Further, “Christmas” is Carey’s record fifth Hot 100 No. 1 to rule for six weeks or more. She one-ups Boyz II Men, Drake and Usher, each with four such leaders. Doesn't Drake have 5? It seems like they aren't counting "Work" here.

I'm utterly astounded Kodak Black is getting a hit in 2021. I thought we got rid of him mostly after "Tunnel Vision".
And I'm also surprised A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie is still charting... And with a song from just an EP. I didn't think he really had the fanbase to stick around with minor success even.

I'm utterly astounded Kodak Black is getting a hit in 2021. I thought we got rid of him mostly after "Tunnel Vision". That's actually not really true. After Tunnel Vision, he had another top 40 hit in 2017 with his guest verse on Drowning, three more in 2018 with Roll In Peace, Wake Up In The Sky, and ZEZE, and even a minor album bomb toward the end of 2018. It wasn't until mid-2019 that his hits really started to dry up, with no charting songs in 2020 and only a couple low-charting entries as a feature in 2021 prior to Super Gremlin.

Another holiday that might debut in next week's Hot 100 is Christmas Isn't Canceled (Just You). It is #2 at Bubbling Under.

I am thrilled to see the iconic Eartha Kitt finally debuting with her classic "Santa baby"! It was long overdue. Fingers crossed for a top 40 placement next week.

Taking a look at the Holiday 100 and seeing what charted in the Hot 100, Hot 100 Recurrents and Bubbling Under, the top 42 of the Holiday 100 managed to chart in the first two, while two of this year's holiday songs in the lower half of the Hot 100 are at #46 and #53, with the only Bubbling Under song at #69.

Mariah's "C(BPCH)" is at #66 on the Holiday 100. I can't imagine its Bubbling Under since it's so old. I assume you mean Kelly's "Christmas" (with a parentheses)? "Santa Baby" is #50 on the Hot 100 but #24 on the Holiday 100. Gwen's song in question is #36 on the Holiday 100, so I don't see it making the Hot 100. Camila Cabello's "I'll Be Home For Christmas" is somehow #61 on the Holiday 100 and #83 on the Hot 100. Kelly's "Christmas Isn't Canceled" is #69 on the Holiday 100, but the songs between it and Camila's song are recurrent so I can definitely see Kelly making the Hot 100 next chart. I am just surprised Camila's song has been above it.

^Oops. I made a typo. That should have been #69 rather than #66 for the Bubbling Under song, Christmas Isn't Canceled (Just You).

Camilla's song is a new one, not subject to recurrent rules. There are that many recurrent Christmas songs that many of them can't chart because they miss the cutoff.
As to why Camilla's song is above Christmas Isn't Cancelled, I think it's interesting that people would prefer to hear Camilla Cabello sing than listen to Kelly Clarkson hop on the cancel culture bandwagon.

Cabello hasn't really been relevant/successful as of late as it is, and Kelly has been doing a lot of promo. It's just weird to me Cabello's song is doing better.

I would think that the title and approach of Kelly Clarkson's song would alienate a fair portion of the Christmas song-playing audience, which likely swings fairly traditional in their tastes, and that promoting it might not help so much.

^The big advantage that her song has is being an Amazon Music exclusive. I'm pretty sure it gets played a lot when people ask Alexa to play holiday music. I'm not sure where Kelly's getting her numbers from, but even though she has her own TV show it doesn't seem to be enough. Or, better yet, most of the benefit from it goes to Underneath the Tree.

I'm sure Amazon Original tracks are getting an extra push by the algorithm. For example, Norah Jones has a whole new Christmas LP out now but the only song of hers charting inside the top 500 is her Amazon Original track, which is at #67. And Alessia Cara's Make It To Christmas has been pulling decent numbers on Spotify for the past couple of years but it cannot be found on the Amazon chart while her Amazon Origianal track is sitting at #63. It's not like Norah and Alessia have been in the spotlight lately and the only thing these two songs have in common is that they are Amazon Originals. For Camila, not only her song is an Amazon exclusive, but her Cinderella film, which is also an Amazon original, is being promoted as a holiday movie on Amazon Prime now. So I can totally see Amazon's algorithm pushing the song further. I just wish we could see a glimpse of Amazon's streaming numbers, especially around this time of the year. It's really intriguing to see Amazon having this big influence on the chart.
For Kelly, Underneath the Tree is definitely outshining the new single and getting all the spotlights. It's currnetly at #10 while Christmas Isn't Canceled is at #51 on Amazon. On Apple Music, UTT is the second-highest charting Christmas song, only behind AIWFCIY. On Spotify, Santa, Can't You Hear Me is being pushed more than CIC. And Santa, Can't You Hear Me, Under the Mistletoe, Wrapped In Red and even Christmas Eve (with two versions combined) are pulling better numbers than CIC. She has multiple new or new-ish songs getting traction at the same time so I think the single is kinda getting lost in the shuffle. CIC still might debut next week but it will be more interesting to see which song from her new LP would stick and become another holiday staple for her.

I'm always shocked to see which Christmas songs end up being debuts. I know it was from pre-1958 but Santa Baby really hadn't charted on the hot 100 before now?? Dang

Kelly Clarkson should just promote Underneath The Tree. I think if she did it could be a perennial top 10 Christmas song. It’s my favorite ‘newer’ ones.

Even this year she has promoted it by singing it during her TV special, so I’m not sure what you mean. She obviously performed it a lot the year it was released, but even since then she has performed it on a Disney special, her talk show, her TV special, Rockefeller, The Voice, and it was used in the movie Office Christmas party. She promotes it often.
