Of all those, who was the most recently-born? I haven’t checked, but I’d assume it’s GAYLE since she’s 17 and there’s a good chance her 2021 birthday has already passed (so she’d have been born in 2004).

Well GAYLE can join the 2000s kids who've had big hits alongside Olivia, Laroi, Tate McRae, Billie, 24kGoldn, iann dior, and Gabby Barrett (and yes for those who don't know, Gabby Barrett is only 21, she's my age) Lil Pump, Jawsh 685, Lil Mosey and Willow say hi too Op yeah, I forgot about WILLOW. Was hesitant about Jawsh since he wasn't the reason Savage Love blew up but okay fair enough (let's forget about the two Lils)

Listened to abcdefu for the first time yesterday and apparently GAYLE is 17? Yet another addition to the class of Gen Z acts breaking into the mainstream. These 2000s kids are starting to take over the chart. It's nice to see.

With it being nearly impossible to break into the industry beyond your early 20s, it's not surprising we're starting to see this generation's latest crop of stars start to emerge.

What, another Weeknd single? He’s my favorite artist but at this point he’s on pace to becoming another Lil Baby, Drake, Gunna and Lil Durk appearing on every single song.

Lil Pump, Jawsh 685, Lil Mosey and Willow say hi too Op yeah, I forgot about WILLOW. Was hesitant about Jawsh since he wasn't the reason Savage Love blew up but okay fair enough (let's forget about the two Lils)FWIW, Jawsh is one of the only few on that list with a number 1. As for the Lils, they did have success though regardless of how you feel about them. Also, Iann Dior was not born in the 2000s.

How are you loud and wrong about something but act indignant when someone corrects you? This is rich coming from someone who said ASTROFEST footage was fake news. Why haven't the mods done something about this user yet? I stated that Twitter is not a valid source, and where has it been confirmed that he told people to rush the stage besides Twitter? Stop trying to get my attention because your existence is a pity

Doesn't matter if the footage came from Twitter, CNN, or my left testicle, it was still real footage from the concert. And clearly drem got your attention, so... Op yeah, I forgot about WILLOW. Bieber and the weekend need to go away and not release anything for a year. Too many radio hits in the last 2 years and pure overexposure. They will flop with anything thay they release if they continue to release so frequently. Ghost is doing well but it's only because it is part of the album.

Regarding The Weeknd, the funniest thing is that despite all these releases, Blinding Lights remains the one with the highest streaming numbers.

Is The Weeknd's team forcing the artists to release the new collaborations every 4 weeks? It doesn't make any sense... if it's a strategy, it doesn't benefit anyone involved.

Is The Weeknd's team forcing the artists to release the new collaborations every 4 weeks? It doesn't make any sense... if it's a strategy, it doesn't benefit anyone involved. I understand where this is coming from but to be fair, "La Fama" with Rosalia has been number one in Spain (Rosalia's main territory) for the last three weeks. It also got Abel his first number one single there too which means that the collaboration did indeed benefit both parties. As for the rest of the collaborations, they didn't necessarily helped out Abel but they did indeed help the other party, as he managed to get Swedish House Mafia to chart again in various regions, and he helped Post Malone get another top ten single when his lead single failed to do so. In the case of FKA Twigs, he's most likely going to get her the first Hot 100 entry of her career which will allow for her to possibly gain a decent following here. Although in the short term, this might hinder the full chart runs of these features, its probably better for him long-term to get them out of the way now so that he doesn't have them to worry about them maybe conflicting with the second single of ''The Dawn'' (which hopefully he'll wait a bit to release). Although we'll definitely have to wait and see whether or not this strategy will be successful in the long run, which I believe is really dependent on the sound that he decides to go for on his next single. Since the general public expects him at this point to re-invent himself with every new album era in order for them to give him that number one. I believe this can be seen by the difference in performance between "Lost in the Fire"/"Power Is Power" and "Heartless"/"Blinding Lights" (two sets of songs with completely different sounds), which only had a couple of months of space between their releases. Although back then he didn't have multiple different songs charting in different nations during the release of another album single, especially two that came out in more than a year prior to their current charting, so who knows in the end. It's definitely interesting examining the re-occurring (although slightly changing) trends that occur in the careers of musicians like him.

Every year I wonder why Britney's My Only Wish didn't take off in the US. In my country it's such a Christmas staple, I always hear it in the mall and radio for two decades now. Younger songs Underneath The Tree and Santa Telle Me managed to break through but this one didn't! Even the NSYNC holiday songs are appearing on Spotify lists that I see posted here
Also, It's Christmas All Over The World by Sheena Easton!

It seems Canadians have a penchant for overexposure on the charts ... Drake and JB have been pretty well known doing that for that for quite a while.

Billboard's new Hot 100 layout is so much better. The last version was so clunky and obnoxious. The Uk chart interface is still superior.

Why doesn't GAYLE have a Wikipedia page? Probably because her musical output is so sparse at the moment. ABCDEFU is only the 4th song she’s officially released, and her first such release in over a year.

I just realized that Heat Waves is at 47 weeks on the chart now, and it's quickly climbing on radio (with excellent callouts) while holding pretty steady on streaming.
It's now: -5 weeks from a year on the chart -17 weeks from the top 10 longest-charting songs (Before He Cheats is #10 at 64) -22 weeks from the top 5 (How Do I Live is #5 at 69) -43 weeks (lol) from Blinding Lights which had 90
I think it has a realistic chance of holding on long enough to get top 5. Heat Waves feels destined to linger around forever...plus I can't think of any artists that could totally album bomb the top of the charts for a while.
