Motley Crew (Post Malone): banger. gets repetitive though, and I doubt it will have half the support "Circles" had on radio, so I don't expect this to smash at that extent.
Permission to Dance (BTS): this is giving me Meghan Trainor for the Peanuts movie vibes. even less interesting than "Butter". on the bright side, I got a gofundme ad to donate to AAPI causes at the start of the music video. hopefully fans choose to do something worthwhile with their money instead of buying 57 copies of "Butter" this week.
NDA (Billie Eilish): best & most interesting song she's released from Happier Than Ever so far. energizes me for the album later this month, though I'll manage my expectations and keep them low.
Bouncin (Tinashe): I'm glad "Pasadena" was released first even though I do like this as well, but probably won't play it as much as the former.
Stay (Kid Laroi & JB): can definitely hear the Charlie Puth influence on here. this is alright, if it were any longer it would turn annoying.
Say So (Masked Wolf): this sounds so generic and is 2 minutes... TikTok doesn't need another "Say So" imo so I hope this gets no love.
Whole Lotta Money (BIA & Nicki Minaj): this is fun. mostly because BIA deserves the attention. the song/Nicki's verse are fine.

Permission to Dance is probably their best English single to date but I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it doesn’t turn into the mess that the Butter situation became. What’s the point in discussing the charts when 95% of it is just a warzone that lasts well over a month yknow :/
In other news NDA is fantastic and I did not expect to hear Post Malone trying to do a Carti voice 😟

You do know this isn't a remix of Doja's song, right? I know, but I’m desperate for a KMM remix. I’d take a Masked Wolf remix if it gets a #1, over a #3 peak behind 2 awful songs. 1. 2021 has not been friendly to Post Malone at all, Motley Crew is terrible, Life's a Mess II was also terrible and Only Wanna Be with You was decent but wasn't gonna go anywhere with the promotion it got.

Post post-Circles beginning to remind me of Katy Perry post-Dark Horse. Katy had flops like Birthday and This is How We Do in 2014, and her career never really recovered. It is possible that 7 years from now, we may be talking about Post’s career in the same way we are talking about Katy right now. You just never know in music. |

Permission To Dance: Not a huge fan, definitely the weakest English BTS song.
Motley Crew: Kind of mid, not terrible but no where near as good as his other singles.
NDA: Don't see what y'all see in this one? It's closer to the style of WWAFAWDWG?, but just doesn't pack the same punch to me. Definitely prefer Lost Cause and Your Power to this one.
Stay: Not bad. Nice pop song, probably won't return to it a ton on my own but if it's on a playlist I wouldn't skip it.

Masked Wolf's follow up to AITO has only 2 million streams. I doubt he, a literal no name, would push KMM to #1. He couldn't even get a #1 with his own song. Again, not everything needs to hit #1. Kiss Me More is successful, whether it hits #1 or not. Please give it up. |

On the subject though, no, Post Malone underperforming with a feature on a sequel to a six month old Juice WRLD song by a guy who's virtually unknown and a Hootie and the Blowfish cover does not mean he's like 2014 Katy Perry.
