Although this year has been good for country, it's also been pretty weird, who in the world thought Drunk and Wasted on You would another run on the Hot 100 longer after a year since they've both been released and can both make the YE.

I'm actually expecting that to become pretty common at this point.... it's similar to "Forever After All" having essentially a second run on Hot 100 (was huge during album release, then huge again once it peaked at Country radio months later). Country radio is the worst radio format in terms of how all music still has to be pushed traditionally by a record label's connections and funding rather than programmers paying attention to consumers. More and more Country songs will do well on their own initially then be pushed by Country radio and peak much later giving them second lives. |

Which is due to the issue of Country radio still being set up very traditionally and out of date in today's landscape. Songs take 20+ weeks to reach their peak on Country radio, even if it's already proven consumers love the song. Country radio also very rarely ever will support multiple singles from 1 artist's album at once (whereas Pop radio for example will play multiple Doja, Bieber, Ariana, etc songs in top rotation if they are all hot in the moment). Pop radio is already a mess, but imagine if it took 5+ months for an Ariana lead single to reach its peak, then another 5+ months before the 2nd single which already did huge numbers during the album release months ago to peak, and so forth. You would then see songs with two chart runs and and separate peaks in different years more often. The current #1 on Country radio has been charting on the format for 46 weeks. The current #2 on Country radio has been charting on the format for 37 weeks. The current #1 on Pop radio has been charting on the format for 16 weeks. The current #2 on Pop radio has been charting on the format for 17 weeks. |

Its streaming gains have actually been pretty good in the last 3 weeks, especially compared to the months before. It even got back into the Spotify Top 50 for a couple days, but yeah it's mostly radio keeping it up. |

Can Post Malone get that no.1 in May with One right now as his manager said the album will be release in May? I think its chances are already long gone and it might only get a small boost from the album (like how TMB got one when Dawn FM came out). In other words, if thereβs a Drake feature on one of the songs then maybe #1 is in the talks for that. I canβt see him making another Circles, Sunflower or rockstar happen but he could definitely get another Better Now or Goodbyes or a Psycho type hit. |

Thousand Miles does sound like a hit so it'll be interesting and let's get one thing out of the way, can we not say this is an automatic number 1/top 10 debut, Kid Laroi has never had a top 10 debut nor a solo top 10 hit. If it happens, it happens, if it doesn't, it doesn't.

As for the Hot 100, As It Was is the only interesting event on the entire chart this week. The songs that should be rising are falling. Itβs gonna take way more than just one song from Harry and Jack to make things interesting again Harry, Harlow, and Wallen pulling a Shake It Off / All About That Bass would be a dream - all three of them trading off with multiple non-sequential weeks at number one because all three songs are smash hits Especially if Heat Waves and Stay take up the other two spots in the top 5 through Christmas and set longevity records - what a dream scenario for five amazing songs |

We could get 3 Top 10 debuts for the first time since CLB week. Hopefully, this will push at least one of Levitating or Save Your Tears to recurrency. I doubt this is happening, but where do we think the Lil Baby tacks will end up this week? |
