I’ve always adored "Who Are You"!! It, "Blown Away," and "See You Again" are actually the only songs from BA that I fully love (CR and Storyteller-onwards--or, really, "Something in the Water" onwards--are where the *majority* of my fandom of CU is at, tbh). Really happy to find the song has a few other fans out there. <3

"Mexico" is a really heavy-handed song so I have to be in the right mood for it and it's not anywhere near a favorite of mine among her catalog, but it's still a catchy bop and Storyteller is her best record to date so even my lesser-liked tracks from it beat a lot of the cuts from her more hit-and-miss albums.

I was a little bit shocked by "Mexico"'s dominance here, tbh! I knew it had its handful of fans, but I don't think I expected it to have the consistency to be a top 10 contender for basically the entire submission process!

This is a very unique song, so I expected it to be a little more polarizing I think.

“Mexico” is an absolute BOP!!! Glad it hung on for the Top 10

"Crazy Dreams" is a really catchy song that I think some fans could have argued belonged in our last rankdown of her top album tracks. However I would be willing to bet that it is finishing better here than it would have had a chance of doing in the last one, so it's a mixed blessing :) It is a little bit generic in the "dreams come true" messaging, but the melody stays with you!

"This Time" is the strongest competitor we have seen yet!! Aside from taylor is terrified 's starting #14 rank, this was in the top 10 for the entire submission process. In fact, it settled in at #8 and stayed there longer than anything else. It did make a brief push for the top 3, but then the small handful of haters came along and put it right back in its earlier place.

I thought this one was more on the generic side when first diving into the Play On album, but tbh this one has grown on me so much through the years! It still ain't no "Quitter", but it is definitely deserving of this top 10 finish in a rankdown of her second-tier album tracks!

It's been a loooooong time since we lost our only other Some Hearts track so far! "We're Young And Beautiful" bowed out back in the bottom 10 at #24, and otherwise this album has just been hanging out watching all the action! It does help that this album had more singles than most, so therefore had less songs in this rankdown than any of the other regular ones. But also, "Whenever You Remember" and "That's Where It Is" both slay, so

"Whenever You Remember" is one that has started to sound a little bit dated to me, and doesn't quite reach the epic heights of some of her other debut album power ballads like "Starts With Goodbye", "Jesus Take The Wheel", and "Inside Your Heaven", but it is still an incredible song that I love listening to Especially that unique melodic progression in the bridge where she gets higher and higher in anticipation of the key change.

castleoblivion26 is the latest in a long string of people to lose their #1s (I hadn't pointed it out, but somebody has literally lost their #1 for each of the last few reveals aside from "Crazy Dreams"!)

"Play On" completely slays, so I don't know what the hell we were doing when we tanked it completely out of the top 10 in its album rankdown. Fortunately its performance here is much more in line with my perception for how this song should be received! The use of the title might get a little repetitive for some, but I think the instrumental arrangement is so engaging, and really finds the sweet spot between Neo-trad country and modern pop-country that Carrie so perfectly occupied every once in awhile on her first three albums. It's a really effective album closer, imo, and leaves the listener on a good note even if it's not their favorite Carrie album overall.

I am most surprised at "The More Boys I Meet" making it, even though it is a fun and catchy song.

Of all the things I was expecting to happen in this rankdown, I was most certainly NOT expecting "Unapologize" to be our least polarizing song!! What a flex though!! This song was an absolute monster, not just being a top 10 contender for the entire rankdown, but also being within a stone's throw of the top 5 for the entire rankdown.

I love this song, and I think the premise is really unique and Carrie sounds great. I have always felt like this one gets more loud hate than any of the other album tracks on Play On though, so I am pleasantly surprised by this performance here in all the right ways, and I feel like this song has truly been validated. Lol

This is the only song remaining that didn't have any #1 ranks though, so it makes sense for it to leave now so the last few remaining #1s can slay just a little bit harder!

Now we just need to get "The More Boys I Meet" outta there and it's a pretty damn amazing top 3.

I guess "Unapologize" being our least polarizing song was only the second biggest surprise of this rankdown, because honestly even though I love the song I am SHOOK at how thoroughly and completely "The More Boys I Meet" slayed here! Not only was this a consistent top 5 contender, but it was such a solid top 5 contender that it hung out at #3 or #4 for nearly the entire submission process .indulgecountry and castleoblivion26 are the only ones who really seem to have any noteworthy animosity towards the song, and 16 out of 20 of us put this in our top 20s. ClevelandRox and someguy both put this at #1, making this only our second song to be a multi-#1 loss!

This song has a dorky premise for sure, but I absolutely cannot get enough of that melody That chorus is pure ear candy, and I also love how Carrie adopts a little bit more twang than normal for the verses because it gives this just the right amount of white trash whimsicality. I can understand people disliking it, but I am definitely thrilled to see it be a relentless competitor here! There's no way in hell it would have done this well if it had made it into her original album tracks rankdown.
