The thing that puzzles me is that week after week people here comment/complain that there are no big releases, therefore no shakeup in the charts, itβs likely theyβre refusing to acknowledge that newer names or rising stars could be doing just that. Coupled with the suggestion that music fans in general just arenβt embracing new music as much leads me to believe itβs all going to get worse. Itβs like while we wait week after week for the biggest of the big to drop new music, weβre ignoring everything else and there is arguably a lot of good music out right now - just not a lot of it by big names.

With how huge Euphoria is, I'm a little shocked Labrinth hasn't had at least one moderate hit in the US yet.

The soundtrack is doing well as a whole though. To reach top 50 on album chart without ANY support from mainstream platform is pretty good. All it has is the series.
Btw it was great to see Drink Before the War TRIPLE its overall streams in a week thanks to Euphoria. WHAT A SCENE!

Anyone know why the Billboard 200 top 10 wasn't revealed yesterday?

^No. But it does happen from time to time. I would assume it should be revealed later today.

3 (+1) The Kid Laroi & Justin Bieber - Stay 82.68 (-0.13) 4 (-1) Adele - Easy On Me 82.06 (-2.55)
This, for sure, will add more fuel to fire about Stay being a radio driven hit, and I hate that because Stay was really big in streaming early in its run. If you want to know how big Stay was in its streaming prime, take a look at WDTAB's numbers the last week and double that.

On a serious note, can this finally be the year where Kelsea Ballerini gets a YE hit? I feel we were robbed of Peter Pan, Homecoming Queen and Hole in a Bottle from being hits.

If you want to know how big Stay was in its streaming prime, take a look at WDTAB's numbers the last week and double that. Multiple things can be true at the same time. It is fact that, at this point, "Stay" is radio-driven. It isn't even top 10 in streaming, but it's top 5 on the Hot 100. That's due to radio. That doesn't mean its streaming wasn't big at its peak. It also doesn't mean it still isn't hold up well in streaming; it is holding up well for a song that has been out for like 8 months. But if you removed radio from the equation, it wouldn't be top 10. That's just a fact.

With how huge Euphoria is, I'm a little shocked Labrinth hasn't had at least one moderate hit in the US yet. He had a low key one in 2012! Beneath your beautiful was a top 40 hot 100 hit and peaked at 26 on pop radio with 17 weeks on the chart

These radio numbers are dreadful, at this rate, Enemy is probably going to be next radio #1.

Half of My Hometown still has a bit more work to do to get there. It appears to be about halfway of the points it would need to appear this year. Given that it is probably close to peaking at radio, a lot will depend on how quickly it drops there after getting there. It definitely looks like it will need to chart past 20 weeks in the Hot 100 to have a real chance.

STAY did not break multiple streaming records for it to be a "radio fueled hit" make the bad takes make sense at the very least.

I think people are way too quick to judge a song on how it looks after it has been on the charts forever without looking at things in a life-cycle perspective. We tend to see sales and streams contribute way more to a song's success at the front-end of a chart run and radio contribute a lot more at the tail-end of a chart run, and if a song has a lot of all three at different parts of its run, then there's no need to criticize it because has the radio strength to stay on the chart a long time while other songs that one might prefer did not get that radio and had a shorter chart run.

On the 2/26 chart
Stay
#13 Streaming #3 radio (both metrics - peaked at #1)
as mentioned been charting for a while.
I guess I don't understand the controversy

STAY did not break multiple streaming records for it to be a "radio fueled hit" make the bad takes make sense at the very least. It's been radio fueled as of late; that doesn't mean it was always radio-driven. Where is the post that said it never had good streaming? I haven't seen it but could have missed it.

If you hate radioβs influence on the Hot 100, make a weekly streaming chart thread and talk about that instead.

I think some of you read way too much into posts. Saying something is currently radio-driven has nothing to do with its streams 4 months ago, nor is it necessarily a criticism (it might be a criticism for some, but it isn't necessarily).

Adele is again the biggest loser with EOM (-2.55) and OMG (-1.30), I really don't know what's happening there.
Radio is slow af, and mostly with certain artists (Bieber, Dua Lipa, Weeknd, Ed...). At this rate in 2 months, Easy On Me (released: october '21) a song that was #1 5 weeks ago, will be below Levitating (october '20) a song that peaked in May last year. Also the fact that 50% of songs in the top 50 spent at least 20 weeks on the chart (14 songs 30+ weeks) really speaks volumes.
Since we know that radio won't change, Billboard should do something. Reduce the % of radio in the formula, and I think most people would be happy with that.

The Kid Laroi has been teasing a new single on his Instagram for a while now, I could see that being big if it's good. It'll be interesting to see if radio will take to it like they did with Stay.

Reduce the % of radio in the formula, and I think most people would be happy with that. EOM's losses aren't surprising and are to be expected, given that it's already been out over 4 months like you said, but more so because it peaked very quickly right away on all its 3 major formats, pop, AC, and Hot AC. People were very recently saying that it was sticking around too long and wasn't declining fast enough, lol. It's OMG however that is a bit more puzzling and kind of disappointing, since it's the second single that came out after EOM.
