The most hilarious thing is this showcases that mass-buying isn't sustainable forever, after a couple weeks you have to let radio and streaming take the song and hold it up. But neither Butter nor PTD have those, hits like good 4 u and Kiss Me More have their first week of sales and let radio/streaming carry them, but when you don't have those your track will fail like we saw last week with Butter.
What ARMY should do is focus on streaming and keeping the boys PR up, because from the outside this stuff looks embarrassing.
Also hi meg! It's great that you like ratting us out to the crazies on Twitter. Maybe next time don't get mad about a chart discussion forum discussing the charts.

i don't believe butter or PTD will stay top 10 this week. my twitter hasn't been covered in funding and buying requests nearly as much as it usually is. It has gone pretty quiet tbh.
really hoping for Stay to maybe edge into number 1 if it's possible or maybe g4u will retake it now.

Since the active army isn't very big, it's easier to keep a song at #1 when there are a lot of remixes because it takes a lot more unique buyers to keep a song at #1 than the army has on a regular basis without the remixes.

I wonder if this will the last week of mass-buying for a while, it looks like the fanbase is coming up dry this time around. Maybe they'll muster enough to keep BTS at #1 for one last week, but seeing as they are struggling to find the funds this week, it seems next week will be the official end, at least until next month when they get their allowance money.

~unique~ paint-splattered albums is a new one! she did that for her Live at Third Man record too. I kinda get paint-splattered vinyl record jackets (it makes an already limited record even more of a collector’s item), but doing the same thing to CD booklets… idk for some reason I don’t get that. |

The BTS bulk-buying-from-a-money-pool shenanigans was never going to be sustainable. It's a phase. People have different reasons for wanting to personally contribute to the cause, and regardless of the reason, people change. Their priorities shift. It's just the way it goes. If the point was to, well, prove a point, the point has been proven, so now what? When does it end? Sooner than later, for most. Twitter chatter will probably still be there, but wiling participants will disappear one by one until the impact isn't substantial enough to matter.
I think about the britney/boy band sales craze from the turn of the millennium - such massive album sales and then.... those young consumers grew up and sales went way down, just like that. No fans, in the moment, think that will ever happen to THEIR fave, but it always does. BTS will be no exception in the relatively near future.
