lol, people better not be mad about LNX going all out for one week at #1. Most of the people here were okay with Stay being discounted for 11 weeks (and counting), despite it already being a long-running #1.

Its very much an Adele song. And that's at worst an 8/10 lol.

At the end of the premiere there was nearly 300k viewers on YT, which is a pretty strong start

This was a really nice song. You might not like it the first time, but it's still Adele! You'll come around in the end. A solid 8/10 from me.

When she sang the first chorus, it reminded me of Rihanna for some reason on her piano ballads. This is easily a 10/10 from Adele and i don’t think its that hard to ever miss when it comes to her. Hopefully she can do that whole year end in the least amount of weeks thing which is the most exciting part to look forward to with this chart run. She’s already had a #1 YE so doing stuff like this is probably more exciting anyways.

I liked it more on subsequent listens . It’s a grower . There is a lot of voice control vs the typical Adele incredible vocal gymnastics

That’s not how it works. Why would a US chart go off a UK tracking period?

And Thursday releases have always been counted Thursday. It was also already midnight somewhere in the world during every single other Thursday release too so it wouldn’t make sense to use that logic specifically for this release.

Anti was the last notable album that was accidentally made available hours before midnight, and that caused it to debut early. They didn’t carry those sales over into the official week.

Ok no need to be harsh, I was just thinking because this is touted mainly as a Friday release it might all go to next week, and wasn't quite sure of all the different time zones in the world and how that worked. I do think I understand that for the U.S. the cutoff is midnight Eastern time (I used to live in California where we would get it 9pm Thursday anyway, which is part of my confusion), but then I think in some cases singles are released in regions of the world that hit midnight first, but not simultaneously around the world as is the case with Easy On Me, so I was a bit confused with all of that.

As for the possibility of it charting at #1 on Spotify today based on just five hours of availability, yes, I do think that is entirely possible, and much easier now that numbers there are very low (Yesterday's #1 IB only having 1.3 million streams). Along with some airplay and possibly a few thousand sales, I wonder realistically how high it can debut off of less than a day of activity.
