Extras: five of these would have made this list a lot more juicy.
Play That Funky Music - Wild Cherry First off nice story. I love stories that brings us a closer expireince to the songs we know and love. Play it man! Definitely a 70's favorite in most books. Love songs that sound like they could have been candidates for the movie 'The Warriors'. Perfect for that scene with "the Lizzies"
Love Hurts - Nazareth I know this was a huge Pop hit. Even more Powerballad magic that probably inspired hoards of 80's Powerballads. My fondest memory of this song is from the Halloween soundtracks.
Rich Girl - Daryl Hall & John Oates One of my top 3 favs from this duo. the organs in the intro remind me a lot like "You Make My Dreams...". Daryl Hall was pretty flambouyant back in the 70's wasn't he?
Don't Go Breaking My Heart - Elton John & Kiki Dee catchy to this day. Wouldn't have been the only straight pop song I would gave a high rank in a mainstream rock rd.
Dream On - Aerosmith More bands from Boston I love. I went back on thier discography to discover this one after the 'Permament Vacation' hits. easily one of my favorite Aerosmith songs, and there are many, but I especially love Steven's delivery here, and since I am PULSE's biggest fan of screaming in music this one sounds epic everytime. Man this would have been in my top 10. Maybe even sacrifice one Heart song for this one.
Wish You Were Here - Pink Floyd I'm pretty sure a lot of Pink Floyd fans would push this one up the list, but not from any help from me.

Solid top 10. Really surprised that Landslide didn't make the Top 10, not my favorite FM song, but I recognize it's creative merits enough to slot it at #24. Surprised that Kid Charlemagne (a #82 single) made the top 10, the sampling by Kanye surely helped and it is very well reviewed but I don't recall really hearing this on the radio at all. Yes, I kinda skimped on Sweet's ranking, based on their other songs I guess I was expecting better.
Surprised to see BG's make the top 10. Nice to see them get some love for something other than Saturday Night Fever.
Gotta love the double Heart in the Top 10. As for the extras.... I would have definitely put Dream On way up in my top 5. Nazareth, my Top 10. I love a lot of Pink Floyd but WYWH escapes me. I would have listened to it a couple times to give it a fair shake.
All in all, very representative top 10.

This is how you sneak in a disco song into a Mainstream Rock rank down. Nice job. Barely two below 30 rank.

Color me surprised, I thought ELO was next to go. Thought FM was going to make a run for the top. Happy to see Heart get their biggest Rankdown hit w/ a song released twice that barely hit the top 40 (#35 if I recall correctly).

Another Fleetwood Mac Rock jam that gets a solid top 20 slot on my list. I find this song really fit Stevie's vocals. almost as she was the woman in the song. The chorus is basically just backup vocals, but it really works.

Your final 2. (Don't Fear) The ReaperCrazy on YouTale of the Tape:This was the top 2 for 10 non-consecutive movements. Every movement at #1 belonged to either Blue Oyster Cult or Heart. These songs have a combined 21 top 10s, 18 being top 5s, and 6 beings #1s. rowellfarm490 is the only player with an opportunity for a perfect top 2. All rankings for these two songs are in the top 30. DJDaveMick69 is the only player with no top 10s left The final margin is 52 points.

3. Evil Woman - Electric Light Orchestra I like this one slightly more than "Livin' Thing" anmd you it is ,becasue it is a bout a woman. Ever wonder how simple ELO's choruses are and yet they rock proper.
