Well i watched the performance and Khaled was thankfully more quiet especially during Jay Z’s part which is what most people love this song for. We were somewhat spared of what our expectations were.

As time goes by, it solidifies how truly amazing Lauryn Hill's win was in 1999 AND the fact that AOTY was all women/female-fronted bands that year.

maybe I'm wrong, but there's no way Harry wins 4 awards, especially pop solo and pop vocal against Adele. My pred: AOTY Beyonce, SOTY Adele or Taylor, ROTY Harry and Anitta BNA✔️ ✔️ ✔️ ✔️ ✔️ this is so random af

This was the time where the GRAMMYs should have gone with Renaissance for AOTY and they totally messed up (again). Sigh!

It would’ve felt nice if Bey had won but I was always in the camp of not thinking this was her best album so I wasn’t overall pulling for it.
Harry winning wasn’t what I wanted either but it was a very dominant album so it’s not too shocking. Though if the nominees only Coldplay was lower on my wish list.
Bey, Kendrick and Brandi missed this year but I feel like they’re going to win someday. It will feel incomplete if they never do.

I think I've resigned to the fact that the Album of the Year will always be a disappointing selection regardless.

The one album she truly should’ve won AOTY for was the self-titled. I would never forgive the Grammys for giving it to Beck.

Uh…I don’t want to bag too much on Harry. The album was solid, but it certainly had no business winning over Renaissance, and I’d also rank it below 30, Mr. Morale, and Un Verano Sin Ti. As mentioned earlier in the thread, “As It Was” should have received the song-level recognition that the album got instead.
I’ve expressed exhaustion with Beyoncé’s cult of personality, but it really is outrageous that she‘s now lost AOTY three times in a row. Adele looked pissed when they announced the winner, and I don’t think it was on her own behalf. I guess at least it wasn’t to the likes of ABBA or Coldplay.

Man if Kendrick's losses were against deserving albums I wouldnt complain (if DAMN had lost to Melodrama instead of 24K Magic wouldn't complain) but losing to Harry's House is a joke All of his albums got snubbed, including TPAB losing to 1989. I do agree losing to Harry’s House is for sure the most ridiculous.

I honestly think Beyoncé would win if she did an album with just her and one producer.
People are really hung up on people having a smaller team of writers.
I don't care either way, but I think she could snap one if she kept it to her and one or two writers.

Harry and Coldplay were my lowest personal ranks of the choices. Hell, can you imagine if somehow Mary would have won??? Beyoncé probably wouldn't have had to graciously clap and could've celebrated one of her idols getting her flowers and then some.

Fuck the grammys. Even though I'm happy for harry this is just more fuckery from the Grammy voters again. Like come on. I can't take the grammys seriously anymore.

The one album she truly should’ve won AOTY for was the self-titled. I would never forgive the Grammys for giving it to Beck. This. Should’ve had it twice with Lemonade, but the 25 win was unsurprising to many. She should have multiple AOTYs at this point, and it’s just silly at this point. Renaissance isn’t my favorite album of hers, but I was rooting for it to finally get her over that line.

More deserving winner than last year, although I do think this was Beyoncé’s year. Love both Harry’s House and Renaissance but the later is more “art” - so to speak.

Harry is just such a meh winner. The lead single should have gotten some awards but the album? Meh.

People need to stop doing this to Beyoncé before the announcement of AOTY….is a curse at this point.

Harry’s House is a perfectly fine album. I don’t see it as a revelation, and I don’t think it brought anything new to the table. I’m really not sure why the Academy found it necessary to honor it so heavily.

I don't even dislike Harry. But the fact is I think Harry's House was a significant step down from Fine Line and even the Self titled

Yeah, "As It Was" was undeniable in its impact and whatnot, but Harry's House didn't feel particularly big to me, nor was it over impressive the few times I listened to it. Nice, yeah, and catchy, but compared to several of the other choices, it's so middle of the road - which I guess is the M.o. for the album of the year category.
Beyonce's album was probably the most deserving. My heart was with Brandi's album obviously, but Bey getting it makes the most sense. Lizzo's would have been acceptable too, and you know what? I wouldn't have argued against ABBA getting recognized (though at the same time, they should just get a lifetime award with a 10-minute tribute. That would be more appropriate and justified). I'm less keen on Kendrick with this album in comparison to his last ones, all of which absolutely deserved serious consideration. (TPAB was 100% robbed though).

Welp, only 2 hours old and this tweet already isn’t aging well now that the Beyhive has a hold on it.

Fine Line aka his best album should've won a grammy.

This is what holds back R&B and hip hop albums from winning. All the sampling and multiple producers… Basically this some bullshit!

They really f**ked up AOTY and that closing performance was a misstep (along with the fan panel). But overall I enjoyed the show. A lot of deserving winners and I was entertained by most of the performances.
