Poker Face was an EVENT, one we've scarcely seen the likes of since. Just Dance was huge (I think technically a bigger hit than this) and explosive in its own way, but Poker Face was the world's true introduction to Lady Gaga and it was just glorious. I still remember everyone talking about it at the time because it was so fresh.

And I once had a college roommate who played In The Air Tonight on loop nonstop for an hour straight. I wouldn't be happy to hear any Lady Gaga song on loop for that long.

According to scientific research, this song fits into any time of the day better than any other song. Which might help explain why it’s never faded in popularity since 1983. Side note: its placement in Stranger Things is absolute perfection

I always thought that I might see a "Stairway to Heaven" while I'm "Counting Stars" in the sky.
And I might not be "The Scientist" you're looking for, but "Have You Ever Seen the Rain" from the top of "Hotel California"?
I know you always got that "Poker Face", but you reminded me of "Somebody That I Used to Know",
but my feelings for them have been "Numb" like a "Zombie" for a while.
And "Every Breath You Take" reminds me of a better life.

Thoughts on 40-31 set:


40. I know "Have You Ever Seen the Rain" is a classic but it was never a song I grew up on or have as strong memories of as most people. Not surprised it got this far though.

39. I do really love "Counting Stars" and think that's a really great song from OneRepublic. In fact, one of my top favorites of theirs. I'm surprised this managed to make it to the Top 40, but I'm glad it did! Nice to see this only having 1 Bottom 20 ranking. :o

38. My thoughts on "Stairway to Heaven" are pretty much the same as my thoughts on #40. I know this is a great classic rock song but it's not one I grew up on nor have a strong appreciation for, but I understand those that do. Glad I wasn't the sole lowest ranker.

37. Oh wow, I'm kinda shocked to see that I had "The Scientist" at #61. I really like this song but ahh this is such a stacked group of songs. I thought I had it higher but I guess not. But yeah a great classic song from Coldplay. I don't mind this ranking here.

36. I don't mind "Hotel California" and kinda like it but not a huge favorite of mine. I'm just glad most of my lower ranks are starting to show up now and hope it continues, haha.

35. Aww I do love "Numb" and am kinda surprised seeing it show up here, as I see Linkin Park do really well in these games. But yeah I am also at peace with this showing up before "In the End." A great and classic song from Linkin Park here.

34. I really like "Zombie" and think it's a great song. I do agree with the host in the sense of wishing the Linkin Park song was higher but I'm fine with this showing up at this spot.

33. Oooof, gah I guess I was due for a big loss in this set and here it goes. :'( I do really love "Poker Face" and it's one of my top favorites from Lady Gaga. Great and fun jam from Gaga. I am glad it made it this far, though I would have loved for it to make it higher.

32. Really surprised that "Somebody That I Used to Know" made it this high. I do love this song and think it's great, but yeah surprised it beat out many of these older and modern classics.

31. Oooh I'm also kinda surprised seeing that I ranked "Every Breath You Take" so high at #28 too. This is a great classic song that I do love (despite how it can be seen as kinda creepy) and am happy to see it rank this well. Although a Top 30 ranking would have been even better.

I would love for it to outlast Rolling In The Deep and be the highest 2010s song. It deserves it.

Caught up on the last 30 reveals, honestly good with most of these reveals. Counting Stars overstayed so hard lol, it's honestly so overrated at the point. The Scientist was robbed though, such a pretty song!

I'm pretty happy with this top 30. The only songs I really would like to see leave soon are RITD and TEOTH, but the rest of these I'm fine with.

40. Have You Ever Seen the Rain - Creedence Clearwater Revival
this would be a CCR song I don't like

39. Counting Stars - OneRepublic
One of the better 2010's songs still folating around here. I never cared for Ryan Tedder's overbloated song writing style, but this song actually became my favorite One Republic song. Not that I charted many, but they all came from 'Native'.

38. Stairway to Heaven - Led Zeppelin
Classic Rock ballad, but prefer their faster songs. It wouldn't make my Led Leppelin top 10. I would still pit "All of My Love" higher, and the song's length is a bit too long.

37. The Scientist - Coldplay
One of my Coldplay favs from the 2000's. It hasn't held up fantstic on my playlists but I can still listen to it once in a while ,and recall when they were a great band.

36. Hotel California - Eagles
This low rank made no F U C Kin sense to me whatsoever, but I also didn't meet anyone who disliked the Eagles till I joined this forum. That goes for Queen, Foreigner, Journey and Adam Ant as well. Seriously WTF? 

35. Numb - Linkin Park
I started appreciating this song a whole lot more when I saw it on this list of songs. Actually the melody of this song became fire when I heard this version. Chester would have had a great carrer in Hi-NRG.



34. Zombie - The Cranberries
Is and always will be my favorite Cranberries song. A song proud to carry the tag Aletrnative Rock. The dark melody of the song captures the post war vibe, but it could easily have been a post Zombie war them as well.

33. Pokerface - Lady Gaga
This song never did anything for me, and as far as strippers dancing to this I prfer when they dance to 80's MEtal. Didn't Daughtry do a better version of this song.

32. Somebody That I Used to Know - Gotye f/Kimbra
More like some song that I usded to enjoy. This hasn't held up well on my playlists either. Now this is a perfect example of radio overplaying a song to the point where you wanna crash the Dee Jay's room and cracked the record on his head. Seriously I heard this more on the radio back then I have heard "Hotel Califoria" in the last 40 somthing odd years.  

31. Every Breath You Take - The Police
I love this song and it could very well be in my top 5 Police favorites, but I wouldn't dedicate this song to any girl now days, because now a days evryone gets freaked out by the slightest fricking thing you do or say. Funny enough most of the Police songs could be flagged now days as being creepy. 

Lost one top 10, but it wouldn't be a PULSE RD if I didn't lose at least one top 10 a night, right? So as long as everyone is saying this and that is overstaying I'll throw in a couple.

It is to Synth music as to what Get Low is to Crunk music. And if things go well, I really do hope that it makes the top 10.
