The week of one of the most anticipated albums of the year, the along await comeback for... LOONA
Oh and I guess we had a couple of indie releases, not sure they'll attract as much attention

I don’t know why I can’t get into Bad Habits, like it sounds alright but that’s about it for me.

I’m not looking forward to the inevitable Butter vs. Bad Habits discourse.

Planet Her and Bad Habits are both mediocre. Haven't listened to Tyler yet

Bad Habits straight to #1!

It should only take a few days before we get a chance how the #1 race is shaking out. Will it be a 4+ way fight for #1 or are some of the contenders going to fade away throughout the week?

Bad Habits is amazing! Such a stirring, moody, vibin energy. The video is a tad cheesy, but it'll be great to hear on the radio!

well, i'd prefer bad habits on top, rather than the song that's #142 on apple right now.
does sound a bit bieber-ish, but better.

Bad Habits sounds catchy but it doesn’t even sound like Ed Sheeran. They processed/autotuned his voice beyond recognition.

BH is like what Higher Power is to Coldplay. Interesting to see where it goes.

bad habits sounds like ass. the backing production feels very edm but its supposed to be an 80s throwback and his voice sounds nothing like himself. at least shape of you's beat was ear catching enough to immediately recognize it the second you heard it. this feels like its going to get flushed in with everything else on the radio

Everything about Bad Habits is basic and mediocre; from the lyrics to the production, even it's music video is one big "meh." Ed was raving about his new single "being different" and how it was him "trying something new" but Bad Habits just sounds like a forgotten Maroon 5 record off any of their last 3 albums. It's uninspired and average and that's exactly why it'll work as a single.
Doja Cat's single with the Weeknd is just okay. The Weeknd really wasn't needed on it seeing as he comes in with a super-autotuned verse that messes up the vibe of the song and barely sings for 30 seconds before disappearing. If you don't put your ear down, you won't even notice that he was ever on the song because Doja Cat closes out the song by singing the hook again right after his verse.
Those are the two big singles of the week and they're both... just there to me. I hope they do something for their respective artists on the charts, though.
I love Tyler, the Creator's album. It has some of the best rapping he's ever done in his career and some really solid moments. I love how disjointed the album feels at times because by the time you get to the end of it, you see how that was on purpose and how it serves the complete album.
Doja Cat's album, on the other hand, is just there... Definitely a pop album through and through. It feels like her label made a point to have her experiment with every popular style of pop music in the last 6 years. Sometimes, it works. Most times, it doesn't. It has some cool moments but overall, nothing special and nothing she hasn't done just as well on Hot Pink (which has a better collection of songs and is still her best album imo). I also listened to Justine Skye's new album but that wasn't anything special either.

So far, so good, Tyler, the Creator seems to be leading the race for the #1 debut. His album is #1 on US Apple Music and he currently has 3 songs in the top 10, 11 songs in the top 50 and 15/16 songs in the top 100 of US Apple Music.
Doja Cat, on the other hand, has 1 song in the top 10, 3 songs in the top 50 and 12/14 songs in the top 100 of US Apple Music.

As if Loona is relevant for a Hot 100 discussion eeh (not miscrediting the artistry but there were at least 3 releases more worthy of a first post mention)
Bad Habits is ok, I think it will be a grower but its melody is really really basic and nothing special, I'll let it sink in I'm ready for it to be overplayed

Butter vs. good 4 u vs. Kiss Me More vs. Bad Habits If the BTS Army is involved, it's not any more of a competition than it's been since Butter came out.

Every Doja Cat song and every Tyler, The Creator song is charting on Apple Music while Ed Sheeran has yet to appear even with the top banner. I am sensing a major underperformance

But if Butter blocking Ed ends up pushing Billboard to make a change, it will be worth it in the end. Remember, Ed is a Billboard favorite. Don't forget how Billboard extended I Don't Care's run by bringing it back from recurrency after the 2019 Christmas season and then removing UGC from the Hot 100.

How much money do I have to pay to get Ed Sheeran's producer to re-release the song with a bass line added to this flat ass production?
