Levitating is dropping faster than I thought it's been in the Top 10 for 31 weeks and counting, and it's predicted to move down to No. 5 (only 1 single point below No. 4βwhich is fully within the margin of error)... how is it falling faster than you thought? did you expect it to climb this week or?

Of all the female alt acts to chart besides Lorde and Billie, it had to be Nessa Barrett...

Take My Breath ended up being #1 in the US YouTube weekly music video chart, just edging Before I Go, with only 3.7 million views. I would think that's among the lowest weekly views for a #1 in that chart, if not the lowest.

Are we going to be getting a daily AM update for every new release? Yes. Can you not do the updates on Take My Breath anymore? I donβt need you to remind me twice every day on how TMB is flopping, lol.

Maybe we can post daily TMB updates in here too - in addition to the TMB threads. Just to equal it out.

Can you not do the updates on Take My Breath anymore? I donβt need you to remind me twice every day on how TMB is flopping, lol. I wouldn't say it's flopping. Underperforming, sure. Flopping, no. And it's only dropping so hard on Apple Music. It's seems to have stabilized at 900K+ streams on US Spotify and it's gaining steadily on radio so it should have a spot in the Hot 100 top 10 for weeks to come. I wouldn't call that flopping. I just think no one comments on US Apple Music positions for new songs and someone should. If it was stable in the top 5 or top 10, I wouldn't have much to comment about. I just think it's notable if a release from a high-profile artist loses significantly so early after it's dropped. I commented as much on Motley Crew's performance on Apple Music because it dropped fast after it's release as well. As for Lizzo, after dropping to #11 earlier in the day, Rumors is back in the top 10 at #7 on US Apple Music.

I would rather we save the word flop for something that underperforms on spectacular levels--like the latest Bebe Rexha album, sadly--rather than something that merely ends up being a top five instead of a number one or a top twenty instead of a top ten.

Rumors already being back in the AM top 10 and only falling one position on Spotify is definitely a good sign

Did somebody really say that Levitating is falling fast? Lmaoooo it entered the Top 10 in January

^As an objective measure of whether that was true or not, if Levitating doesn't beat the 52 week Hot 100 recurrent rule (except in the unlucky case that a major album bomb causes it to go recurrent), I would consider that it did end up dropping quickly in the aftermath of the DaBaby fiasco. I'll revisit this in what could be its 53th week on the Hot 100.

I don't think the DaBaby thing hurt the song at all, radio just replaced the remix with the OG version and they continue to spin it 30 times an hour. And the remix has still done really well on Spotify despite the controversy, so I think it'll be fine.

I completely forgot this was a thing So did everyone Abelβs 2020 features aged poorly just like his 2019 ones. 2021 has been promising featured wise with You Right and Hurricane coming when Kanye decides to ever drop Donda, so hopefully he wonβt mess it up for now (thereβs also Better Believe and thankfully Belly is a better side of XO compared to Nav but this is kinda also forgettable as well. The song is decent though).

Can we all agree on that and just watch the chart performance first before we call this a flop. Also it never even debuted yet on the chartsβ¦

Compare the ones he's done on Smile, Over Now, You Right, Hawai, with the ones on Or Nah, Pray 4 Love, Crew Love (this was Trilogy era Abel), Might Not, Nocturnal, and FML. The former ones sound like he didn't put as much effort into as the latter ones. The only exception has been his collabs with Ariana, they just seem to have natural chemistry with each other, and the ones he's done with Future because both of them are dark, nihilistic hedonists Also lol at people still expecting DONDA will drop this year
