I think the more reasonable BTS fan was the poster here with math on their username, forgot the exact name. But of course I haven't visited the threads when the coast is not clear/too much fighting lol so not aware if that user also posted something else.

Can someone link me to some of these messy meg/BTS tweets? I always knew that user was unhinged. How they'd get defensive anytime someone had something even remotely critical to say about BTS gave it away. I don't know how anyone ever thought they were different from all the psychotic BTS stans online.

I don't remember Nutmeg ever getting praise? She was never not trash, not matter how much she tried to come for Popcentaur they were always cut from the same cloth. Nutmeg

So for those who missed it, meg will be permabanned so that's one less stain on Pulse Just liked to also say Hi meg! since you're no doubt still lurking and posting screenshots to get ARMYs spite-buying, just hope you share this post which includes the time you got absolutely ratioed by a twink

Good riddance. They were completely unhinged. Truly a terrifying, cult-like devotion to a parasocial relationship.

lmao remember the time when pulse was praising meg for not being a wackjob Army stanβ¦ that aged super well. In contrast to the even more insane BTS stan we used to have, Meg seemed fine. But then they leftβ¦ I think we (or maybe just me) weβre grasping at straws. π

The energy she spent on Popcentaur was literally the same energy she spent on Nicky. There was never a point where she looked like 'the sane one', because her two modes were literally 'destroy the ANTI' and 'destroy the NON-BELIEVERS'. She was just stuck on the second mode until Nicky came along, giving her an excuse to flip back.

More and more I'm coming to the conclusion that these chart discussions are so messy because our relationship with music and musicians and fans of musicians and anti-fans of musicians is so messy. How could talking about the charts be anything but messy when one considers the baggage attached to it? There really needs to be more actual research into βstansβ in terms of what leads to it, the impact it has on people, etc. Iβve been saying it all along; itβs all a sign of unhealthy issues. Itβs of course fine to enjoy someoneβs music and even them as a person, but itβs not healthy for someoneβs well-being to depend on how that artist does on the charts, how theyβre perceived by other people, etc. People also have a right to spend their money how they want, but itβs probably not a sign of a good emotional state to spend a lot of your money trying to rig charts for someone.

We're just the equivalent of the one guy at the football game who painted himself the school colors and wore no shirt in 17 degree weather. Everyone else in the stadium is a fan, but that guy is...another level.

And it would be one thing if these were children or pre-terns. Its excusable: they have an adolescent world view and they form personalities and make friends by what they like first before what they want out of people or what type of sociability they like. But as meg and the charts have shown, these are adults with disposable incomes. Apologies for getting political but I think the Butter and the Am I the Only One situation shows is how much people think simple consumerism is showing power. "We're battling Asian hate and Western culture/combatting the 'Leftists SJW agenda' by buying a song". It's ironically just feeding into the capitalist machine and industry that hinders people. It's no less an empty gesture than when companies or artists use pride month or other agendas to sell products. As I've said before, these campaigns are less about the artist themselves and more about the stans to feel good about themselves. It's one of the reasons I was so harsh and critical of the claims this was fighting "xenophobia of Asian artists". If you really wanted to help us, your main goal shouldn't be buying a song.

Everyone else in the stadium is a fan, but that guy is...another level. I think stan culture has been normalized in sports to a large degree already. Destruction after losing (or winning) a big game. The types of exchanges that happen between fans of sports teams - often all in good fun but sometimes not. Thereβs definitely a built-in competitive nature involved with both sports and music but for whatever reason itβs become hyperactive in recent years, with the BTS stans a new extreme from what Iβve seen.

Yes, it is definitely about people starting to live through the artist, or more so they internalize the success/failure and praise/criticism of the artist. So, when an artist gets to #1, they take it on themselves. When an artist is criticized, they take it as criticism of them. That one BTS fan tweet saying BTS is helping them is really telling; at this point itβs literally stans seeing themselves as being #1. Itβs just not healthy.

That one BTS fan tweet saying BTS is helping them is really telling; at this point itβs literally stans seeing themselves as being #1. Itβs just not healthy. I think music is a very personal thing and is something most people donβt acknowledge as such, particularly those who are introverts or who didnβt have it easy in high school. Similar to reading and writing, the music one listens to and loves becomes an extension of who they are in some ways. When someone names their favourite singer and the response is something negative, it can be insulting because youβve opened yourself up just enough to have a negative comment given in return and it stings even just a little bit. Thereβs also a hint of a reward when your fav succeeds. When Brandi Carlile won big at the Grammys a few years ago (in particular with her night-stealing performance), I definitely felt proud as a result of that even though I did nothing but love her music for a decade. However, thereβs a difference between that and what BTS fans do but tbh it probably starts from an innocent place until youβre in a groupthink situation, paired with the competition nature of fanbase, while also facing criticism from nearly everyone. Iβm sure it doesnβt need to be said again but I donβt think any of us are critical of BTS more than any other boyband - itβs possible that weβre probably less critical of them than others because theyβre breaking down barriers and achieving a lot of firsts. Before the blatant manipulation, I thought their achievements were admirable. Our criticism is 100% on the actions of their stans and tbh, Iβve wondered if I myself wouldnβt be so harsh toward them if they just owned the fact they were manipulating the charts and were otherwise not any better than other toxic stanbases. The fact they try to play innocent while gaslighting every step of the way is what made me detest them as much as I do.

Stoned In The Nail Salon is a gorgeous serene song but definitely album track material not single material.
