While weβre on the topic of major album flops, letβs not forget about Edβs last album. You mean the side project that nearly has 5b streams on Spotify and two songs with over 1b streams that was never going to be consumed as big as an ed Sheeran solo album since his demographic also consists of soccer moms, who are not hip hop fans

While weβre on the topic of major album flops, letβs not forget about Edβs last album. The difference is that that was marketed as a side project under Ed Sheeran's name, not a legitimate Ed Sheeran solo album. So Ed was able to keep his dignity intact for that reason.

I'm kinda glad he went with "equal" instead of "minus". The latter just feels like bad promo because of what the symbol represents. I've been saying for years "minus" or "subtract" should be an acoustic or stripped back album for Ed, it's the only way it would make sense, in my opinion, without a negative connotation associated with it.

This is true, who knows if and when that will eventually come: "Minus: The MTV Unplugged Album"

I am confused - which one is the "major album flop"?
weeks on title, artist peak 232 Γ· (Divide), Ed Sheeran peak 1 313 x, Ed Sheeran 1 73 No.6 Collaborations Project, Ed Sheeran 1 243 +, Ed Sheeran 5

reputation was the #1 album of 2018, it was by no means a massive flop and the final leg of taylor's career. critics disliking an album and it having mixed reception from the GP does not meet the qualifications a mi Reputation technically was her Artpop. As a matter of fact i think Lover was her Joanne as well. Both Taylor and Gaga have never truly recovered from their first mentioned eras, despite them actually doing really well but itβs just that people market them as a flop because of the whole mixed reception and underwhelming experience of it all. I still credit their longevity to still pull out #1 hits to this day even when they blew up heavily in the mainstream around the same time back in 2008 and is something that should never be taken for granted. If there is one thing Taylor could still do, is pull out massive sales with each album she puts out. She is to the sales world what Drake is to the streaming world so iβm not too worried if she starts becoming an albums artist.

As long as she has singles that chart on the Hot 100 we will chat about her in threads like these, though.

While weβre on the topic of major album flops, letβs not forget about Edβs last album. Since we will now be bombarded with this mistruth and flat-out lie for the next few months, go ahead and tell us your distorted view of it. How was it a flop? Lay it all out for us in plain English....

That said, No. 6 Collaborations failed to knock off Sicko Mode from 50 to recurrent (and itβs not like it had only 11 songs like Sour), and that alone makes it one of the biggest flops in the streaming era.

I am sure that someone could come up with a list of several hundred, if not a thousand albums, that were far bigger flops than No. 6 Collaborations.

Congrats for doubling down on your idiocy Polo G - Hall of Fame: debuted at #1 with 143,000 units so sold. 447,000 total units sold so far Lil Baby and Lil Durk - Voice of the Heroes: debuted with 150K Units sold, 547,000 total units sold so far Billie Eilish - Happier Than Ever: debuted with 238000 units sold, has spent 2 weeks atop the album charts, 323,000 total units sold so far, garnered critical acclaim Doja Cat - Planet Her: debuted at #2 with 109,000 units sold. 464,000 total units so far Bo Burnham - Inside (The Songs): despite only peaking at #7, for a comedy album it has moved 151,000 (rough estimate) while also garnering critical acclaim Tyler, the Creator - CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST: debuted at #1 with 169,000 - one of the biggest debuts this year, total units sold with 241,000 (rough estimate), one of the most critically acclaimed albums of the year Migos - Culture III: debuted at #2 with 130,500 sold, total units sold: 251,500 (very rough estimate) Obviously if you compare anything to SOUR these all look like flops but at that point, that's not the artists' fault that's your own greedy perspective. Oh and as for No. 6 Collaborations: Debuted with 173,000 units sold, and is certified Platinum in Brazil, France, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, and the U.S., is 2x Platinum in Canada, Denmark, and the UK, and is 3x Platinum in New Zealand I hope all of this shows why you're being laughed at

Maybe it wasnβt a huge seller/streamer as an album but it had an impact with its singles. I donβt get the narrative heβs trying to push repeatedly about this.

I looked up a couple things here during the debut week of the "biggest flop of the streaming era" 7-27-2019 Sicko Mode was still #31 in streaming actually moving up from #33, that alone would have kept it charting another week But instead of wasting time and going further into how the recurrent charts for singes work(which you won't respond to anyway) - I will stick with streaming On a 15 track album - 5 made the streaming top 50 = not bad I would say for the "biggest flop of the streaming era" But for your benefit - as I was trying to figure out what the connection was between Sicko Mode and Ed Sheeran and why that would be a measurement of a "flop" since we apparently measure βflopsβ off just the debut week (which was number one btw) I found one a Travis Scott and Ed Sheehan connection. LOL The song that places #21 on streaming for that week Antisocial, Ed Sheeran & Travis Scott

6 Collaborations: Debuted with 173,000 units sold, and is certified Platinum in Brazil, France, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, and the U.S., is 2x Platinum in Canada, Denmark, and the UK, and is 3x Platinum in New Zealand I hope all of this shows why you're being laughed at I'm amazed you remember all of these. With the exception of Planet Her and Happier Than Ever, I've pretty much forgotten the rest of them by the 2nd or 3rd week. I didnt remember any of these stats. I did the research and looked at the stats of albums released after SOUR and that spent more than 2 weeks in the top 10. It took less than 10 minutes, and it's something you couldve done before labeling everything a flop just because you havent listened to them.
