I can't wait for Blinding Lights to fall out of the Hot 100 so I don't have to see phieaglesfan712 's posts any longer. Nah, I will still be here, but won't post as much. I lost interest in the charts when Radioactive fell off the charts, but regained it when Uptown Funk started its record run.

Steep drop for BTS in Spotify. For Permission To Dance, but not for Butter. In fact, Butter moved up to #16 on Spotify, while re-entering the AM chart at #154 after being unranked for an entire week. It looks like Butter may retain its #1 ranking on the 7/24 chart.

Yeah I don't know why people can't seem to grasp that Billboard is an industry publication, and above all else the charts are for the industry to gauge popularity, see how their stuff is doing, etc. We as the public just happened to catch onto it and get interested, but it isn't for us. So many complaints and debates could be avoided if people kept that in mind. I agree that Billboard is an industry publications and it is supposed to gauge the popularity of songs based on sales, streaming, and airplay. However, the inconsistency of the 50/20 rule makes the bottom 50 (of which I already hardly know anymore) even more inaccurate. Nobody wants to see One Too Many chart for a 62nd week in the 61-80 range because it might be 'gaining', when you have fresher songs like Up already in recurrency. Either tighten the 50/20 rule and apply it consistently, or get rid of the bottom 25 or 50 songs altogether. Yeah well Songs like "Up" already had a full chart run in the Top 50 of the Hot 100, Therefore they did what they had to do and no longer need to Chart in the Hot 100, That's literally the whole purpose of the 50/20 Rule. Why do you think that Songs like "One Too Many" that are notably gaining in Radio and Streams need to get sent Recurrent just because they are over 20 Weeks old and not placing in the Top 50. Of course the chart wouldn't be completely accurate anyways because of the Recurrent Rules but you are being very ignorant.

Good 4 U is obviously massive (and a solid song), but I think MGK and Travis Barker are, and will be regarded as the main trendsetters for the Pop-Punk revival we're seeing now. A lot of emo trap was starting to delve into that realm, but MGK was the first real mainstreamer to do the full genre pivot. Plus considering how well Tickets to My Downfall performed, I think that's become a pretty well-established narrative at this point. I mean, I would argue that artists like Lil Peep and Juice WRLD pushed this genre back into the mainstream years ago (MGK's album isn't that different from "Lucid Dreams"), but yes, I guess "my ex's best friend" was the first real pop punk hit coming back that unleashed the beast. There's a huge diff b/w emo rap & pop-punk mate π¬ BTW Mebf was pop rock/trap rock not pop punk

Fall quarter sustaining hits and essentially anything other than one week wonders will eventually push the song back below 25.

It doesn't matter if Permission To Dance falls in streams they'll probably have enough sales to go #1 for a week and then continue to buy π§ till September.

Good luck waiting till 2022 Surely we will get at least one big album bomb before 2022 to push BL out. (emphasis on big, I know BL has already dodged two or three moderate album bombs) Christmas songs will push it out (again) in December if it's still around then, but good grief if it takes waiting until the holidays.

We have Pop Smoke next week, Billie three weeks from now, plus albums from Juice Wrld and Drake coming soon. I'd be shocked if it Blinding Lights isn't out after those are released.

Plus, BL would tie the Sail record of charting in 4 consecutive years.

Lmao whats even the point of paying attention to PTD's Spotify and (soon to be non existent) Apple Music placement? It don't matter when 12k people can just buy however many copies BB allows and they debut at 1 because (insert paragraph about the blantant fuckery).
Lmao I'm sure the Army would be HEATED if Olivia stans got international money to top the hot 100 with sales AND streams πͺ

Plus, BL would tie the Sail record of charting in 4 consecutive years. Your first sentence doesn't make sense. IF BL managed to return after a second holiday season, that wouldn't be "making up" for anything, that would literally just be Billboard using the same rules that let BL re-enter the first time ( "As Yuletide hits have dashed up the Hot 100's upper ranks in recent holiday seasons, followed by their swoons after Christmas, non-seasonal songs are eligible to re-enter once holiday titles decline, if meeting all chart eligibility rules"). Being able to return to the chart at all is what 'made up' for that, and Billboard certainly doesn't owe BL a 'lost' week when it's still charting over six months later and closing in on the most weeks on the chart record. Odds are greater that BL would not recover from a holiday push-out a second time as the song will not have the hype of Grammys controversy or a pending halftime show to boost it. And it is worth noting that BL was only pushed out the very last week of the holiday season. If it's pushed out a second time in early or mid-December BB might not apply the post-holiday exception to it because it will have fallen off, and stayed off, the chart for multiple weeks and before the Christmas songs took full control of the chart. I also would not put it past Billboard to use that as a convenient time to introduce a hard 104-week rule to justify not bringing it back. BL tying Sail's chart years record has absolutely nothing to do with anything at all so I don't even know why you threw that in there other than to have another jerk-off about this one song. Stop being so f**king weird bro.

I am amused at you thinking it was undeservingly removed (when it checked all the necessary boxes the week it was) but youβre calling for removal of songs that donβt check those same boxes just because theyβre charting for too long (though not even half as long as blinding lights). The logical fairy and common sense wizard must have been off sick when you were made.

Blinding Lights already has its legacy as one of all-time greatest songs in Billboard Hot 100 history secured. We won't mass buy the song for a few extra weeks to artificially extend its longevity.

yes you're consistently full of s**t, we gathered that You never post in that January-December year ends thread that mikerivera, inverse, me, and many other true knowledgeable members post in. I guess youβre afraid that your inconsistencies will get exposed if you ever posted in there. Same with drem, kingvavis, and several others. Bich u couldnt even have accountability for your inconsistencies when you lied about falsely predicting AITO would go to number one. Dont lecture others about being consistent ever again.

Iβm cut from the same cloth as mikerivera and inverse. Like my views or not (and I really do not care), I place a high value on consistency. yes you're consistently full of s**t, we gathered that The juice I was drinking went up to my nose after reading this.
