Man I've been trying my hardest not to be too critical but how is it taking you nearly 2 weeks to post 3 songs?

Sorry about not getting back to this rankdown. I want to finish this soon, it's just that I've really been slacking lately - and I've got long work hours, so I've been putting this off. I've been long suffering from poor motivation, but I want to change. Hopefully, I can finally get these last three out today, I'm not sure if I can promise it. However, check for around 8 PM tonight for the final 3. I'll try to later post a list of additional extras later too, and then final stats. I still want to make more rankdowns, but I'm aware that I need to change my habits of putting stuff like this off, so my next rankdown is only a 50-song rankdown. Hope everyone is doing well. Man, 14 of us put this in the top 10, just wow! Almost everyone loved this. And for a good reason. It sounds a bit different than most Beach Boys stuff but in the best way possible.

I had completely lost hope of it ever happening. I thought one way or another they would always be tripped up on the path to the finish line. So glad to be wrong, especially for a perfect song like this!

Thank you all for being a part of this. I know I really took way longer than necessary for this rankdown, and I do want to continue to make more rankdowns, but I really do want to change my habit of procrastinating on these and really get them out more quickly. My next rankdown will be 50 random songs, and it's already out. (None are from the 60s, either). I might want to do another 60s Hot 100 rankdown at some point, I don't know which one Id do next, but it should happen eventually. I like how the rankdown turned out, minus me stalling on it. Definitely tons of great songs this year (and a few not so great ones, like the green beret song). But I think the good ones outweighed the bad by alot. It could be viewed as the first year Modern music officially had become a stronghold. It's interesting to think that someone who graduated this year would likely be 74-75 years old now, yet the music will still be recycled through generations. I'm still very appreciative that so many people stuck with me, staying active even despite my shortcomings as a host. Anyway, cheers. I should be getting final stats and a final list of extras for the year coming later, hopefully I won't forget. |

Thanks valleyghost for an enjoyable rankdown. Appreciate the ingenuity and all the interesting extras. Very solid top 10. Outside of some extreme clunkers and some extreme headscratchers that somehow didn't make the Top 100 (Wouldn't it Be Nice, This Old Heart of Mine, Turn Turn Turn), 1966 rankdown had some incredible songs. |

Expected but totally deserved winner, one of the few songs that I think I could genuinely listen to for an hour. Though I'm currently laughing at the fact that I put The Sound of Silence top twenty and was still the second lowest rank. Thanks for hosting such a great retro year!
