Ed Sheeran is not big in the US? He was literally the 6th biggest artist of the 2010s, "Divide" was the 3rd biggest album, with "x" at #8. He has 12 top 20 songs, 3 of those are monster hits. Ed isn't on Drake's, Taylor's or Ariana's level, and it's definitely one of his least successful countries, but he's still really big. That's what i was talking about. He is big but not "debuting at #1 big" in my opinion. I would certainly say he’s bigger than Ariana worldwide he just hasn’t released as much music as Taylor or Ariana. |

^Is this situation similar to Akon's decline in popularity? Assuming that Ed Sheeran's don't recover ofc. Ed Sheeran will be playing stadiums for the rest of his career so if he never scores another hit record, he'll be more than fine. |

The Weeknd's verse was a late addition to an already complete solo song Doja Cat recorded. she mentioned on YouTube RELEASED that she's working on something for us to hear her original second verse somehow. I don't think she would drop an extended version this week though, when she could hold on to it for a couple more weeks until "You Right" has some good airplay too, and drop it then. perhaps alongside the Planet Her deluxe that is (allegedly) going to be released, even? |

Now this explains why the song sounds so weird. Like Abel is just shoehorned in - because he is. Plastering a feature in is something I expect from Remixes not actual collabs. |

The Weeknd was added after the song was completed, apparently Doja wanted him on the record and he heard You Right and wanted to have a verse on it. The extended version is gonna have Doja's original second verse that she took out to add Abel. |

Hilarious that BTS has ruined runs specifically for female-only hits (WAP, Good 4 U, Kiss Me More).
Saturday is now over in UK and Ed is still not even #1 on UK Apple Music, very small gains if any on US Apple Music. The Spotify numbers will likely not increase much if they increase at all.

I think this confirms the chances are zero: Keep in mind, this is the 7/3 chart without the physicals. The physicals ship out for the 7/10 charting week, and there is no way KMM can make up ground if it is still stuck behind Levitating on the 7/3 chart. |

Singles artist don't get embarrassed these days like Flo Rida used to when his songs opened to record numbers but no one bought the album. Granted no one is really moving many actual albums these days, but expecting Doja to open to massive numbers at this point of her career wasn't realistic. And her hit songs so far have been leggy hits, not frontloaded debuts so the audience will probably respond if exposed to the tracks on radio and playlists over time. |

I still think it's too early and we can't definitively say after just one day, but I am a bit disappointed that Bad Habits hasn't opened with the strongest numbers, though it's really only underperforming on Spotify and AM. YouTube numbers are inching up, It's still number one on iTunes with a solid margin, and had a strong opening day at radio. I'm also surprised and disappointed that so many people think it's just meh, or even dislike it. Like for me, I think it's easily one of his best, as well as one of the best songs I've heard this year.
