Butter isn't a bad song and their US popularity rise over the years is definitely amazing, but let's not lie to ourselves here. If website sales were banned they would NOT go #1. Allowing the same set of fans to buy 50+ copies EACH is the most ridiculous and broken billboard flaw ever. In an effort to prove that sales really aren't dead they're allowing some of the most blatant fraud seen in the last few years. It is NOT an accurate representation of music consumption from the audience and that's the whole point of the billboard charts Not to mention they've had multiple opportunities over the past year to get rid of them - they could have easily announced getting rid of D2C/physical sales for song charts last month after Dynamite finally exited (and if it were up to me, I'd shift them over to the Digital Song Sales chart and convert that into a general Song Sales chart). Instead, I guess Billboard is more interested in getting engagement from fans so that they can keep making coin. At least Rolling Stone is still an option, and I doubt they'll debut at #1 over there.

Also why do BTS stans and Army care so much about how popular they are in the United States. It doesnβt really make sense since theyβre not American acts. Itβs like Americans worrying about if the NFL is the biggest sport in Europe but just glossing over their impact in America and vice versa with the Europeans worrying if soccer is the biggest sport in the United States. I doubt theyβll ever be as big as American acts here in the US (Post Malone, Drake, Grande, Swift, even Olivia now) but there is no doubt theyβre the biggest things to ever come out of Asia/Japan BTS stans and Army want BTS to be popular in the United States because that is what BTS themselves want. They grew up idolizing US artists and being able to penetrate the US market and "make it" here is everything to them. The fans know they want it and will clearly do anything and everything to make it happen. It only matters to Army because it matters to the boys. And also it's more money--if you're a musical act, why would you NOT want to make it in the music industry here? I've never heard or seen any musical artist NOT want to be popular in the US. Have you?

So Levitating was really the Hotline Bling of the weekly chartsβ¦ Not really, the closest thing I can come up with to compare to Levitating is Ellie Goulding's Lights, which got blocked from #1 on its 34th week by Whistle in 2012. But that was more of the result of a slow climb, rather than a resurgence. Don't look now, but the next Levitating might already be here. Forever After All, which peaked and debuted at #2 in November, is on track to post a 20% gain in points in its 30th week on the charts. If FAA continues its resurgence, it might become the best comparison to Levitating. Man how did I forget Forever After All hit #2? That is still unbelievable to me and Iβm happy did Luke did that but it completely left my mind.

Bruh, lil Nas performance was OK @ best but has improved (not talkin abt live vocals, it's non-existent π) compared to those previous awful award show performances. You consider dat one of the best the show has seen? Seriously? Lmao, ppl need to tone down on over-praise. I'm talking about talk-shows and live TV performances like SNL, not the big award show performances that have a bigger stage and budget. Performances for TV shows are routinely hampered by the small stage, audio issues, and aren't usually that interesting to watch - choreography, backgrounds, and lighting is limited given the stage obviously. Of the recent SNL performances, the only ones that I really remember being interesting was Frank Ocean purely for his vocal performance, Halsey being able to create a mural while performing Eastside was different, and Kanye's performance of BLACK SKKKNHEAD for the lighting and energy. I would put LNX among the better ones recently.

Even though I've cooled down on MONTERO since it's release, the performance should go down as one of the best in SNL's history. Why? I mean I get that we haven't seen that from LGBT+ on SNL, but apart from that angle I don't see anything particularly special/great about the performance. The majority of performers have given better vocals, and artists from Janet Jackson and more have given better choreography and such. Bruh, lil Nas performance was OK @ best but has improved (not talkin abt live vocals, it's non-existent π) compared to those previous awful award show performances. That's a lot of shady streams being taken away? Were people trying to VPN into the US to boost that stream count? Army knows how to stream. They know how streams, sales and radio works better than any fandom out there. But you know what's shady? This In the own home country, where they just had the biggest streaming day for any act and are #1 on every korean chart. Even Bieber is higher than her in Korea. Also BTS had more than 1M streams in India yesterday and they also #1 in all those countries. Spotify removed just enough streams so she still could be #1 on Global Spotify. She is definition of industry plant. And Spotify US? In all countries it was really big jump at least 30% difference from Dynamite. But in the US only 4.9%? It's just no realistic. They also still didn't updated streams for Butter and it shows >1000. It's been more than a day. You know all of this is shady but since she is your precious darling and you clearly don't like BTS, you will say nothing.
