This really highlights how stale the chart was at the top during Q3/Q4...
No rappers had a bigger song for 4 months?
Stay/Easy On Me/Industry Baby is reminiscent of the One Sweet Day/Exhale/Hey Lover situation lol. They're all doing consistent good numbers, but not posting record huge type numbers to be hogging up top 3 so long (like Uptown Funk/Thinking Out Loud/Blank Space or No One/Low/Apologize for example). It's just moreso a dry spell for new big hits allowing them to coast.

Although Heat Waves (a song that was released in June 2020) finally passed IB on the Hot 100 this week.

One of Mariah's many chart feats is that she spent at least one week at number one in every calendar year of the 1990s (since "Hero" stayed on top the first 3 weeks of 1994). She remains the only artist to ever top the chart in each year of a decade.
If AIWFCIY maintains its ability to top the Hot 100 every year for the rest of the 20s it would be an incredible feat to once again spend time at number one in every year of a decade, especially considering there were two other decades in between those runs!

Mariah has to be the artist with the most years with a number one song in it. She’s got all 10 years in the 90s, 2000, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2019, 2020, and 2021. That’s 17 years(likely 18 next week). I wonder if anyone else is even close to that.

Okay, I'm so confused because Billboard has been retroactively removing crediting for her? Crazy In Love - 8 weeks #1 Baby Boy - 9 weeks #1 Check On It - 5 weeks #1 Irreplaceable - 10 weeks #1 Single Ladies - 4 weeks #1 Perfect - 5 weeks #1 Savage - 1 week #1 = 42 weeks #1 The issue is likely with Perfect or Savage since she got credited mid-run for the songs. They verbatim said Perfect had 5 weeks #1 credited to her (although we know that was a mess but alas...) and Savage had its single week #1 credited to her. www.billboard.com/pro/ed-sheeran-beyonce-perfect-number-one-fifth-week-hot-100/www.billboard.com/pro/megan-thee-stallion-beyonce-savage-number-one-hot-100/I'm guessing the issue is with Savage since it's only 1 week #1 removed. It also shows on their chart pages as simply being a Megan Thee Stallion song with no Beyonce credit. This also effected her on the All-Time Hot 100 Artists chart they updated last month. She should've moved up to #40, but is #44.

Heat Waves #3 without Christmas. Depending on how quickly Stay falls, it should hit #2 sometimes in January though I don't think it'll be able to dethrone Easy On Me. Would be cool if it did tho. Imagine it hitting #1 in its like 50th week.

Well Brenda needs to get off her couch and start promoting it to give it an extra push. Otherwise, it's business as usual atop the charts.

I wonder if anyone else is even close to that. No one else could be close to it, given that the Beatles had 20 number ones (all in a 7 year period) and the next closest competitor to Mariah is Rihanna with 14 number ones (and those only cover 9 separate calendar years). Among artists with lots of number ones: 17 separate yearsMariah Carey 10 separate yearsMichael Jackson (11 if you include the Jackson 5) Madonna Paul McCartney (17 if you include the Beatles) 9 separate yearsWhitney Houston Rihanna 8 separate yearsJanet Jackson 7 separate yearsStevie Wonder The Rolling Stones Elton John Bruno Mars 6 separate yearsThe Supremes The Bee Gees Usher Taylor Swift Drake, The Weekend, and Justin Bieber have 5. Elvis has 5, but 8 if you include pre-Hot 100 hits from 1956, 1957, and 1958. George Michael has 6 if you include Wham!

Billboard is once again taking their sweet time to reveal this week’s debuts. Maybe they’re making sure they don’t miss anything like how they missed Merry Christmas last week.

This record, though. Some of the others mentioned are kind of random/silly (like the Dec 25 chart date thing), but this record shows she has hits. Of Mariah's 19 #1s, 17 of them had multiple weeks at #1.

I've seen rumors or fears that Billboard might paywall the Hot 100 like they have the other charts, could that be why they haven't tweeted out debuts like they normally do on Mondays, because that information will no longer be available to the public? I sure hope not.

I sure hope not. I'd say this would be a huge detriment to them, losing all the stans and normal chart-watchers who frequently visit their website for free and probably make up a good chunk of their overall website visitorship, but considering this is the same company that paywalled their entire albums chart that has technically existed for longer than the Hot 100, they probably don't give a s**t either way. To be fair, it's not like we're missing much if they paywall their terrible website when YouTube chart videos made by Billboard subscribers can recap what we couldn't see.

Surprised how close they are in streaming. Mariah 37.6 million and Brenda with 35.8 million.
Brenda doesn't need to get off her couch, radio, especially Pop needs to give the song more love.

"AIWFCIY" was ahead 28.5 to 27.4 in audio streams there, but "AIWFCIY" has a huge advantage in video streams so it should have increased its lead to several million once those were added in. Maybe I'm not aware of what HITS counts.

It’d be nice to see a rotation of Christmas songs at #1 every December. It looks like All I Want for Christmas Is You will be on top for the next 5 years max. Hopefully we can see Underneath the Tree and Santa Tell Me at #1 some point.

This week's top-selling songs: 1. @juiceworlddd & #SUGA: Girl Of My Dreams 2. @whoisgayle: abcdefu 3. @eltonofficial & @dualipa : Cold Heart (PNAU Remix) 4. @walkerhayes: Fancy Like 5. @edsheeran: Shivers
Hmm, I thought the credit was Juice, Suga, & BTS. Wonder where it charted.

^That's a deceptive credit. In an article Billboard Hot Trending Songs Chart mentioned "Juice WRLD‘s posthumous “Girl of My Dreams,” featuring BTS member Suga, ranked at No. 18 on the 24-hour list."

"Save Your Tears" has gone recurrent, the track spent a year on the chart and went #1 for two weeks back in May, becoming the third #1 hit from The Weeknd's 2020 album "After Hours" and his sixth #1 overall. A late remix from Ariana Grande sent the song over the top, also giving her a sixth #1 hit and she remained credited for the songs remaining run.
"Save Your Tears" is also notable for outlasting The Weeknd's follow-up single "Take My Breath." The end of SYT officially marks the end of the "After Hours" era following "Blinding Lights" exit a few months ago. I believe both songs currently sit as his most popular hits of all-time.

The only new entries not to come from Juice WRLD this week are Santa Baby by Eartha Kitt at #50 and Man in the Mirror by A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie at #82.
Wonderful Christmastime, You’re A Mean One Mr. Grinch, and Mistletoe comprise our Christmas returns at #41, #44, and #49 respectively, while Already Dead by Juice WRLD and To Be Loved By You by Parker McCollum also return at #54 and #85 respectively.
Save Your Tears, Beggin’, If I Didn’t Love You, Pepas, and Fair Trade are among our most notable dropouts, while You Should Probably Leave and Sand In My Boots both survive recurrency for another week.
