Just saw her in Manchester last night and she was SO good. Her energy never wavered, despite the incredibly dull crowd (at least the venue was fully sold out), and I loved the setlist. Just wish more Kiss era tracks had made it on to it.
It amazes me just how good she is at making pop music, like every song on the set list sounded so immaculately crafted, and I had heard these songs dozens of times before. Non-stop pop perfection from an ageless queen!

Call Me Maybe just passed 1 billion streams on Spotify!
Wow, what an achievement for someone who straddled the digital singles / streaming eras.
Does anyone know how many digital sales CMM has, how much it is certified, and how much 1,000,499,945 streams means for certification?
I can see why Interscope lets her do her own thing. They completely recoup their investments in her albums through Call Me Maybe and her touring.
What an interesting spot to be in and it shows! Good for her.

^ Wikipedia has call me maybe at at least 18 million sales worldwide. As a little extra, good time has sold 2.2 million in the US.

The great thing about Call Me Maybe isn’t just that it’s a smash hit, it’s frankly a classic. Interestingly, I don’t think people tend to throw around the word with that song, probably because it’s only ten years ago. But I think it’s a classic, and thus, will be wanted to be heard for decades.

Late-ish response, but this would be the equivalent of ~6.67 million sales units for one song, or 6x platinum if all of those streams came from the US. Spotify only shows WW numbers though. CMM was certified diamond by the RIAA in 2016 but hasn't been updated since. It's probably undercertified by about 2 million now.

Without any surprise, The Loneliest Time: Side B (or The Loneliest Time: Companion Project) is happening.

The build during the pre-chorus is so good. I like the 80’s influence on this one, like she jumped from 70’s Disco for Dedicated A/B into early 80’s New Wave.

During an interview in Japan, Carly Rae revealed that the title of the companion project of The Loneliest Time will be The Loveliest Time. Also, Rostam confirms that two songs he did for for the project made the cut and they have BPMs.

All songs have BPMs, LOL. I see you, Rostam! I hope he does mean that they are danceable, though.

So is this going to be a digital/streaming only release? Her website hasn't been updated with any physicals and this comes out next week. I don't see it on any retail sites either.
After a little research, I do see this is coming out on CD in Japan on 9/8.

I'm holding off listening until the release day, but the tracks seem to be resonating well. Looking forward to next week.

Looks like "Weekend Love" is going to be exclusive to the Japanese import, I'll go ahead and cop that one.

Hopefully there's a Target edition with "Weekend Love" on it. It's pricey to import from Japan.

This was such a trippy first listen. Possibly her boldest, most left field album yet? I really like this front to back though, another winner in her discography.
1) Anything To Be With You - I did not expect the album to open up with an Amerie throwback! Admittedly, it took several listens to get used to that harsh opening/hook. But it finally all gelled, this is cute. 2) Kamikaze - This is taking me back to the darker sounding songs on Emotion (like "LAH," "WB" and "BH"). Which are all some of my favs from that album, so I'm here for it. 3) After Last Night - Oooooohhh... this is a really nice left turn. Didn't expect that drum n bass/jungle-lite production at all. So happy to see these 90's/2000's UK dance sounds popping up in songs lately. 4) Aeroplanes - The production on this is so off-kilter and cool, especially the piano, which sounds slightly out of tune in places. Sounds very Loneliest Time but with a twist. 5) Shy Guy - Finally, a pop girl comes to her senses and works with James Ford post What's Your Pleasure? (outside of Kylie with her Jessie duet of course). One of her sexiest songs and just fun all around. 6) Kollage - An immediate career highlight IMO. The production is sublime and I love the lyrics. 7) Shadow - One of those light and airy songs she consistently kills. Love the vocal layering. 8) Psychedelic Switch - A thumper! This will probably end up being the gay fav, lol. It is great, but it's pretty straight-forward and there are much better songs on the album. 9) So Right - I love the late-night drive synths on this. The chorus was an immediate highlight on the album for me. 10) Come Over - Probably the most basic Carly moment on the album, but it's still super cute. 11) Put It To Rest - Okay, so she's serving up some folktronica now? This might be the best song on the album along with "Kollage," sounds like nothing she's served us before. 12) Stadium Love - This is gonna kill live, very anthemic chorus (hilarious that it only happens once though). And I'm always a sucker for a guitar solo. 13) Weekend Love - I can see why this is being left off physicals, "Stadium Love" makes way more sense as an album closer. It's a quirky/cute moment though.

Loving the album. She set the bar so high with EMOTIONS/B but then, I was personally disappointed with Dedicated/B, except for a few tracks. The Loneliest Time was a step in a better direction, but now this is what I have been waiting for. Nothing that I would immediately skip.
Immediate favs are Kamikaze, Shadow, Psychedelic Switch, and Come Over. PS reminds me of the good ol' days listening to my local station broadcasting Open House Party circa 2001-2002, I keep thinking its gonna segue into Daft Punk's One More Time at any moment. If I had to pick my least favorites; Aeroplanes and After Last Night. Kollage might could be a little shorter as well.
