There was crap last year, don't get me wrong, but at least last year we had 7 Summers, More Hearts Than Mine, One Beer, Does to Me, Even Though I'm Leaving. Country music deserves way better than to have these as its biggest hits.

Even if you add Morgan Wallen, he doesn't save this really awful year for country, Sand in My Boots brings it up a bit but there's still Wasted on You.

Nothing personal, but it's been like 10 months since I've had any use for the song.

It’s going to happen when Kendrick drops and definitely if we have the possibility of Drake/Kanye dropping at the same time. That would flush the entire charts and allow more fresh songs to come in after the album bombs fade way.

I feel like BL should get either 90 or 100 weeks and i’ll be fine. 104 weeks is the equivalent to 2 years so that’s also a good sendoff as well.

So Billboard doesn't like bringing songs back from superrecurrency? Cuz I can imagine an album bomb pushing BL below 25, and it rising back to at least 25 once the album bomb finishes

Maybe 5-10 weeks ago when it was hovering at #15, but not now. BL was at #21 this past week, and it has lost its rankings on AM. Quite frankly, I'm surprised it is being predicted to move up to #19 this week.

By over 30%. Stay had ~360 points this past week, while Bad Habits had ~270 points.

As annoying as it would be for Butter to AGAIN return to #1, this remix coming out is a very good thing, seeing artists (particularly black female artists like meg) not being able to release their music bc of s**tty labels always sucks to see and at the end of the day it matters more than an annoying chart run

This is why independent labels have been on the rise and gives you so much more freedom but it’s also so much harder to find an audience and to grow without any big team or marketing behind you.
I’ve been wondering, if you sign to a label, can you just make another stage name and decide to go independent with 100% control under that name, or do they own all of you including any name or side project you make.

I’m OK with another week of Butter at #1 if it means one less week that The Kid LAROI and Bieber stay at #1 (again, I think the song is fine, but I’m becoming a bit sick of both artists having success in 2021).

So, we are really ok with Butter going back to #1 again? So it's ok if it's mass-bought because it's a remix with an artist you guys like?? And this is coming from someone who actually likes Butter a lot (even more so than G4U), but am wholeheartedly against it being #1 solely because its sales were not genuine.

That's more of my point.. and I don't remember those 1st-week bombs being particularly large. As far as scoring a decent-sized hit, that would be very difficult as well, I believe his last one was Mercy around 2012?

With Jesus is King, he debuted 7 songs in the Top 40, four of those being in the Top 25 and with Follow God debuting in the Top 10. Prior to that, Life of deleted also got a medium sized bomb with Famous and Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1 debuting in the Top 40. KIDS SEE GHOST also had one Top 40 debut with Reborn, and all 7 songs from ye made the Top 40.

Even taking out album bombs though, he's had several hits after Mercy like Black Skinhead, Bound 2, FourFiveSconds, All Day, THat Part, and I Love It. Hell even though it wasn't massive on the charts, I remember Only One being talked about for awhile back in 2015.

They're against bringing back anything from recurrency unless there's a good reason to do so. A song bouncing in and out of recurrency due to it hanging around in one of the recurrent zones is not good enough reason to bring it back. It would have to be something like rebounding after Christmas, a major televised performance, a viral moment propelling the song back into popularity, the artist's passing, etc. This is the case for all recurrents, not just the ones in the 25/52 rule.

Yeah he's had several hits since Mercy, lol. Even "Follow God" was a minor hit for him. I think Donda will be huge just because of the hype and the somewhat return to form for him sound wise. The album is really good based on the livestreams and I'm excited for it.
