hearts" is a solid track as well and is one of the best album tracks on Plastic Hearts imo. Ugh I want to vote for both.
