Today is add day. So far it has 6 and is third on the country add board but it’s very early.

I hope it can at least pull in 20+ adds 🤞🏼 I’m a little surprised this isn’t drawing in more adds after 2 massive hits. Both of Gabby’s singles were bigger than Maren & Kelsea’s first two singles, but Maren & Kelsea’s 3rd singles both pulled in bigger impact day adds… (50 for “Peter Pan” & 53 for “I Could Use a Love Song”)

22 adds for add week. Now it is important to note that "I Hope" had a total of 29 stations (6 stations before add week) when it went for adds where as "Footprints On The Moon" has 22 as it had no stations add it before add week.
I will say we have seen low add songs do pretty well on the chart ("To Be Loved By You" by Parker McCollum only got 21 adds and has done fairly well so far and Niko Moons first two singles started off underwhelming add dates but "Good Time" hit #1 and "No Sad Songs" has had a solid start).
I will say I am though a little shocked this didn't get more than 22 though because she is following up 2 straight #1s both of which were huge. Obviously this was gonna have a long journey because it's country radio charts in 2021, but I am shocked the start for this song is just so tepid

It definitely is a disadvantage that it’s following her other two singles that were probably the biggest female songs (along with the bones) that the format has seen over the past 5-10 years.

I’m really curious how this will sell & stream. It hasn’t really shown any signs of be a big seller or stream. I assume Warner will discount it on iTunes like her last 2 singles though.
After looking at the low Spotify streams for her album, I think Gabby is looking to be more or a singles artist than an albums artist…

I Hope had huge buzz. With the Good Ones there was a video made and released at about the same time as I Hope was released to radio so it has a year to really gain traction. This is really the first single that didn’t have all the buzz of the other two.

It was low adds for everyone this week. No it really wasn't. The only other song that went for adds was Toby Keith's latest which got 40 adds and there were four more singles that scored double digit adds (that went for adds weeks/months ago) and the fact that in order to get into the Top 10 for adds this week you needed a minimum of 8 adds, while the last few weeks songs that got even got 4 to even 5 adds could make the Top 10 for most added. This week a lot of songs got a healthy amount of adds it looks like and it certainly wasn't low.

I could see her having big success with radio with this one, but I could see low sales/streams for it too. Not to the extent of "How They Remember You" though ;)

This song I think could just go top 15 and Gabby would still be fine going into album two. I think the lead single from Album two will tell us about Gabby’s staying power! To me this single was a bit of a gamble. As safer choices would have been Jesus and my mama or Thank god. We will see how this song chart run goes.

I agree that this is not Gabby's "test" by any means. This song could fully not even chart and her next lead single would likely do very well. Of course, it will, and it will likely do quite well - but I think it's clear to everyone involved that this is a fun uptempo filler as we await new material.

Early apathy shown from programmers - hard to read anything particularly into it, but people can and will take wild stabs. Like me, lol. I still feel this song is amongst the weakest/blandest on the album, reads like a fridge magnet, and doesn't even sound young/current (rather, like I say, a MTV/CW song from 07). Her momentum from the singles may push this to a high placing, and hell, Country as a genre seems to have quite an absence of high profile new music from its heavy hitters, so I could see it slipping in for that reason alone. Would have much preferred Jesus & My Mama or Thank God; one wonders if radio would too.
If it doesn't make traction this Summer, I can see not much happening and them brushing this under the carpet in time for a new single from a new album before the end of the year.

As long as it keeps pulling in adds over the foreseeable future I think it’ll be fine. Given how slow the charts move the absolute earliest this will peak is next summer; that was about how long it took for the last two to peak. I think this was the best choice for the final; it moved the needle the most streaming wise out of the remaining songs on the album.

If the song fails to gain any major traction in the coming weeks, maybe Warner will do what they did with Ingrid Andress' "The Stranger" and pull it in favor a song that radio wants? (In Ingrid's case being "Lady Like").

The next few weeks could be interesting. Not really anything new going to radio so possibly could gain some more stations.

"Footprints On The Moon" is now discounted to 69 cents on iTunes. What a surprise lol.

OMG this hasn't even charted yet!? I KNOW! Flop! This song is already dead in the water! Might as well say adios to Gabby's whole career so she can go back to being the good christian wife her husband so desperately needs (sarcasm).

My issue with this song is I have no idea what she is saying in the chorus. It reminds me of early day LeAnn Rimes (who is one of the best vocalists I have heard in my lifetime, so definitely not knocking LeAnn here btw) in how she has a really hard time enunciating the words clearly in many of the songs on the album. LeAnn figured it out, maybe Gabby will too.

If Gabby ditched the fake accent, that would solve her problem in my opinion 🤷🏻♂️ Just like Miranda Lambert. I heard Miranda speak with no accent, but when she sings it’s the fake Texas accent, This discussion reminded me of this article. So the fake accent apparently exists up here in Canada as well. Personally, I like Aaron Pritchett a lot, and I don't really hear his fake accent much, even at live. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/calgary/southern-accent-country-music-singing-alberta-1.5998048Going back to Gabby's song, while I agree that it is hard to decipher what she's saying at the chorus, it did not prevent me from enjoying this song. I will memorize the lyrics and I can just sing along :) . I knew this would be the case but this thread is already at the end of its second page even before it enters the chart, while some of the thread has fewer than 20 posts after 50 weeks on the chart!

She's actually singing "they'll beg you to quit." The first set of lyrics that comes up on Google is incorrect (for whatever reason), but if you go down to one of the other lyric links, it gives the correct lyric. I addressed this earlier in the thread, and, besides, "paying" someone to quit makes no sense there lyrically.

I don't know why but I find it funny that instead of responding with "You're welcome" to someone saying thank you, the response here is pretty much the equivalent of someone saying "Oh and another thing! (Just want to note I agree .indulgecountry sentiment in regards to Miranda Lambert)

I’ll state the obvious. This single is nothing more then to get us to a lead single to Gabby’s second album. I sorta think this will scrape top 10 but miss number 1. But Album two I’m curious what direction Gabby goes in. I’d love to hear a good Christian song mixed in. But stay the general course of album one because this sound works for Gabby
