Why would they stop now? It's still relatively easy to get that #1 spot for them. Theyβre waiting for the groupβs next comeback (thatβs what βCBβ stands for), as they broke the record they wanted to. It takes time to accrue funds for that ever-important first week, after all, and theyβve been struggling to meet funding goals recently. The term βcomebackβ basically refers to k-pop artists releasing new material. Itβs not used the same way as it is in American pop music culture. βPermission to Danceβ wasnβt a comeback, as itβs part of the βButterβ era and on the CD single.

Imagine if Blinding Lights breaks Radioactive's record, only for it to be broken by One Too Many. Almost certainly won't happen but Phigealas or whatever would lose his fkn mindddd That user will probably deactivate their account the week Blinding Lights leaves the Hot 100. No, I will never deactivate my account. I will be here after BL leaves the Hot 100, and I am already looking forward to The Dawn era. I am already satisfied with BL's run on the chart, but breaking Radioactive's longevity record would be the icing on the cake.

^ I was here to post the Lollapalooza news about DB!tch. While I certainly applaud them for doing this, it should've happened earlier - not on the day of. At least, it's progress.
The label should pull Levitating (Remix) from streaming and iTunes - the fact it's still selling/streaming shows there's a disgusting fanbase that doesn't care. The song is past its peak - keeping that version alive is simply a money grab.
Like I said in Levitating thread, Lady GaGa/Celine Dion quickly removed their RK hits and reissued their respective albums. Dua should insist on the same. It's simply the right thing to do.

Yes, it sucks that Chris Brown, DaBaby and Tory Lanez are still around in some form, but I think the important thing to remember here is that they're also struggling to get hits completely on their own these days. DaBaby has only had 2 true solo hits (Suge and Bop), everything else has either had a feature on it or was a track featuring DaBaby himself. Tory hasn't had a real hit on his own since Luv in 2016 and was only able to get away with another hit on Whats Poppin last year because he had a generally agreeable verse on a remix that came out weeks before the Megan Thee Stallion incident. Even with Chris Brown, for as continuously successful as he's been, his last true solo hit was Don't Wake Me Up nearly a decade ago. Every other hit since has been with at least one other artist (yes, I'd even count Back to Sleep, which only got as high as it did thanks to the Usher/Zayn remix and likely would have been lost to obscurity if that never happened).
Maybe it's just me, but it's very telling that these three artists need to collaborate with others just to get attention for their music these days.

We'll just have to wait and see. If Billie's album comes in below the 80k that Kid Laroi had last week, then it's panic time. Ever since Sour was released, the #1 on the Billboard 200 has gotten lower and lower each week. The #1 didn't even reach 100k the past 2 weeks, and that's very concerning. People seem to stream older music more these days, which is kinda odd with more heavy hitters releasing music than last year. Hmm, personally I have been streaming older music as well. I used to only be about new music so it made me start thinking after reading this. Hmm. I did just turn 44 this month so maybe Iβm just getting to that age?? I love the excitement of new music so I hope itβs not that..

Maybe it's just me, but it's very telling that these three artists need to collaborate with others just to get attention for their music these days. I donβt think it matters that Chris Brown doesnβt have solo hits anymore. The fact is, radio still supports him 12 years after the incident with Rihanna. Heβs also a big name that can still sell out concerts. He really was not impacted by any of it besides losing his pop base initially. However, he gradually transitioned more into Urban/hip hop which seemed fitting for him and not forced at all. So to sum it all up, the Rihanna incident didnβt effect his career at all. He has more than enough solo hits from his early days and still getting hits today. I would say heβs had an impressive run. Besides, even Rihanna forgave him and collaborated with him after the fact so he was never really cancelled by the general public. All this stuff also predates the βcancel cultureβ of today. I would say DaBaby is going to be impacted hugely moving forward. He destroyed the pop base he was building and no one is going to dare to feature him, except T.I. I guess. But calling for Dua Lipa to pull βLevitatingβ is kind of a reach. The song is way passed its peak and he did attempt to apologize for what he said, in his own bizarre ways. Thereβs no reason to pull the song.
