Notable gains: #52 - One Too Many (+14) Is the Blinding Lights person OK? Thoughts and Prayers. lol, Iβm okay. You donβt need to feel sorry for me. Blinding Lights is going back to the Top 15, and possibly even the Top 10, next week to break the SoundScan era record for real points.

lazer- when the chart formula is as it is, it is a big number. Did it hit No. 1 on U.S. iTunes? (plus, there were two versions) Streams that count the most come from paid accounts- are streamers paying for a streaming service just to listen to one act? Likely not. As opposed to sales, where there's no question. Also- I'm sure a number of streams come from passive listening- perhaps from playlists. Similar to radio airplay, where someone can be listening to a station and not actively choose the song that's played. They may not turn it off when it comes on automatically, though thy also may not actively search for it or play it themselves.
The run of "One Too Many" is crazy- though it's just one of a bunch of titles in recent times reaching new peaks late in their chart life.

Bittersweet that it took this long for Daniel Caesar to get a Top 40 hit and only because of Justin Bieber. Still at least he and Giveon have a number one single. Still wished Chicago Freestyle was an actual hit so it could all come full circle for Giveon in the end. Itβs still exciting having 2 songs on the year end regardless, and he has the entire decade to look forward too. Letβs just hope he gets longevity as that seems to be the case with R&B acts.

Well, we can definitely cheer on his success now. He certainly has hits of his own as well as features to his credit. It's always nice when an artist can go from an almost hit to having two YE hits.

I'll be regretting this? I love Circles but I also like it when records are broken, if One Too Many passes Circles I won't be angry. I mean, the fact that it has spent 31 weeks in the bottom half of the chart and might reach the Top 50 in it's 32nd week, that's pretty crazy. Also, its not like the song has a chance in hell of passing Blinding Lights, so why do you care?

As a P!nk fan, it makes me so happy seeing her getting a big hit this late in her career (and also another song charting at the same time). I may not be a fan of OTM as a song, but its existence doesn't bother me (like someone else we know) and I'm very happy for its unique chart run, P!nk deserves it

So what is the cure for being under 'One Too Many' 'Blinding Lights'? Is there a vaccine for that?
LOL

Did any songs or formats benefit disproportionately from the radio tracking week shift during this chart week? I'm curious if that shift had any impact.

Songs that benefitted: LTDO and Peaches because it did not take into effect 3 extra days of declines. Songs that were hurt: Bad Habits and Stay because it did not take into effect 3 extra days of gains.

The math isnβt mathing. The likes, omg. Billboardβll HAVE to do something about this, like immediately. Yes! Indeed they should. Iβm glad we can agree on that. β€οΈ

I don't think we've discussed how terrible a #13 debut is for Post's single. The Pokemon song got zero promo, and this is starting to feel like... not lead single hype; but still Post get your shit together and smash again (and do a better song, I love you but this single is not it).

Yes, but if it smashes I wouldn't be shocked if it's tacked on to the album ("Sunflower", "Hotline Bling", etc...)

Of course, if it doesn't smash it will be consigned to the memory hole of forgotten loosies.

Of course, if it doesn't smash it will be consigned to the memory hole of forgotten loosies. "Summer Sixteen" by Drake comes to mind. Big top 10 debut, never to be heard again or included on any project. The trend is only getting more and more frequent every year. ("Crying in the Club" and "OMG" by Camila, "Motivation" was just confirmed to not be on Normani's album, Halsey's "Nightmare").

Remember when the Weeknd was over before After Hours? Post is fine for now. Wait until he has an underperforming album/era before declaring him in danger.

I sure donβt remember anyone saying Abel was done before After Hours. After all, Starboy went to #1 and IFIC was a Top 5 hit with considerable longevity before AH.

There we're so many people on here saying he was over because "Lost In The Fire" and "Power Is Power" weren't hits, despite them being random one-off features.

And even if they did they were wrong, as there was also his EP My Dear Melancholy, which debuted at No. 1 and did very well for an indie-leaning side project, with Call Out My Name even going top 5, as well as Pray for Me, the solid top 10 soundtrack hit from Black Panther.

#13 is an amazing debut for Playboi Carti, especially considering the fact that Motley Crew is his worst single to date.
