"Because He Lives" leaves on the heels of S&T, thereby eliminating My Savior tonight within just a couple reveals of the elimination of My Gift. I mentioned in the last rankdown that I really like the light uptempo vibe of "Nothing But The Blood Of Jesus" because it adds a lightness that was otherwise missing from the album, and this is the other song on the album that comes closest to matching that vibe. The only reason this song is this low has got to be the mentions of Jesus, because there is simply NO WAY that this is more sonically difficult to get through than something like "Thank God For Hometowns" or "Leave Love Alone"

None of āHome Sweet Home,ā āBecause He Lives,ā or āJoyful Joyfulā deserve to be this lowā¦especially when That Terrible Song That Is Always Skipped And Is The Worst In Her Discography is on this very same list. What a tragedy already.

My bottom 3 was on the bottom 5 so that's great news
When you said someone was losing their #1 on the very first cut, I really got scared thinking it could be me lol

Hi everybody! I am so sorry for the delay with this one! Getting this school year off the ground has been absolute insanity... To make matters worse I teach at an online school, so staring at a screen nonstop for work has made it very difficult to continue staring at a screen nonstop for Pulse in the evenings. Plus I live on the west coast, so by the time I finally stop working and have dinner at like 8pm, it's already pushing midnight for everybody else. Plus last weekend one of my childhood best friends got married, so I had to travel for that. Anyway, I owe you all an update, so I'm just letting you know that I will be resuming this very soon! Life is still crazy, but I don't have anywhere to be this weekend, so I'll finally have a nice chunk of time to sit down and do Pulse things!! Definitely plan on this being finished in the next couple of days!

"Thank God For Hometowns" is not terrible by any means, but it is definitely one that stands out as a bit of a snoozer in contrast to her career. This one has gotten harder for me to get through with every passing year, as it is just soooooo boring... It got its fair share of love, however, including a couple top 5s from ClevelandRox and tim!

"We're Young And Beautiful" is by far the most dispensable song from her incredible debut album, at least to me. (And I am definitely in the majority there, considering how well every SH track aside from this one has done in this album tracks series so far). That being said, this is a perfect album, so even the worst song on it was able to make my personal top 20 here. It wasn't all that popular to the majority though, picking up a wall of ranks in the 20s that effectively prevented this from ever climbing into the top 20 despite the fact that about half of us put it there. This sees a second top 5 loss in a row for ClevelandRox , while schnetzka is unfortunately the second person to lose their #1. Typo loses a top 5 as well, although that is low-key hilarious to me after he spent the entire last rankdown s**tting on all the actually good Some Hearts tracks This song actually loses a tie, despite the #1 rank The next song has a #1 rank as well as a top 3, giving it the slight edge!

Ugh, I still cannot even begin to fathom why "Who Are You" is so hated... I am absolutely obsessed with Carrie's vocal here. The way she belts out that E5 in the bridge is quite literally my favorite vocal moment of her entire career. It wasn't universally hated by any means, as it got enough love to break pretty strongly into the top 20 on two separate occasions near the beginning and end of the submission process, but both times the progress ended up being undone by low ranks.
It's definitely not my #1 album tracks of Carrie's career, as there are at least a handful in our last rankdown that I would rank higher than it. But in a rankdown of her tracks that we already rejected, this is by far my goat š

"Leave Love Alone" is legitimately AWFUL This song is nothing but her chanting the title over and over again. Where the hell is the appeal in that??! At least a squirted diarrhea turd like "That Song That We Used To Make Love To" has a melody and instrumentation that makes sense for people who hate country music to love, but this one has no such excuses.

"That Song That Nearly Made The Top 20 Despite Everyone Ranking It In Last Place" is a line-in-the-sand song. People quite literally either love it or hate it. So it should be no surprise that this bows out as our most polarizing song! It also spent nearly as much time inside the top 20 as it did outside of it, and rose and fell about as steeply and frequently as the California Screamin'.

We kick off the top 20 with our first MULTI-#1 loss!!! toomuchboy and taylor is terrified are the unlucky ones in this scenario. Although tbh all of us who have lost our #1s so far can probably take solace in the fact that the early #1 losses seem to be quite evenly distributed so far š We all suck, not just a couple of us!! "Little Girl Don't Grow Up Too Fast" is the bonus track from the Target edition of the Storyteller album. I've always thought it was kind of a shame that this is just a bonus track, as I think it is really catchy. It's definitely a touch on the generic side, but it would probably be a little more popular than it is if people actually knew it. That chorus melody always gets stuck in my head. This started out as a really strong contender, especially since one of the #1 rankers was our first participant. So unfortunately it quite literally had nowhere to go but down...lol.

I never have, and probably never will, understand the hate "That Song That We Used to Make Love To" gets. Probably the best song off of Cry Pretty, barring maybe "Low" which is also superb.

The Blown Away album has definitely proven to be the weak link of this rankdown as far as her regular albums are concerned! Just outside the bottom 10, we have already eliminated every song on this album aside from "Cupid's Got A Shotgun". "Nobody Ever Told You" is the penultimate one to bow out.
To me, this has honestly always occupied the same sonic niche as "Do You Think About Me". It's like the B-side to that song. Inferior, but similar. It is inoffensive fluff, so I'm glad it escaped the bottom 10, but it feels like a good time for this to leave now.
