ALL I DID WAS TRY MY BEST THIS THE KINDA THANKS I GET?!?
I have to say this is such an odd and puzzling marketing move to make. Why make and release a video for a song that isn't even a single yet before even coming out with a video for your current single?!! It just seems like a no-brainer, and can't see how this can do anything but harm the era. I remember the Weeknd did the exact same thing during the Starboy era, though can't remember the exact songs (might have been when I Feel It Coming was a single and they released a video for Reminder first). It's hardly be the first or even fifth time an artist shot a music video for a song that wasn't a single, and it'll hardly "harm" her era. Currently, SOUR has a total number of 3,845,249,728 streams on Spotify. She could put all of her energy into promoting an Olivia Rodrigo Sour Candy brand instead of her songs and she'd still have a successful era. Also artistically, I think this is a way better choice to give a music video instead of traitor. It's the superior song on it's own but I think the more energetic track would've led to something more creative visually. I could be wrong and she could end up making her best music video with traitor but giving her best song to date a music video is a W in my opinion.

We've already seen in the Sour era that Olivia has been able to promote multiple songs simultaneously, and this just continues that effort.

"Brutal" is not a single as of right now. I'm pretty sure they just released that for promo for the album/vinyl release.

Yeah, I can't see anyone saying "wait, I just heard Traitor on the radio but why is Olivia's new video for a song called brutal? I won't be streaming her Any More!" If anything, this provides more exposure for songs from her album to those who are curious but haven't fully jumped on, which, probably isn't many people because everyone on the ship has already jumped aboard.

Predictions means just that predictions. Of course they are going to get some wrong. They are predicting. They should always be taken with a grain of salt regardless of who is releasing them. And if you aren't happy with someones predictions, ignore them? Iβve never understood why people get so riled up over someone elseβs predictions. Itβs been a thing on here for a couple years even before there were Twitter accounts with large followings posting predictions each week. That and the year-round yearend chart talk are so uniquely Pulse

I am sure there are other things that are uniquely pulse but yes, those are two of them.
Edit: I would add people losing their minds over low charting debuts that the general public doesn't know or care about.

Ok but Olivia needs to make brutal a single,it's the best song left on the album and imo it's way better than traitor.
At least send it to alt,it's too good to be passed up as a single.

Slow week this week, I donβt see anything big going recurrent. Expect an album bomb from Trippie so a number of things will go recurrent. Case in point: Famous Friends, Beautiful Mistakes, Tombstone, Blame It On Me, and my.life are most likely gone this week

I think Tombstone will survive another week due to its gains on Apple Music from the release of the deluxe edition of Soulfly. It's a shame that this gem was wasted, from Rod half-heartedly promoting the song to radio getting on board with this way too late.

I think whatever album bomb we get is going to be in the bottom 50 of the chart, and that Lil Bit looks most likely to go recurrent because of its collapse on country radio.

BL moved back above 40M aud today, but still remains unranked on AM. I wonder if Abel (or someone) took it down on AM, or did it just go recurrent on the platform.

Nothing personal, but it's been like 10 months since I've had any use for the song.

Not Lil Bit getting dragged π€§ it's a bop and I believe it's one of the only songs ever that charted in the top 50 of pop for over 7 months without hitting the top 15 on Billboard pop (longevity!)

Wow, I just realized country has had an awful year in terms of hits. Between Morgan Wallen's controversy ruining Nashville's plans (or at least delaying them), and the streak of awful hits like One Too Many, Lil Bit, Drinkin' God Talkin Beer, Lil Bit, Good Ones, Just the Way, goddamn GOOD TIME, fucking Fancy Like.
There was crap last year, don't get me wrong, but at least last year we had 7 Summers, More Hearts Than Mine, One Beer, Does to Me, Even Though I'm Leaving. This year we just have Starting Over, What's Your Country Song, and maybe Chasing After You? (though that one is just more on novelty than quality). Country music deserves way better than to have these as its biggest hits.
