Why do you guys forget that bts is the biggest global act and they dominate the east and is where they get their main support. They have a bigger reach than western artists Well if we want to get technical. Internationally, the biggest act would actually be Bad Bunny. Before Save Your Tears was released as a single, YHLQMDLG was the most streamed album last year. In fact, Dynamite was exactly the 50th streamed song last year. Perhaps their the biggest foreign act in the US, but globally it's a bit different. Also as an Asian, "dominate" the east is a bit overselling it. Japan's market is heavily centralized that focuses on their own acts, BTS does chart but they have their own market. Same deal with China. And in other countries, BTS is big, but so are BLACKPINK, SEVENTEEN, TWICE, G(I)-IDLE, Red Velvet, even MAMAMOO and IU have sizeable fanbases. In South Korea, for the past few months, Brave Girls actually had the top songs on Melon (South Korea's own streaming service). Asians know more than just BTS, is what I'm saying. While Bad Bunny may be the biggest artist in the Latin world, he’s nothing compared to the entire eastern hemisphere on BTS’ side. Even if you add the fact that Drake is the biggest artist on the western hemisphere, even his apple music and Spotify numbers don’t compare to the massive sales and Youtube numbers that BTS brings in. There’s way more of a population in Asia as well, about 4.5 Billion people compared to the Americas 1 Billion. |

The BTS fandom probably grew by a third at least since the release of Dynamite, so it will be interesting to see the growth when the full data comes in.

I'm guesstimating 400k+ for Butter. One thing the ARMY's know how to do is buy. It’s more like your underestimating 😭. There’s no telling with the BTS scale of sales. honestly I'm not really sure myself at first i thought 500k and up but settled with 400k then 300 you're right there's no telling😅. |

Butter is at #82 at Apple Music. There's something wrong with Butter on Apple music. When you play a playlist it skipping the song or is playing like only 20 second for some reason. People were writing to apple but it keeps happening to a lot of people. |

"SOUR" seems to hold well on AM, with 3 songs in the top 10 - should translate well for Spotify numbers.
Unsure if "Butter" will pull 300k sales unless remixes come mid-week like it happened for Dynamite.
Polo G/Wayne song not doing much on AM... it's getting outstreamed by the new City Girls single.
42 Dugg and Pooh Shiesty might notch some debuts with their respective album releases.

Polo G's new track not doing much is a bit surprising. He just nabbed a #1 debut for RAPSTAR, you'd think that would give him a bit of a boost in popularity going into his next project, especially considering it's still holding up well on streaming. Not sure about the albums for 42 Dugg and Pooh Shiesty, as they're obviously going to get overshadowed by Olivia, so they probably won't net as many debuts as they would on a normal week. At the very least, I expect a boost for 4 Da Gang. |

Their label is hosting global streaming parties everyday for the next 7 days through both Spotify and Apple Music. Butter is expected to have a massive radio push. If it stays on the chart with streaming and radio, is it then legitimate for you guys? I’m not sure how any of this works. I guess it would be as legitimate as any of these songs being held on the chart through radio mostly. Anyway it’s only day 1. I predict this thread to be about 100 pages by next week.

Butter would be also be a great way to end AAPI heritage by having three weeks in a row of acts of Asian descent topping the charts.
