Not a new release but finally some Aaliyah music available with her sophomore album "One in a Million".
I honestly think it'll go top 10 on Apple Music at least.

Thanks for sharing; this is an interesting week but I don't see Lorde having a huge album bomb in the higher reaches of the chart.

lorde v. olivia for bb200? Considering Olivia has new vinyls and Lorde doesn't even have CDs, let alone an actual hit I think Doja is a bigger threat to SOUR than Lorde.

Aaliyah is #1 on iTunes ahead of the new releases.
Honestly had she had Vinyls/Cassettes/special CDs promoted further in advance and shipped this week I think she could've been a #1 contender.

Solar Power is such an underwhelming album, it's very one note and easily is the weakest stuff she has released. Mood Ring and California are the two major highlights but even those pale in comparison to most of her other two albums.

Visiting Blues - very sweet and very heartfelt tribute to his friend. I sadly don't really expect this to get big but as a promo track, it's a single that finally plays to Ed's strengths as both a writer and a composer
Donβt Go - loud groan at Bieber "rapping" but at least Skrillex is producing for him again so that alone makes it better than 97% of Changes and Justice

I'd argue that Trippie might be the favourite for the #1

Yeah I'd say Trippie is debuting at #1, unless Olivia has plans for physicals this week. The only reason Pegasus didn't was that it dropped the same week as positions

The only reason Pegasus didn't was that it dropped the same week as positions do you mean plans besides the fact that vinyl version is being released/starting to get shipped today? too early to tell for album #1 imo. Lorde is looking unlikely to me but the race could be tight between Olivia, Trippie, and Doja. I wouldn't count out Lorde entirely yet, eitherβBillie Eilish scored big with vinyl sales and Lorde could perform similarly (with more modest numbers).

Rod Wave released a deluxe edition of his SoulFly album. That should help it prevent Tombstone from going recurrent for at least this tracking week. It needs to pick back up on radio, though.

it wasnβt a very interesting summer FTFY, but letβs hope that DONDA actually gets released next week, so we can ring out summer/begin autumn with a bang.

You know it's rough when you're hoping for "100% certain" Kanye West to do anything.

Does anyone in here listen to Vampire Weekend? Musically Solar Power reminds me a lot of their latest album, Father of the Bride, and the weaker reception at release for SP compared to Melodrama reminds me of how FOTB was recieved compared to Modern Vampires of the City. FOTB seems to have shed the lukewarm initial reception tho so hopefully Lorde can do the same

Yes, I listen to Vampire Weekend. I think that if an artist deliberately tries to downplay the commercial appeal of their music that it can be a self-fulfilling prophecy, as those who are pop fans may be deterred by the attitude and only find out about the music belatedly, if at all.

My disappointment will likely fade with repeated listens but SP pales in comparison to her previous work which definitely did set a high expectations for whatever followed those.

Rod Wave released a deluxe edition of his SoulFly album. Iβm thinking that may block Trippie from the top spot, it seems to be doing well on AM.

Regarding Lorde- This is why I usually don't set standards or expectations for myself. Yes Solar Power is clearly lesser than her other two albums but disconnecting it from the fact, it is still a good album. Imo at least. My favourites atm are California, Fallen Fruit and Mood Ring
